Fully-angular polyhex chains with minimal total π-electron energy

By Hückel molecular orbital (HMO) theory, the calculation of the total energy of all π-electrons in conjugated hydrocarbons can be reduced to that of E(G)=|λ₁|+|λ₂|+?+|λn|, where λi are the eigenvalues of the corresponding graph G. Denote by Ψn the set of all fully-angular polyhex chains with n hexagons. In this paper, we show that Hn has the minimum total π-electron energy among chains in Ψn, where Hn is the helicene chain.     

A system-theoretic framework for a wide class of systems I: Applications to numerical analysis

A system-theoretic framework is proposed, which allows the study of hybrid uncertain systems, which do not satisfy the so-called “semigroup property.” Characterizations of the notion of robust global asymptotic output stability (RGAOS) are given. Based on the provided characterizations, the qualitative behavior of hybrid systems obtained by time-discretization of systems of ordinary differential equations with a globally asymptotically stable equilibrium point, is studied.

针对合同的动态性，提出利用基于演化博弈建立定价模型。考虑到决策群体中个体的认识误差，对所建立的定价模型进行修正，建立带偏离的定价模型并分析了偏离对均衡解的影响。最后将以上模型应用实例进行比较分析。     

Separable anisotropic differential operators and applications

The nonlocal boundary value problems for anisotropic partial differential-operator equations with a dependent coefficients are studied. The principal parts of the appropriate generated differential operators are nonself-adjoint. Several conditions for the maximal regularity and the fredholmness in Banach-valued Lp-spaces of these problems are given. These results permit us to establish that the inverse of corresponding differential operators belongs to Schatten q-class. Some spectral properties of the operators are investigated. In applications, the nonlocal BVP's for quasielliptic partial differential equations and for systems of quasielliptic equations on cylindrical domain are studied.     

Scale-free behavior of the Internet global performance

Measurements and data analysis have proved very effective in the study of the Internet's physical fabric and have shown heterogeneities and statistical fluctuations extending over several orders of magnitude. Here we focus on the relationship between the Round-Trip-Time (RTT) and the geographical distance. We define dimensionless variables that contain information on the quality of Internet connections finding that their probability distributions are characterized by a slow power-law decay signalling the presence of scale-free features. These results point out the extreme heterogeneity of Internet delay since the transmission speed between different points of the network exhibits very large fluctuations. The associated scaling exponents appear to have fairly stable values in different data sets and thus define an invariant characteristic of the Internet that might be used in the future as a benchmark of the overall state of “health” of the Internet. On the Stability of Bifurcation Diagrams of Vanishing Flattening Points

On a smooth surface in Euclidean 3-space, we consider vanishing curves whose projections on a given plane are small circles centered at the origin. The bifurcations diagram of a parameter-dependent surface is the set of parameters and radii of the circles corresponding to curves with degenerate flattening points. Solving a problem due to Arnold, we find a normal form of the first nontrivial example of a flattening bifurcation diagram, which contains one continuous invariant.     

A multifractal decomposition according to rate of returns

For one‐dimensional simple symmetric random walk, the Hausdorff and packing dimensions of sets of sample paths with prescribed rate of returns to the origin are determined.
