The long‐time behaviour of the thermoconvective flow in a porous medium

For the Boussinesq approximation of the equations of coupled heat and fluid flow in a porous medium we show that the corresponding system of partial differential equations possesses a global attractor. We give lower and upper bounds of the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor depending on a physical parameter of the system, namely the Rayleigh number of the flow. Numerical experiments confirm the theoretical findings and raise new questions on the structure of the solutions of the system. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Existence and uniform decay for Euler–Bernoulli beam equation with memory term

In this article we prove the existence of the solution to the mixed problem for Euler–Bernoulli beam equation with memory term. The existence is proved by means of the Faedo–Galerkin method and the exponential decay is obtained by making use of the multiplier technique combined with integral inequalities due to Komornik. Low‐gain adaptive stabilization of semilinear second‐order hyperbolic systems

In this paper low‐gain adaptive stabilization of undamped semilinear second‐order hyperbolic systems is considered in the case where the input and output operators are collocated. The linearized systems have an infinite number of poles and zeros on the imaginary axis. The adaptive stabilizer is constructed by a low‐gain adaptive velocity feedback. The closed‐loop system is governed by a non‐linear evolution equation. First, the well‐posedness of the closed‐loop system is shown. Next, an energy‐like function and a multiplier function are introduced and the exponential stability of the closed‐loop system is analysed. Some examples are given to illustrate the theory. Two-Frequency Autowave Processes in the Complex Ginzburg–Landau Equation

We study the complex Ginzburg–Landau equation with zero Neumann boundary conditions on a finite interval and establish that this boundary problem (with suitably chosen parameters) has countably many stable two-dimensional self-similar tori. The case of periodic boundary conditions is also investigated.

用微波消解石墨炉原子吸收法测定[1]丁香中的微量元素镍。选择最佳微波消解条件和测定条件,对样品多次测量,回收率为89.6%-110%,样品丁香中镍的含量为1.06μg/g。该方法测定具有灵敏度高,重现性好,简单快速等特点,为丁香的进一步开发提供科学依据。
