Irrationality of the sums of zeta values

In this paper, we establish a lower bound for the dimension of the vector spaces spanned over ? by 1 and the sums of the values of the Riemann zeta function at even and odd points. As a consequence, we obtain numerical results on the irrationality and linear independence of the sums of zeta values at even and odd points from a given interval of the positive integers.     

Some New Results for McKean’s Graphs with Applications to Kac’s Equation

The main goal of the present paper is to sharpen some results about the error made when the Wild sums, used to represent the solution of the Kac analog of Boltzmann’s equation, are truncated at the n-th stage. More precisely, in Carlen, Carvalho and Gabetta (J. Funct. Anal. 220: 362–387 (2005)), one finds a bound for the above-mentioned error which depends on (an ^Λ+ε). On the one hand, it is shown that Λ, the least negative eigenvalue of the linearized collision operator, is the best possible exponent. On the other hand, ε is an extra strictly positive number and a a positive coefficient which depends on ε too. Thus, it is interesting to check whether ε can be removed from the above bound. According to the aforesaid reference, this problem is studied here by means of the probability distribution of the depth of a leaf in a McKean random tree. In fact, an accurate study of the probability generating function of such a depth leads to conclude that the above bound can be replaced with (a′ n ^Λ).

以宁波大学为实例,在《大学生体育合格标准》的试行后通过对大学生心理、生理和能力等方面进行综合分析以及通过随机抽样、问卷表调查、座谈会等办法对各种数据(包括达标成绩、身体素质、形态机能、学习成绩)运用均数,标准差等统计方法进行分析处理,结果表明,实施《标准》既必要,也可行.在高校实施《大学生体育合格标准》的条件已基本具备,大学生对《标准》的各项要求是有承受能力的.     

Hamiltonian cycles in n‐extendable graphs

A graph G of order at least 2n+2 is said to be n‐extendable if G has a perfect matching and every set of n independent edges extends to a perfect matching in G. We prove that every pair of nonadjacent vertices x and y in a connected n‐extendable graph of order p satisfy deg_G x+deg_G y ≥ p ? n ? 1, then either G is hamiltonian or G is isomorphic to one of two exceptional graphs. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Trimmed sums of i.i.d. Banach space valued random variables

Limit laws for trimmed sums of triangular arrays of i.i.d. Banach space valued random variables are studied. It is shown that if the array belongs to the domain of attraction of an infinitely divisible law without Gaussian component on a separable Banach space of type 2, then the trimmed sum converges weakly to a nondegenerate Banach space valued random variable.     

Bearing capacity analysis of reinforced concrete L-shaped cross-section under biaxial eccentric compression

The ultimate capacity of short L-shaped reinforced concrete (RC) members subjected to biaxial eccentric compression is investigated to provide a new tool for structure engineers. On the basis of nonlinear analysis of RC arbitrary cross-section, a new simplified cross-section numerical integration method is suggested. The cross-section is divided into several triangles, and each one is integrated with Gauss integration method. And L-shaped cross-sections subjected to biaxial eccentric compression are analyzed. The interaction curves of (N-M) and (My-Mz) for L-shaped sections are derived. The analytical results are well consistent with the experimental data and other analytical results.
