The two modified β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivatives having catechol-type ligand (2,3- and 3,4-dihydroxy groups on the benzoate ring) were synthesized. The chiral catalytic activity of their MoV and CuII complexes was examined in the asymmetric oxidation of aromatic sulfides using hydrogen peroxide in water (pH 6.0). The oxidation with the MoV complexes of two β-CD derivatives were more accelerated than that with the CuII complexes. The sign of the optical rotation of the sulfoxides obtained in the above two cases showed the opposite configuration in the oxidation of the same sulfide. The difference of the enantioselectivity appeared also between the two complexes of the 2,3- and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate derivatives with the same metal ion. While the use of the MoV complexes with the catechol derivatives yielded the sulfoxides with 35–65% ee, the use of the CuII complexes gave the products with the␣opposite configuration at 26–52% ee. The chiral induction in the oxidation, observed conversely between the␣catalysts, was reflected on the chiral conformation of the respective metal catalysts, showed in Induced Circular Dichroism (ICD) spectra. The highest optical yield, 65%, was observed in the oxidation of butyl phenyl sulfide using the catalytic amount (0.1 equiv) of the MoV complex with mono-6-O-(3,4-dihydroxybenzoyl)-β-CD. The reaction gave predominantly the (S)-sulfoxide in 95% chemical yield.  相似文献

Magnetic and electrical properties are investigated for quaternary neodymium sulfides BaNd2TS5 (T=Co, Zn) through the specific heat, neutron diffraction, and electrical conductivity measurements. Their electrical conductivities show semiconductive behavior, which follows the Arrhenius temperature dependence with the activation energy of Ea=1.46 eV for BaNd2ZnS5 and Ea=1.19 eV for BaNd2CoS5. The specific heat of BaNd2ZnS5 has a λ-type anomaly at 2.8 K due to the antiferromagnetic ordering of the Nd3+ moments and a Schottky-type anomaly at around 60 K, which results from the crystal field splitting of the 4I9/2 ground state of the Nd3+ ion. The specific heat of BaNd2CoS5 shows two λ-type anomalies at 5.7 K due to the antiferromagnetic ordering of Nd3+ and at 58 K due to the antiferromagnetic ordering of Co2+. The latter overlaps with the Schottky-type anomaly due to the crystal field splitting of the Nd3+ ion. Neutron diffraction measurements for BaNd2CoS5 show that a magnetic arrangement of the Co2+ moments has a collinear antiferromagnetic structure, while that of the Nd3+ moments has a noncollinear one.  相似文献

Summary Silica-supported cadmium sulfide, highly active in hydrogen photogeneration from water-methanol-KOH solution, was prepared by sulfidation of Cd2+-impregnated SiO2. The samples consisted of colloidal-size hexagonal crystallites of CdS on amorphous SiO2. A blue shift of a light absorption edge was observed for the samples with lower CdS content.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde Cadmiumsulfid auf Kieselgel durch Sulfidierung von Cd2+-imprägniertem SiO2 hergestellt, das eine außerordentliche Aktivität bei der Wasserstoff-Photogenerierung aus Wasser-Methanol-KOH-Lösungen zeigte. Der Katalysator bestand aus hexagonalen CdS-Kristalliten von kolloidalen Ausmaßen auf amorphem SiO2. An Proben mit geringerem CdS-Gehalt wurde eine Blauverschiebung der Lichtabsorption an der Absorptionskante beobachtet.

The photochemical behavior of solutions containing a mixture of CdS and CdTe nanoparticles under pulsed irradiation conditions was investigated. It was shown that electron transfer from the CdS particles to the CdTe nanoparticles occurs during the photoexcitation of such systems. The effectiveness of the process is increased with increase in the size of the CdTe nanoparticles. Such behavior is due to decrease in the potential of the CdTe conduction band with increase in the size of the nanoparticles as a result of the appearance of quantum-dimensional effects.  相似文献

Ligands that bind to such heterobimetallic molecules most commonly are S2– and SR species. Metal-metal bonded complexes, and compounds where metal-metal interactions are minimal are both discussed. Three poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfide)s with oxygen to sulfur ratios of 2/1, 2/2, and 1/2 were prepared by phase-transfer catalyzed polycondensations of (1) sodium sulfide and 1,2-bis (2-chloroethoxy)ethane, (2) 1,2-ethanedithiol and 1,2-bis(2-chloroethoxy)ethane, and (3) 1,2-ethanedithiol and 2-chloroethyl ether, respectively. A buffered solution with pH between the pKa of the monothiol (RSH) and the pKa2 of the dithiol (HS–R–SH), or H2S, was needed to obtain high molecular weight polymers, which suggests that nucleophiles transfer and react as monoanions rather than dianions. These poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfide)s were oxidized completely to poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene sulfone)s using 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid as oxidant. Both the final polymers and the precursors have regular sequenced structures and are semicrystalline. As expected, their glass transition temperatures and melting points increase and solubilities decrease with the decrease of ether oxygen to sulfur ratio. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We report a thermal analysis study of the effect of molecular weight on the amorphous phase structure of poly(phenylene sulfide), PPS, crystallized at temperatures just above the glass transition temperature. Thermal properties of Fortron PPS, having viscosity average molecular weights of 30000 to 91000, were characterized using temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). We find that while crystallinity varies little with molecular weight, the heat capacity increment at the glass transition decreases as molecular weight decreases. This leads to a smaller liquid-like amorphous phase, and a larger rigid amorphous fraction, in the lower molecular weight PPS. For all molecular weights, constrained fraction decreases as the scan rate decreases.This research is supported by the U. S. Army Research Office through contract DAAH04-96-1-0009. Thermal investigations of two novel coordination compounds, potential precursor of copper sulfides, namely [Cu2(S2O3)2(NH3)45H2O and Na2[Cu4(S2O3)5(NH3)82H2O were performed either in solid state (static air atmosphere), as well as in reaction medium. During both decompositions, Cu2+ reduction occurs. In solid state decomposition, a mixture containing sulfides and sulfates is observed. In the reaction medium, CuSy compounds with sulfur content y (0.66<y<1) dependent on thiosulfate concentration are obtained.
