4-Hydroxy-2-quinolones 113. Synthesis and antitubercular activity of N-R-amides of 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-oxo-1-propyl-1,2,5,6,7,8-hexahydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid

A preparative method has been developed and the synthesis has been effected of anilides and heterylamides of 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2-oxo-1-propyl-1,2,5,6,7,8-hexahydroquinoline-3-carboxylic acid. Cyclocondensation of 2-Aminobenzimidazole with Dimedone and Its Arylidene Derivatives

The reactions of 2-aminobenzimidazole with substituted benzaldehydes and dimedone, 2-arylidene derivatives of dimedone, 9-arylhexahydro-1H-xanthene-1,8(2H)-diones and also with dimedone and DMF have been studied. The direction of formation of the pyrimidine ring has been established and discussed. An X-ray structural investigation of 2,2-dimethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzimidazo[1,2-a]quinazolin-4(1H)-one has been carried out.     

Relationship between the molecular structure of amino acids and dipeptides and thermal sublimation effects

This paper reports on our mass spectrometric study of sublimation of glycine and DL-alanyl-glycine (Ala-gly). The sublimation enthalpy of Ala-gly has been determined by generalization of the data obtained and the results of AM1 quantum-chemical calculations. A relationship has been found between the sublimation enthalpy (ΔH _subl), heat capacity (C _P), and the sum of bond lengths (Σn _i l _i ) in 17 α-amino acid and 9 dipeptide molecules. Correlations are suggested for evaluating ΔH _subl of amino acids and peptides.     

Transition metal 1,2-bidentate thiolates as building blocks and their construction into cluster complexes

Simple fragments of transition metal 1,2-bidentate thiolates, the so-called building blocks of the general compositions ML₃, ML₂, ML, M(O)L₂, ML₂L, MLL, etc. have been proposed to constitute the di-, tri- and tetranuclear complexes concerned in this review. 4-Hydroxy-2-quinolones 131. Bromination of 3-allyl-4-hydroxy-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline

Reaction of hexafluoropropylene and its oligomers with acetone oxime

Reactions of perfluoropropylene and its oligomers with acetone oxime in the presence of a base afford perfluoroalkyl and/or perfluoroalkenyl ethers of acetone oxime. When heated to 100 °C, the 3-perfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentenyl ether of acetone oxime (3) is quantitatively converted to 4-hydroxy-3-methyl-5,5-bistrifluoromethyl-4-pentafluoroethyl-1-pyrroline (4), the structure of which was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. A convenient one-stage synthesis of perfluoro-3-isopropyl-4-methyl-3-penten-2-one (7) was proposed.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Hydrothermal Synthesis and Structural Characterization of a Novel Organic—Inorganic Hybrid Compound {[Cu（2,2′—bpy）2]2—Mo8O26}

A novel organic-inorganic hybrid compound {[Cu(2,2′-bpy)2]2Mo8O26} has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group, Pna21,with a=2.4164(5),b=1.8281(4),c=1.1877(2)nm,V=5.247(2)nm^3,Z=4,and final R1=0.0331,wR2=0.0727.The structure consists of discrete {[Cu(2,2′-bpy)2]2Mo8O26} clusters,constructed from a β-octamolybdate subunit[Mo8O26]^4- covalently bonded to two [Cu(2,2′-bpy)2]^2 coordination complex cations via bridging oxo groups.In addition,the spectroscopic properties and thernal behavior of this compound have been investigated by spectroscopic techniques (UV-vis,IR,Raman and EPR spectra) and TG analysis.     

Controlled Rate Thermal Analysis of Hydrated Borates

Quasi-isothermal-isobaric analysis was applied as a main method for investigation of thermal decomposition of borates. The structural mechanism of the dehydration and dehydroxylation of selected borates is considered. It has been found that they consist of two independent stages: formation of gaseous water molecules localized into the structural framework and their release. The internal pressure of gaseous water molecules is the factor influencing the course of these processes. The strengths of the chemical bonds of the components and the freedom of their displacement also determine thermal stability of hydrated borates.
