Analysis of bit error rate in an optical soliton communication system

An analytical model to describe the Gordon-Haus jitter has been introduced. We have analysed the effects of accumulated amplified spontaneous emission and Gordon-Haus jitter on the bit error rate (BER) performance for various digital modulation formats (that is, ASK, FSK and DPSK).     

Ultra-high speed all-optical shift registers and their applications in OTDM networks

All-optical shift registers are basic building modules for the development of ultra-high speed optical time division multiplexing networks. In this paper, we review the progress that has been made in this cutting-edge technology, focusing on implementations that exploit the attractive features of semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA)-based interferometric configurations. We present regenerative storage performed with an all-optical recirculating shift register with an inverter at 10 Gb/s using a SOA-assisted Sagnac switch and a second SOA to provide feedback. We demonstrate also an all-optical memory based on the SOA-assisted Ultrafast Nonlinear Interferometer capable of reading/writing 20 Gb/s packets of variable length without data inversion. These registers can find application in the development of two nontrivial complex all-optical circuits of enhanced functionality. The first is an all-optical pseudorandom binary sequence generator for which we describe an efficient design algorithm and propose ways for monitoring and verification. The second is an all-optical error counter for which we address the error detection and evaluation issues using a novel sampling technique. These circuits are key elements for the implementation of a high-speed, all-optical bit error rate tester (BERT), which has the potential to outperform its electronic equivalent and constitute a possible new product for the telecommunications industry.     

钻头选型通用方法研究

提出了一种既考虑地层的多种岩石力学特性又考虑钻头经济效益的具有通用性的钻头选型方法。该方法在待钻地层岩石力学性质评价的基础上,首先应用模糊优选理论建立了地层岩石力学性质相似层位的模糊优选模型,用其进行相似层位的优选,然后应用经济效益指数法对相似层位的钻头性能进行评价,最后给出合理的钻头选型结果。该通用钻头选型方法不受区域限制,克服了常规的依据地质分层或钻井经验进行层位相似判断的不足,不仅适用于PDC钻头选型,也适用于牙轮钻头选型。应用该方法对某新探区进行了钻头选型。现场试验结果表明,该方法是合理、有效的。     

高精度绝对式光电轴角编码器

本文介绍高精度绝对式19-bit、21-bit光电轴角编码器的工作原理、具体结构、精度和可靠性等.采用移相电阻链细分和分段多次校正的方法对提高绝对式编码器的分辨率、精度和可靠性是有效的手段之一.检测结果:19-bit编码器的分辨率准确度σ=±0.6″ ,测角准确变σ=±1.2″;21-bit编码器的分辨率准确度σ=±0.2″,测角准确度,σ=±0.62″.其中,19-bit绝对式编码器早已用于光测设备中.     

牙轮钻机垂直振动分析及控制

从理论上分析了垂直振动的产生原因及其与钻进参数的关系。在此基础上，应用模糊控制理论，提出了垂直振动超限时改进的一维模糊控制方法及控制策略，并在牙钻机实验台上进行了控制实验。结果表明，当垂直振动超限时，该控制方法可使其迅速降至设定值附近；当垂直振动小于设定值很多时，钻进参数会自动提高，以保证钻进效率。     

Effects of gordon-haus jitter on soliton transmission

The bit error rate (BER) performance of an optical soliton communication system is analyzed. Based on the jitter variance equation and the chi-square distribution for the amplified spontaneous emission noise, an analytic expression for the BER calculation is obtained. We have investigated the effects of Gordon-Haus jitter, which is due to the random phase shift of the soliton individual central wavelength induced by the amplified spontaneous emission noise of the amplifiers. Very good agreement has been obtained between our theory and the reported experimental results.

基于等效MSE的空间-时间可伸缩码流提取方法

可伸缩视频编码（scalable video coding,SVC）可以有效地将视频的码流通过不同网络传输给不同的用户.通过对一个帧组（GOP）中所有宏块的尺寸和运动情况进行分析,提出了等效均方误差（Eq-MSE）方法,以此计算视频不抖动的最小帧率,再根据网络的带宽,确定提取子流的时间和空间增强层的层数.这种基于视频内容的子流提取方法,有效地弥补了当前视频编码不考虑视频内容这一不足,在一定带宽下,使视频的解码质量达到最优.对比于不考虑视频内容的方法,提出的自适应子流提取方法使重建的视频峰值信噪比在一定比特率下显著改善.
