We have studied the catalytic properties of copper-cerium oxide catalysts, supported on zirconium, aluminum, titanium, and
manganese oxides, in the reaction of selective oxidation of CO in hydrogen-rich mixtures. We have shown that the high activity
and selectivity of catalysts supported on zirconium and aluminum oxides is connected with the presence of (in addition to
divalent copper) higher amounts of copper in the (+1) oxidation state in the catalysts.

The precise guidance to different ions across the biological channels is essential for many biological processes. An artificial nanopore system will facilitate the study of the ion‐transport mechanism through nanosized channels and offer new views for designing nanodevices. Herein we reveal that a 2.5 nm‐sized, fullerene‐shaped molecular cluster Li48+mK12(OH)m[UO2(O2)(OH)]60?(H2O)n (m≈20 and n≈310) ( U60 ) shows selective permeability to different alkali ions. The subnanometer pores on the water–ligand‐rich surface of U60 are able to block Rb+ and Cs+ ions from passing through, while allowing Na+ and K+ ions, which possess larger hydrated sizes, to enter the interior space of U60 . An interestingly high entropy gain during the binding process between U60 and alkali ions suggests that the hydration shells of Na+/K+ and U60 are damaged during the interaction. The ion selectivity of U60 is greatly influenced by both the morphologies of the surface nanopores and the dynamics of the hydration shells. 相似文献

Summary The importance of selectivity in the capillary gas chromatographic analysis of the cellular fatty acids of micro-organisms is underestimated. The analysis on apolar silicone phases can lead to erratic elucidation of the fatty acid structure. Qualitative errors have been detected in commercially available standards on which computer matching identification techniques are based. Using highly polar capillary columns of the cyanopropyl silicone type, the errors could be elucidated. The exact identification of the hydrolysis products of bacteria is a must for chemotaxonomic studies applying chromatographic techniques. The fatty acid methyl ester profiles can also contain other chemical components which are very important taxonomic markers. Fatty aldehydes, for example, are main components in someClostridium species. The selectivity of mass traces obtained by monitoring liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) and liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was compared. A number of blank extracts (fish, pork kidney, pork liver and honey) were separated by ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC). Detected were some 100 dummy transitions respectively dummy exact masses (traces). These dummy masses were the product of a random generator. The range of the permitted masses corresponded to those which are typical for analytes (e.g. veterinary drugs). The large number of monitored dummy traces ensured that endogenous compounds present in the matrix extract, produced a significant number of detectable chromatographic peaks. All obtained chromatographic peaks were integrated and standardized. Standardisation was done by dividing these absolute peak areas by the average response of a set of 7 different veterinary drugs. This permitted a direct comparison between the LC-HRMS and LC-MS/MS data. The data indicated that the selectivity of LC-HRMS exceeds LC-MS/MS, if high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) data is recorded with a resolution of 50,000 full width at half maximum (FWHM) and a corresponding mass window. This conclusion was further supported by experimental data (MS/MS based trace analysis), where a false positive finding was observed. An endogenous matrix compound present in honey matrix behaved like a banned nitroimidazole drug. This included identical retention time and two MRM traces, producing an MRM ratio between them, which perfectly matched the ratio observed in the external standard. HRMS measurement clearly resolved the interfering matrix compound and unmasked the false positive MS/MS finding. 相似文献

Although a multitude of different methods are known today, there is still a huge demand for novel and, in particular, catalytic halogenation methods that exhibit new reactivities and selectivities. The class of hypervalent iodanes meets exactly these needs and thus offers a great opportunity to fuel this highly desirable direction within the field of halogenation chemistry.
