Behaviour of electrolytes confined in cylindrical and slit pores are studied by computer simulations at the molecular level. Previous equilibrium and structural properties obtained by Monte Carlo techniques using the restrictive primitive model are discussed. Transport properties are calculated by the canonical molecular dynamics technique for ions with Lennard–Jones cores. Assuming an external electric potential, the chemical potential of individual ions can be balanced without the need for a grand canonical procedure. The mobility of the counterion is affected by the surface charge density. At a high surface charge, the mean square axial displacement of the counterion calculated is lower than the bulk value due to its high concentration near the charged wall. 相似文献

Energy-consistent relativistic pseudopotentials for 3d-transition metals Sc to Ni based on modified valence energies are proposed. The pseudopotentials are adjusted at the finite
difference level within the intermediate coupling scheme with respect to multi-configuration Dirac–Hartree–Fock data based
on the Dirac–Coulomb Hamiltonian with an estimate of the Breit contributions in quasidegenerate perturbation theory. Typically
a few hundred to thousand J levels arising from about 35 to 40 configurations ranging from the anion down to the highly charged
cation are considered as references. It is shown that introducing a small common energetic shift of all valence energies reduces
the errors in the parameter adjustment considerably. Results of highly correlated atomic and molecular test calculations using
large basis sets and basis set extrapolation techniques are presented.

In the system of SDS/n-C5H11OH/n-C7H16/H2O with the weight ratio of SDS/n-C5H11OH/H2O system at5.0/47.5/47.5, the upper phase of the system was W/O microemulsion, and the lower phase was the bicontinuous microemulsion. When the n-heptane content was less than 1%, with the increase of the n-heptane content, the capacitance (Co, Cod) in the upper phase (W/O) dropped, the capacitance (CB1, CBld) in the lower phase (BI) raised. At the same time, the W/O-BI inteffacial potential (ΔE), capacitance (Ci), and charge-transfer current (ict) decreased.After the n-heptane content reached 1%, with the increase of the n-heptane content, ΔE, Ci and ict demonstrated no significant change. 相似文献

A series of hexadehydro[18]annulenes fused with different numbers of p-benzoquinone, 4-6, were synthesized by stepwise transformation of the p-dimethoxybenzene moiety of the precursor dehydroannulene 3 fused with three 3,6-dimethoxy-4,5-dimethylbenzene units at 1,2-positions into p-benzoquinone using ceric ammonium nitrate. The UV-vis spectra of compounds 4 and 5, which have both electron-donating p-dimethoxybenzene unit(s) and electron-accepting p-benzoquinone unit(s) in the π-systems, showed the maximum absorption bands bathochromically shifted in comparison with 3 having only p-dimethoxybenzene units and 6 having only p-benzoquinone units. However, the solvatochromism expected for 4 and 5 was found to be quite weak possibly because the HOMO and LUMO (B3LYP/6-31G(d)) are not localized but rather delocalized over the whole π-systems. 相似文献

Potential energy surfaces form a central concept in the application of electronic structure methods to the study of molecular structures, properties, and reactivities. Recent advances in tools for exploring potential energy surfaces are surveyed. Methods for geometry optimization of equilibrium structures, searching for transition states, following reaction paths and ab initio molecular dynamics are discussed. For geometry optimization, topics include methods for large molecules, QM/MM calculations, and simultaneous optimization of the wave function and the geometry. A projection operator method is presented, which provides the most efficient way for calculating the stationary behavior of nonlinear Brownian motion. A continued-fraction expansion of the Fourier-Laplace transform of the displacement correlation function or the spectral density is used. This method utilizes a successive optimization procedure on the nonlinear terms and includes the method of statistical linearization as the lowest order approximation. A systematic way to calculate the continued fraction numerically up to sufficient order for convergence is developed, which enables us to obtain the spectral density of a system previously uncomputable.Numerical computations of the spectral density of a nonlinear oscillator with a double-well potential are presented and compared with the results obtained by statistical linearization.This work was supported in part by the National Science Foundation under Grant CHE 75-20624. 相似文献

A variational method for solving the time-independent single-particle Dirac equation in the Coulomb field of two nuclei is
described. A minimax variational principle and basis functions that have the proper analytic behavior, i.e. behave like r
γ,γ non-integer, in the neighborhood of a nucleus, are used. A momentum space integration scheme for computing the necessary
two-center integrals is described. Results are given for a standard test problem on two nuclei with Z=90 with an internuclear separation of 2.0/Z. The results confirm those of a previous calculation [F.A. Parpia and A.K. Mohanty, Chem Phys Lett 238: 209 (1995)].
