Multivariate power series distributions and Neyman's properties for multinomials

A probelm of J. Neyman (in Classical and Contagious Discrete Distributions (G. P. Patil, Ed.), 1965, pp. 4–14) regarding a characterization of positive and negative multinomial distributions is studied in this paper. Some properties of multivariate power series distributions in general which should be of independent interest are also derived.     

f-Dissimilarity of Several Distributions in Testing Statistical Hypotheses

Various problems in statistics have been treated by the decision rule, based on the concept of distance between distributions. The aim of this paper is to give an approach for testing statistical hypotheses, using a general class of dissimilarity measures among k 2 distributions. The test statistics are obtained by the replacement, in the expression of the dissimilarity measure, of the unknown parameters by their maximum likelihood estimators. The asymptotic distributions of the resulting test statistics are investigated and the results are applied to multinomial and multivariate normal populations.

零售业态结构优化体系的研究

零售业的发展与它所在的整个环境息息相关,其中零售业态结构是否合理在很大程度上决定了整个零售业的发展方向以及发展速度,对于一个特定的经济、政治、社会环境,在理论上应该存在一个最合理的零售业态结构,提出零售业态的multinomial Logistic优化模型,以便对我国经济决策的宏观调控提供一种新的思路．     

GMW-序列的多项相关性

提出了多项相关性的概念,并对二元序列进行多项相关分析,给出了GMW-序列多项相关函数的代数表达式和值域,证明了m—序列的各级相关函数的值域均为{1,T~(-1)},而GMW-序列除了自相关函数值域为{1,T~(-1)}外,其三级和三级以上的多项相关函数的值域的基数都大于2.     

A COMPOUND POISSON MODEL FOR LEARNING DISCRETE BAYESIAN NETWORKS

We introduce here the concept of Bayesian networks, in compound Poisson model, which provides a graphical modeling framework that encodes the joint probability distribution for a set of random variables within a directed acyclic graph. We suggest an approach proposal which offers a new mixed implicit estimator. We show that the implicit approach applied in compound Poisson model is very attractive for its ability to understand data and does not require any prior information. A comparative study between learned estimates given by implicit and by standard Bayesian approaches is established. Under some conditions and based on minimal squared error calculations, we show that the mixed implicit estimator is better than the standard Bayesian and the maximum likelihood estimators. We illustrate our approach by considering a simulation study in the context of mobile communication networks.

Computation of Carlson's Multiple Hypergeometric Function R for Bayesian Applications

Abstract

Carlson's multiple hypergeometric functions arise in Bayesian inference, including methods for multinomial data with missing category distinctions and for local smoothing of histograms. To use these methods one needs to calculate Carlson functions and their ratios. We discuss properties of the functions and explore computational methods for them, including closed form methods, expansion methods, Laplace approximations, and Monte Carlo methods. Examples are given to illustrate and compare methods.
