Summary In well-developed convection, the surface sensible-heat flux can be evaluated from Sodar data; by using these flux values, it is possible to estimate some scale parameters in the mixed layer (likeθ * andw *). The use ofθ *,w * and the height of the mixed layerz i, obtainable from other sources (i.e. radiosoundings), allows to verify some similarity relationships. We analysed the vertical profiles of the ratioσ w 2 /w * 2 : we found that it follows the theoretical behaviour depending onz/z i if we use numerical coefficients slightly different from those usually referred to in the literature.  相似文献

A numerical method is developed to solve the coupled unsteady laminar momentum and thermal boundary layers over a circular cylinder impulsively started from rest. The present non-iterative finite difference method, which requires relatively fewer grid points in the reversed flow region than any other method, can easily handle the separating boundary layer flows. The results indicate that the present method has accuracy comparable with the earlier methods, while consuming computer time approximately one order of magnitude less. The present numerical method allowed investigation of the effect of buoyancy parameter on the starting boundary layer. The time-dependent behaviour of the boundary layer is studied in terms of the appearance of the singularity, the distribution of skin friction and wall heat flux, and the wall position of the inflection point of the velocity profile. The transient as well as buoyancy-dependent patterns of the streamlines and isotherms are also studied.  相似文献

We explore a numerical technique for determining the structure of the kinetic boundary layer of the Klein-Kramers equation for noninteracting Brownian particles in a fluid near a wall that absorbs the Brownian particles. The equation is of interest in the theory of diffusion-controlled reactions and of the coagulation of colloidal suspensions. By numerical simulation of the Langevin equation equivalent to the Klein-Kramers equation we amass statistics of the velocities at the first return to the wall and of the return times for particles injected into the fluid at the wall with given velocities. The data can be used to construct the solutions of the standard problems at an absorbing wall, the Milne and the albedo problem. We confirm and extend earlier results by Burschka and Titulaer, obtained by a variational method vexed by the slow convergence of the underlying eigenfunction expansion. We briefly discuss some further boundary layer problems that can be attacked by exploiting the results reported here.  相似文献

This review introduces the possibilities of ion-beam techniques for the analysis of thin films and thin-film structures processed by atomic layer deposition (ALD). This paper deals with the blow-up properties of the solution to a semilin-ear parabolic system with localized nonlinear reaction terms, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We first give sufficient conditions for that the classical solution blows up in the finite time, secondly give necessary conditions and a sufficient condition for that two components blow up simultaneously, and then obtain the uniform blow-up profiles in the interior. Finally we describe the asymptotic behavior of the blow-up solution in the boundary layer.  相似文献

When a body of fluid bounded by a porous disk of finite thickness is disturbed from a state of rigid rotation by an enhanced (or reduced) angular velocity of the disk, a few authors followed Darcys model and observed that the centrifugal pumping occurs through the entire porous layer regarded as a convection zone. The shear stress can develop only at the edge of the porous layer. We use a porous disk of high permeability that allows the fluid in the porous disk to deform in response to the changing angular velocity. Based on the Birkmans model, we solve for the steady non-linear flow and observe that there arises (i) a convection zone of nearly uniform angular velocity at the boundary (within the porous layer) and (ii) a transition zone adjacent to the convection zone which provides a smooth transition to the interior. This makes the model relevant to some astrophysical situations as described by some authors [1, 3]. The two point boundary value problem is solved subject to the boundary conditions, the far field conditions, and the matching conditions at the fluid-porous medium interface. Interaction of aryl/alkyl isothiocyanates and a-anilino benzylnitrile has been found to afford the corresponding 5-amino-4-phenyl-3-aryl-2-aryl/alkylimino thiazolines. These have been characterised. The reaction is found to be a general one. The thiazolines on hydrolysis with alkali afford hydrogen sulphide, benzaldehyde along with nonreacted products. Formation of these products, obtained by the hydrolysis, has been confirmed by thin layer chromatography.  相似文献
