In the present work, we study the use of near infra-red spectroscopy (NIRS) technology together with a remote reflectance fibre-optic probe for determination of the major components in bee pollen. The method allows immediate control of the bee pollen without prior sample treatment or destruction through direct application of the fibre-optic probe to the sample.The regression method employed was modified partial least squares (MPLS). The calibration results obtained using 45 samples of bee pollen allowed the measurement of protein, moisture, ash, reducing sugars, and pH with multiple correlation coefficients (RSQ) and prediction corrected standard errors (SEPC) of 0.91, 0.56% for protein, of 0.78 and 0.49% for moisture; 0.92 and 0.049% for ash; 0.81 and 1.32 g of glucose/100 g of bee pollen; 0.84 and 0.15 for pH, respectively.The prediction capacity of the pattern was checked by applying it to samples of unknown pollen in external validation.  相似文献

The needle oil of the Algerian maritime pine (Pinus pinaster Ait.) growing in natural habitats in Sidi Feradj (Algiers region) was obtained by hydrodistillation in 0.3% yield and analyzed by GC and GC/MS. More than 46 compounds amounting to 65.2% of the total oil were identified. A method for the calculation of the optimal monomer addition policies for polymer composition control in emulsion terpolymerization is developed. The method is applied to reactors with and without limited heat removal capacity. A mathematical model that incorporates the main features of the vinyl acetate/methyl methacrylate/butyl acrylate high solids content emulsion terpolymerization system allows the calculation of the composition of the initial charge of the reactor and the time-dependent monomer addition rates required. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Reported here are two novel quasi-racemic (bis)indole alkaloids, cycloaplysinopsin A (5) and cycloaplysinopsin B (6), isolated from tropical Indo-Pacific (Comoros, Philippines) scleractinian corals of the family Dendrophylliidae. Although their structures suggest a Diels-Alder cycloaddition origin from aplysinopsin-type precursors, neither experiments, nor theory allowed us to clearly distinguish an enzymatic process with scarce enantioselection from the intrusion of an adventitious catalyst in the coral extracts, where the chiral environment caused a slight asymmetric induction.  相似文献

This paper presents in detail a robust, efficient and accurate methodology for the computation of equilibrium composition in gaseous mixtures. The methodology is founded on the concept of the chemical basis, which is defined and formalized using a powerful matricial approach. The method is specially designed to be general, thus providing basic thermodynamic data in several areas, such as combustion, plasma chemistry and, more generally speaking, computational fluid dynamics. The performance of the method is given in terms of CPU usage and the computed results are compared with those in the published literature. The method is shown to yield results of very high quality in terms of accuracy and smoothness.  相似文献

Summary Gradient elution RP-HPLC has been applied to the separation of the constituents of synthetic tanning agents. OH and HO(2) radicals, atmospheric detergents, and the reservoir thereof, play central roles in tropospheric chemistry. In spite of their importance, we had no choice but to trust their concentrations predicted by modeling studies based on known chemical processes. However, recent direct measurements of these radicals have enabled us to test and revise our knowledge of the processes by comparing the predicted and observed values of the radical concentrations. We developed a laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) instrument and successfully observed OH and HO(2) at three remote islands of Japan (Oki Island, Okinawa Island, and Rishiri Island). At Okinawa Island, the observed daytime level of HO(2) agreed closely with the model estimates, suggesting that the photochemistry at Okinawa is well described by the current chemistry mechanism. At Rishiri Island, in contrast, the observed daytime level of HO(2) was consistently much lower than the calculated values. We proposed that iodine chemistry, usually not incorporated into the mechanism, is at least partly responsible for the discrepancy in the results. At night, HO(2) was detected at levels greater than 1 pptv at all three islands, suggesting the presence of processes in the dark that produce radicals. We showed that ozone reactions with unsaturated hydrocarbons, including monoterpenes, could significantly contribute to radical production.  相似文献
