Stabilizing an uncertain production system

Consider a production system that consists ofm machines each of which can produce parts ofn types. When machinek is used, it produces a part of typei with probabilityp _ki . Requests arrive for parts, one at a time. With probability _i an arriving request is for a part of typei. The requests must be served without waiting. Thus, if a requested part is not available, it must be produced. We find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a strategy (a choice of the machines to be used) which makes the inventory of parts stable and we provide such a strategy.Two variations of this model are also considered: the case of batch arrivals of requests, and that of a system where the requests can be queued.     

Tactical problems involving uncertain actions

The purpose of this paper is to solve anm-silent versusn-silent duel with arbitrary accuracy functionsP andQ which are continuously differentiable in [0, 1] with positive derivatives in (0, 1) and such thatP(0)=Q(0)=0,P(1)(0, 1),Q(1)(0, 1). Current mass spectrometry strategies for selenium speciation in dietary sources of high-selenium

This document reviews the most relevant mass spectrometry approaches to selenium (Se) speciation in high-Se food supplements in terms of qualitative and quantitative Se speciation and Se-containing species identification, with special reference to high-Se yeast, garlic, onions and Brazil nuts. Important topics such as complexity of Se speciation in these materials and the importance of combining Se-specific detection and molecule-specific determination of the particular species of this element in parallel with chromatography, to understand their nutritional role and cancer preventive properties are critically discussed throughout. The versatility and potential of mass spectrometric detection in this field are clearly demonstrated. Although great advances have been achieved, further developments are required, especially if speciatedcertified reference materials (CRMs) are to be produced for validation of measurements of target Se-containing species in Se-food supplements.     

采用空间量化技术的泉州传统街巷风貌改造策略

以福建省泉州市的传统街巷为研究样本,通过空间量化技术探究泉州街巷形成的大致演变过程与形成逻辑;然后,采用等级、功能与宽度3个因子辨析街巷,并生成一套适用于泉州传统街巷空间的风貌改造策略.结果表明：泉州街巷的主要差异在于等级、功能与宽度的不同,同时等级、功能与宽度的变化也会导致街巷类型的转变,街巷的属性能够通过等级、功能与宽度共同组成的复合评价体系进行辨析;最后,通过梳理泉州现有的街巷格局,并针对街巷分别提出相应的改造策略.     

基于不确定指数O-U过程带有浮动利率模型的亚式期权定价

不确定金融是不确定理论在现代金融领域的一种应用,在解决金融问题中发挥着越来越重要的作用。而利率是一个重要的经济指标,经常受到一些不确定因素的影响,在研究期权定价时,有必要考虑浮动利率。本文提出了一种新的不确定指数Ornstein-Uhlenbeck过程模型,假设利率服从不确定均值回复过程,研究了期权定价问题,运用α-轨道方法,分别推导了亚式看涨期权和看跌期权定价公式。最后,设计了计算期权价格的数值算法,并给出数值算例。     

电力系统潮流计算的模拟进化方法

将模拟进化方法引入电力系统潮流计算。与传统方法比较结果表明,模拟进化方法中的进化策略法可以有效地解决电力系统病态潮流问题。文中还对几种模拟进化方法进行了比较,结果表明：进化策略法用地潮流计算比较成功;基因算法和进化规划法由于方法本身的缺陷,不太适合于潮流计算。     

Computation of suboptimal randomized strategies for steering the random motion of a point under partial observation

Consider the random motion in the plane of a pointM, whose velocityv=(v ₁,v ₂) is perturbed by an ²-valued Gaussian white noise. Only noisy nonlinear observations taken on the point location (state) are available toM. The velocityv is of the formv(y)= _u (u ₁,u ₂) _y (du), wherey denotes the value of the observed signal,U is the range of the velocity, and, for eachy, _y is a probability measure on (U). Using the available observations, the pointM wishes to steer itself into a given target set by choosing a randomized strategy ={ _y :y ²}. Sufficient conditions on weak optimal randomized strategies are derived. An algorithm for computing weak suboptimal randomized strategies is suggested, and the strategies are computed for a variety of cases.This work was partially supported by a grant from Control Data.     

Mixed strategy solutions forN-person quadratic games

Mixed strategy -equilibrium points are given forN-person games with cost functions consisting of quadratic, bilinear, and linear terms and strategy spaces consisting of closed balls in Hilbert spaces. The results are applied to linear-quadratic differential games with no information and quadratic integral constraints on the control functions.This work was supported by a Commonwealth of Australia, Postgraduate Research Award.
