Theoretical and numerical analysis on multispectral bioluminescence tomography

Recently, molecular imaging has been rapidly developed to studyphysiological and pathological processes in vivo at the cellularand molecular levels. Among molecular imaging modalities, opticalimaging has attracted a major attention for its unique advantages.In this paper, we establish a mathematical framework for multispectralbioluminescence tomography (BLT) that allows simultaneous studiesof multiple optical reporters. We show solution existence, uniquenessand continuous dependence on data as well as the limiting behaviourswhen the regularization parameter approaches zero or when thepenalty parameter approaches infinity. Then, we propose twonumerical schemes for multispectral BLT and derive error estimatesfor the corresponding solutions.     

On the solution of Maxwell's equations in polygonal domains

This paper is concerned with the structure of the singular and regular parts of the solution of time‐harmonic Maxwell's equations in polygonal plane domains and their effective numerical treatment. The asymptotic behaviour of the solution near corner points of the domain is studied by means of discrete Fourier transformation and it is proved that the solution of the boundary value problem does not belong locally to H² when the boundary of the domain has non‐acute angles. A splitting of the solution into a regular part belonging to the space H², and an explicitly described singular part is presented. For the numerical treatment of the boundary value problem, we propose a finite element discretization which combines local mesh grading and the singular field methods and derive a priori error estimates that show optimal convergence as known for the classical finite element method for problems with regular solutions. Estimating Sampling Errors in REA Survey: A Model Approach for the Synthetic Presentation of Results for Main Variables Involved in Economic Analysis

A new sample business survey for agriculture, the REA survey, and a project of integration with the FADN network (RICA in Italy) have significantly changed the production of statistical information nowadays available with reference to the agricultural sector. On the basis of this relevant information, new economic analyses are being developed on farms’ performance, agricultural households’ income and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). In this paper the authors estimate the relationship between the levels of variables of interest and their sampling errors using models in order to improve the accessibility of the information on estimates accuracy to the final users (agricultural analysts, policy makers). The paper is the result of a joint research of the three authors. Sections 1–3 and 6 by Pizzoli, Sects. 4 and 5 by Rondinelli, Sect. 7 by Filiberti, conclusions joint to the three authors.

Commutators, C0-semigroups and resolvent estimates

We study the existence and the continuity properties of the boundary values on the real axis of the resolvent of a self-adjoint operator H in the framework of the conjugate operator method initiated by Mourre. We allow the conjugate operator A to be the generator of a C₀-semigroup (finer estimates require A to be maximal symmetric) and we consider situations where the first commutator [H,iA] is not comparable to H. The applications include the spectral theory of zero mass quantum field models.     

Sinc-Galerkin method for solving linear sixth-order boundary-value problems

There are few techniques available to numerically solve sixth-order boundary-value problems with two-point boundary conditions. In this paper we show that the Sinc-Galerkin method is a very effective tool in numerically solving such problems. The method is then tested on examples with homogeneous and nonhomogeneous boundary conditions and a comparison with the modified decomposition method is made. It is shown that the Sinc-Galerkin method yields better results.

     

混凝土动态劈裂拉伸试验的数值模拟

采用LS-DYNA有限元编码程序，对混凝土的动态劈裂拉伸试验进行了数值模拟，给出了混凝土试样在不同类型加载情况下应力分布之间的差异，证实了动态劈裂拉伸试验的有效性，提出了改进试验方法的若干结论．     

环形燃烧室火焰简及旋流器流场计算

本文采用偏微分方程法生成贴体网格,在任意曲线坐标系下数值研究两种先进燃烧室火焰筒及其旋流器三维紊流流场。由于旋流器的形状复杂,本文采用型线定点法确定网格的边界。在非交错网格系下采用SIMPLE算法和混合差分格式对离散方程进行求解。计算结果表明计算方法合理,这计算程序进一步扩展,可用来预估环形燃烧室反应流流场。     

Simulation model for shapiro time delay and light deflection experiments

The time delay experiment proposed by I.I. Shapiro in 1964 and conducted in the seventies was the most precise experiment of general relativity until that time. Further experimentation has improved the accuracy level of both the time delay and the light deflection experiments. A simulation model is proposed that involves only a simple mass and time transformation factor involving velocity of light. The light deflection and the time delay experiments are numerically simulated using this model that does not use the general relativistic equations. The computed values presented in this paper compare well with recent levels of accuracy of their respective experimental results.     

Convergence estimates of Galerkin-wavelet solutions to a Cauchy problem for a class of periodic pseudodifferential equations

A class of Cauchy problems for interesting complicated periodic pseudodifferential equations is considered. By the Galerkin-wavelet method and with weak solutions one can find sufficient conditions to establish convergence estimates of weak Galerkin-wavelet solutions to a Cauchy problem for this class of equations.
