A variety of quaternary and ternary systems of the type of dodecane/aliphatic alcohols/Na-dodecyl sulphate/water or a water-replacing component (formamide, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, propylene carbonate, dimethylsulfoxide, acetonitrile) were subjected to a comparative analysis of microemulsification. The compositions of the systems of the type of oil/surfactant/cosurfactant/water or nonaqueous liquid were changed with respect to surfactant (Na-dodecyl sulfate and triton X 114) concentration, cosurfactant (homologous aliphatic alcohols) concentration and mixing ratio of water and water-replacing component. The appertaining phase diagrams were plotted and compared with those of aqueous systems.The experimental results suggest that the phase regions, which are designated as nonaqueous microemulsions, probably represent, not only microemulsions in the usual sense, but a separate kind of mixed phase whose microstructure is examined by special studies. Analogously to aqueous microemulsion systems, transparency and spontaneous formation of homogeneous multicomponent systems cannot serve as the sole criteria for waterless microemulsion formation. But they are important guiding properties of microemulsion formation in multicomponent systems.The variety of components involved in the chemical composition and the current insufficient knowledge do not permit to generally decide whether nonaqueous systems can be assigned to microemulsions or to molecular solutions. For clarifying this problem a detailed examination of the miscibility behavior, especially that of binary systems as a function of temperature, and the role that surfactant and cosurfactant play in the formation of homogeneous systems will be necessary.  相似文献

Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams have been constructed for the three-component solvent system (toluene+water+propan-2-ol) containing diblock copolymers of poly(styrene-b-2-vinylpyridine-1-oxide). Microemulsions have been shown to form on the water-rich side of the phase diagram, in the region of the phase boundary without polymer. Dynamic light-scattering experiments have led to droplet size values in the region of 100 nm, with the size depending strongly on the propan-2-ol/water concentration, as well as the amount of solubilised toluene in the core. Viscometry experiments have been carried out to measure polymer aggregation numbers in the microemulsion droplets, and interfacial tension measurements have shown that in the absence of propan-2-ol (effectively a cosurfactant) the limiting value of the oil/water interfacial tension, even an saturation adsorption of the copolymer is 20 mNm–1. However, addition of propan-2-ol reduces the interfacial tension to the very low values generall commensurate with microemulsion formation.  相似文献

The phase behavior of the systems water/sucrose laurate/ethoxylated mono‐di‐glyceride/oil was investigated as function of temperature and the weight ratio of EMDG in the mixed surfactants. The oils were R (+)‐limonene, isopropylmyristate, and caprylic‐capric triglyceride. This study demonstrates that the phase inversion temperature (PIT) decreases and the efficiency of the mixed surfactants (γ¯) increase as the weight ratio of the EMDG in the mixed surfactants increases. R (+)‐limonene gave lower phase inversion temperatures and higher efficiencies compared to isopropylmyristate, and caprylic‐capric triglyceride. The solubilization capacity of the system water/sucrose laurate/oil increased upon the addition of ethoxylated mono‐di‐ glyceride which stabilize the surfactant layer and increase the interfacial area.  相似文献

Celecoxib belongs to a new NSAID family specifically inhibiting cyclooxygenase‐2 (COX‐2). The present formulations require high dosage since the transmembrane transport fluctuates and is very difficult to control. We solubilized celecoxib in micelles of nonionic microemulsions and hydrophilic surfactant. The supersaturated solubilized drug was precipitated from the nano‐droplets to form a new solid structure with improved dissolution properties. The selected microemulsion systems loaded with celecoxib were characterized by SAXS, SD‐NMR, viscosity, and electrical conductivity techniques. Precipitation was conducted from W/O as well as from O/W U‐type microemulsions. The crystals obtained by the precipitation were characterized by x‐ray powder scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, FTIR measurements, and microscopic scans.  相似文献

In this work, we studied the phase behavior as function of temperature of water/sucrose stearate/propylene glycol/oil and water/sucrose stearate/ethoxylated mono‐di‐glyceride/oil systems. The oils were R (+)‐limonene, isopropylmyristate, and caprylic‐capric triglyceride. It was found that adding propylene glycol and ethoxylated mono‐di‐glyceride to the water/sucrose stearate/R (+)‐limonene and water/sucrose stearate/isopropylmyristate systems decreases the temperature and surfactants concentration needed for the formation of a microemulsion phase region and no three phase region is observed. In the case of water/sucrose stearate/caprylic‐capric triglyceride system a three phase region is observed. In the caprylic‐capric based system, it was found that increasing the propylene glycol and ethoxylated mono‐di‐glyceride contents decrease the phase inversion temperature and increases the efficiency. In the case where the mixed surfactants (sucrose stearate and ethoxylated mono‐di‐glyceride) were present in the system, the efficiencies observed are higher than those observed in the system based on the mixture of sucrose stearate and propylene glycol.  相似文献

The absorption spectrum of Sudan red III (SR) in oil solutions and a series of O/W microemulsion with surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) has been determined by the UV-Vis spectrophotometer. We found that an association interaction existed between the stain SR and anionic surfactant SDS in water/mixed oil/SDS microemulsions. By measuring the absorbance of Sudan red in a series of microemulsions which has different R values and using the appropriate association models to analyze the experimental data, we obtain the association constants of SR and SDS, and the values of thermodynamics functions of associationΔr G m has also been calculated from the association constants.  相似文献

采用化学滴定方法研究了生物柴油/柴油乙醇水微乳体系的相行为;分析比较了生物柴油/柴油混合比改变对其相行为的影响。结果表明:在不添加任何乳化剂的条件下,稳态相图中存在一个各向同性的单相区,单相区内混合液为稳定、透明的生物柴油/柴油乙醇水微乳化油,表明生物柴油可作为有效的表面活性剂;单相区的面积大小与体系中各组分的含量有关。当乙醇含量及生物柴油与柴油的混合比增加时,单相区变宽;在乙醇含量一定时,形成稳定单相微乳化油的最大掺水量随体系中生物柴油的含量增加而增加。最后得到了不同乙醇含量及不同生物柴油与柴油混合比条件下形成生物柴油/柴油乙醇水微乳化油的最大掺水量。  相似文献

A comparative study of phase diagram features and electrical properties of Winsor IV phases (so-called microemulsions) led to define two types of quaternary systems involving water, a hydrocarbon, and an ionic surfactant/alcohol combination defined byk, the surfactant/alcohol mass ratio. Systems of the first type exhibit a Winsor IV domain consisting of two disjointed areas corresponding to water-in-oil (w/o) and oil-in-water (o/w) monophasic fluid transparent isotropic media. The w/o and o/w areas are separated by a composition zone over which exist viscous turbid long-range organized structures related to the o/w w/o phase inversion mechanism. In that case, over the w/o area, the low frequency electrical conductivity and permittivity undergo non-monotonous changes as the composition varies. From conductivity maxima and minima, it is possible to define in the general case two lines 1 and 2 separating three adjacent sub-areas to which can be assigned compositions representing pre-micellar entities, inverted swollen spherical micelles and micelles clusters. For systems of the second type, the w/o and o/w sub-areas merge so as to form a unique monophasic area, which implies that the w/o o/w phase inversion occurs through a progressive diffuse mechanism. In that case the conductivity exhibits much higher values than in the preceding situation, and its variations with composition allow to define two linesC d andC m partitioning the Winsor IV domain into three adjacent areas. AboveC d , that is for low and medium water contents, the conductivity variations with water content follow equations derived from the Percolation and Effective Medium theories, which indicates that the w/o swollen spherical micelles are submitted to attractive interactions. Below Cm, i. e. in the water rich region, the conductivity decrease with water content results from the progressive dilution of the external aqueous phase of the o/w Winsor IV media. BetweenC d andC m , the Winsor IV media exhibit an anomalous conductive behaviour which suggests that they are neither w/o nor o/w systems. This region can be considered as the diffuse phase inversion zone over which the systems are in a hybrid state that could be depicted tentatively as resulting from the formation of equilibrium bicontinuous structures.
