Functional zinc(II) phthalocyanines bearing Schiff base complexes as oxidation catalysts for bleaching systems

Oxidation catalysis is used to increase the performance of hydrogen peroxide in laundry bleach applications. Bleach catalysts provide cost‐effective, energy‐saving and environmentally friendly bleach systems yielding perfect stain removal at lower temperatures. This comparative study is based on the synthesis of bis[bis(salicylhydrazonephenoxy)manganese(III)] phthalocyaninatozinc(II) ( 2 ), bis[bis(salicylhydrazonephenoxy)cobalt(III)] phthalocyaninatozinc(II) ( 3 ) and bis[bis(salicylhydrazonephenoxy)iron(III)] phthalocyaninatozinc(II) ( 4 ) as tri‐nuclear complexes consisting of two Schiff base complexes substituting a zinc phthalocyanine. Complexion on the periphery to obtain complexes 2 , 3 , 4 was performed through the reaction of a Schiff base‐substituted phthalocyanine using MnCl₂?4H₂O, CoCl₂?6H₂O or FeCl₃?6H₂O salts in basic condition in dimethylformamide. Fourier transform infrared, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, UV–visible, inductively coupled plasma optical emission and mass spectra were applied to characterize the prepared compounds. The bleach performances of the three phthalocyanine compounds 2 , 3 , 4 were examined by the degradation of morin as hydrophilic dye. The degradation progress in the presence of catalysts 2 , 3 , 4 /H₂O₂ combination in aqueous solution was investigated using an online spectrophotometric method. It was found that the catalysts 2 , 3 , 4 exhibited better bleaching performance at 25 °C than tetraactylethylethylenediamine as bleach activator used in powder detergent formulations for stain removal. 在高校图书馆传统功能定位下，音乐元素的融入受到了极大的限制。音乐及阅读心理治疗等新功能的设置，则将音乐元素更广、更深地融入到高校图书馆的工作中，可更好地为高校广大师生的学习生活提供服务。从高校图书馆传统功能定位下音乐元素的融入和高校图书馆新功能定位下音乐元素的融入两个方面，提出了高校图书馆不同功能定位下对音乐元素运用的思考。     

食用蓝藻螺旋藻和葛仙米中金属元素的分析

采用硝酸和高氯酸(4∶1)混合酸消化2种可食用蓝藻螺旋藻和葛仙米,原子吸收光谱法检测螺旋藻和葛仙米中的K、Na、Mg、Ca、Zn、Fe、Cu、Mn、Cr、Pb和Cd共11种金属元素含量。结果表明,2种蓝藻中矿质元素含量均较高,特别是Ca含量高达61 905.132mg·kg~(-1);而有害重金属Cr,Po和Cd含量均远低于国家规定标准,表明这2种食用蓝藻均无重金属富集或污染。本结果显示,螺旋藻和葛仙米是极好的天然富钙营养食品,可作为人体矿质元素和微量元素缺乏症的补给品.     

Spectrophotometric analysis, thermal analysis and gravimetric determination of some metal ions with oxime and Schiff's base derivatives of N-furoylphenylhydroxylamine

The oxime and Schiff's base of N-furoylphenylhydroxylamine form complexes with Co²⁺, Cu²⁺, Zn²⁺ and Fe³⁺. These complexes were studied by means of the UV — Vis. spectra of nujol mulls, electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra and magnetic susceptibility to determine their stereochemistry. The complexes were characterized via elemental analyses, molar conductivities and thermogravimetric analyses. Organic reagents were used for the gravimetric determination of Co²⁺, Cu²⁺ and Fe³⁺ through the precipitation of their complexes. The compounds were also used for separation of a binary mixture of Cu²⁺ and Cu²⁺. Interferences were studied.     

Systematic investigations of the multi-element preconcentration from copper by precipitation of the matrix as copper(I) oxide and copper(I) thiocyanate

Two methods for multi-element preconcentration from copper by reductive matrix precipitation are presented. In systematic investigations on the coprecipitation behaviour of Ag, Al, Au, Bi, Cd, Co, Cr, Fe, Ga, In, Mn, Mo, NJ, Pb, Sb, Se, Sn, Te and Zn during precipitation of the copper matrix as Cu₂O or CuSCN, the separation parameters were optimized. By combination with a hexamethyleneammonium hexamethylenedithiocarbamate collector precipitation, a concentration of 8 elements (Cu₂O precipitation) or 13 elements (CuSCN precipitation) in a small volume was achieved. The limits of detection of the procedures are, depending on the element, 0.1–5 μg g^?1 for flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and 0.01–0.1 μg g^?1 for graphite furnace AAS. The relative standard deviations are about 3%. The analytical performance of the procedures is compared with that of an electrolytic copper separation.     

Semi‐analytical integration of the 8‐node plane element stiffness matrix using symbolic computation

The semi‐analytical integration of an 8‐node plane strain finite element stiffness matrix is presented in this work. The element is assumed to be super‐parametric, having straight sides. Before carrying out the integration, the integral expressions are classified into several groups, thus avoiding duplication of calculations. Symbolic manipulation and integration is used to obtain the basic formulae to evaluate the stiffness matrix. Then, the resulting expressions are postprocessed, optimized, and simplified in order to reduce the computation time. Maple symbolic‐manipulation software was used to generate the closed expressions and to develop the corresponding Fortran code. Comparisons between semi‐analytical integration and numerical integration were made. It was demonstrated that semi‐analytical integration required less CPU time than conventional numerical integration (using Gaussian‐Legendre quadrature) to obtain the stiffness matrix. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Polytetrafluoroethylene and metal structure convective-flow CO laser

A convective flow CO laser composed of polytetrafluoroethylene discharge tubes, nickel–chromium steel components, a cupric heat exchanger and other components is described. Operating in liquid nitrogen condition, output power of 60 W has been obtained from a non-selective cavity.     

A Triangle Inequality for Measurement

We introduce the triangle inequality for measurement. This is a property that when satisfied by a measurement enables one to construct a metric on the set of elements with measure zero that yields the relative Scott topology. The naturality of this construction permits a categorical solution to the model problem in domain theory for locally compact metric spaces. The first time such a solution has been achieved.
