We measured the fluorescence intensity and anisotropy decays of 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene (DPH)-labeled membranes resulting from simultaneous two-photon excitation of fluorescence. Comparison of these two-photon data with the more usual one-photon measurements revealed that DPH displayed identical intensity decays, anisotropy decays, and order parameters for one- and two-photon excitation. While the anisotropy data are numerically distinct, they can be compared by use of the factor 10/7, which accounts for the two-photon versus one-photon photoselection. The increased time 0 anisotropy of DPH can result in increased resolution of complex anisotropy decays. Global analysis of the one- and two-photon data reveals consistency with a single apparent angle between the absorption and the emission oscillators. The global anisotropy analysis also suggests that, except for the photoselection factor, the anisotropy decays are the same for one-and two-photon excitation. This ideal behavior of DPH as a two-photon absorber, and its high two-photon cross section, makes DPH a potential probe for confocal two-photon microscopy and other systems where it is advantageous to use long-wavelength (680- to 760-nm) excitation. 相似文献

The unpinning or propagation field, hp, where domain walls are unpinned and start their displacement under the AC magnetic field of as-cast amorphous wires of nominal composition (Co94Fe6)72.5B15Si12.5, was determined for each torsion angle between –90° (counterclockwise) and +150° (clockwise) at a constant frequency of 1 kHz. A plot of hp as a function of torsion angle showed a sharp minimum at a torsion angle of +120. An exact three-dimensional analysis is developped for an axisymmetric loading acting on the surface of a semi-infinite medium composed by two transversely isotropic materials. The loading is assumed to be parallel to the elastic symmetry axis of the upper layer. The solutions of a concentrated force and a uniform loading distributed on a circle are obtained by exact integral expressions. Suspensions of oligophenylenevinylene (nPV) nanoparticles withn = 2 vinylene units are doped with nPVs of longer chainlengths,n = 3–5. Absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy and steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy measurements
are used to determine the photo-physical properties of the suspensions. Undoped nanoparticles form highly oriented H-aggregates
with low fluorescence quantum yields (ΦF ≈ 0.1). Introduction of bulky substituents into the particle constituting molecules perturbs the intermolecular orientation.
Upon doping, efficient energy transfer to the dopants is found, changing the color and leading to enhancement of the fluorescence

We consider the evolution of curve networks in two dimensions (2d) and surface clusters in three dimensions (3d). The motion of the interfaces is described by surface diffusion, with boundary conditions at the triple junction points lines, where three interfaces meet, and at the boundary points lines, where an interface meets a fixed planar boundary. We propose a parametric finite element method based on a suitable variational formulation. The constructed method is semi-implicit and can be shown to satisfy the volume conservation of each enclosed bubble and the unconditional energy-stability, thus preserving the two fundamental geometric structures of the flow. Besides, the method has very good properties with respect to the distribution of mesh points, thus no mesh smoothing or regularization technique is required. A generalization of the introduced scheme to the case of anisotropic surface energies and non-neutral external boundaries is also considered. Numerical results are presented for the evolution of two-dimensional curve networks and three-dimensional surface clusters in the cases of both isotropic and anisotropic surface energies. 相似文献
