A density functional study on magnetic exchange interaction between Mn(II) ion and nitronyl nitroxide radical in <Emphasis Type="Italic">trans</Emphasis>-and <Emphasis Type="Italic">cis</Emphasis>-metal-radical complexes

The magneto-structural correlation between a Mn(ll) ion, coordinated in an octahedral environment, and two nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands in trans- and cis-metal-radical complexes is investigated by the broken symmetry (BS) approach within density functional theory (DFT). The dependences of coupling constants J on three structural parameters: (i) bond angle θ (Mn-O-N (nitroxide)); (ii) rotating angle ψ, defined by the nitronyl nitroxide radical plane rotating around the axial Mn-O (nitroxide); (iii) bond distance R (Mn-O (nitroxide)) are directly calculated. Our calculations showed that both trans- and cis-Mn(ll)-radical complexes behave a stronger antiferromagnetic interaction, consistent with experiments. In view of molecular orbital theory, the direct exchanges, including σ-type and π-type exchanges, are responsible for the magnetic exchange pathways. There is a preferable linear correlation between the calculated coupling constants J and the overlap integral squares S b between the local magnetic orbitals at the various rotating angle ψ at the fixed bond angle θ and bond distance R, in both trans- and cis-Mn(ll)-radical complexes.     

Proton Relaxometry of Long-Lived Spin Order

A study of long-lived spin order in chlorothiophene carboxylates at both high and low magnetic fields is presented. Careful sample preparation (removal of dissolved oxygen in solution, chelating of paramagnetic impurities, reduction of convection) allows one to obtain very long-lived singlet order of the two coupled protons in chlorothiophene derivatives, having lifetimes of about 130 s in D₂O and 240 s in deuterated methanol, which are much longer than the T₁-relaxation times (18 and 30 s, respectively, at a field =9.4 T). In protonated solvents the relaxation times become shorter, but the lifetime is still substantially longer than . In addition, long-lived coherences are shown to have lifetimes as long as 30 s. Thiophene derivatives can be used as molecular tags to study slow transport, slow dynamics and slow chemical processes, as has been shown in recent years.

应用高分辨率核磁共振仪研究了一系列不同组成的偏氟乙烯和四氟乙烯共聚物。指出,共振核—CF_2—的化学位移不仅受第一、二邻位基团的影响,也受第三邻位的影响。偏氟乙烯和四氟乙烯以无规共聚进行反应,在共聚反应中的链自由基﹏CF_2·或﹏CH_2·容易增长于CH_2=CF_2的CH_2端,而链自由基﹏CH_2·在偏氟乙烯和四氟乙烯共聚反应中的增长倾向于四氟乙烯。     

纳米晶复合Nd2Fe14B/α-Fe合金制备与磁性能的研究

采用熔体快淬及晶化处理工艺制备Nd11Fe71Co8V1.5Cr1B7.5纳米晶合金。经21m·s-1快淬及640℃ 4min晶化处理后,制成的粘结磁体的磁性能最佳,为:Br=0.64T,JHc=903.5kA·m-1,(BH)max=71kJ·m-3。添加Cr元素可提高内禀矫顽力,从而提高最大磁能积。     

The photochemical interaction of polyphenylferrisiloxane with oligoorganosilanes

The photochemical interaction of polyphenylferrisiloxane with some oligoorganosilanes in benzene solutions has been studied by UV, IR, ESR, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Silylene species formed during photolysis of oligoorganosilanes react with the high-spin iron(III) to reduce the latter to low-spin iron(II). The formation of the low-spin state of iron(II) was supported by measurements of the magnetic moments. The insertion of the silylene species into the polymer chain to form the Fe?Si bond occurs due to the photoreaction.     

An optical surface plasmon resonance biosensor for determination of tetanus toxin

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) has been successfully applied for the simple, rapid, and label-free assay of various biomolecules. This assay evaluates a novel wavelength modulation SPR biosensor for the detection of tetanus toxin. The wavelength modulation SPR biosensor is designed based on fixing the incident angle of light and measuring the reflected intensities in the resonance wavelength range spanning 400-800 nm simultaneously. Tetanus toxin (TeNT), one of the most potent toxins known, is synthesized as a 150 kDa single polypeptide chain. The SPR biosensor has been shown to be capable of directly detecting concentration of tetanus toxin as low as 0.028 Lf ml⁻¹. Under selected experimental conditions, the SPR biosensor has a good reproducibility, sensitivity and reversibility. The results illustrate how wavelength modulation SPR biosensor can be used to detect biomolecular interactions.

NMR频率综合器的微机控制

为实现ＰＴＳ系列频率综合器的微机控制，设计了一种简单的控制电路。在微机的控制下，通过该电路与微机的并行通讯口，用Ｃ语言编写的控制程序可以很方便的控制频率综合器的输出频率。控制程序采用菜单操作，电路所需的＋５Ｖ电源由微机提供，整个控制系统简单实用，值得推广。     

Tetra(μ3-hydroxo)hexa(μ2-carboxylato-O,O′)-bridged tetranuclear terbium(III) cubane complex

A novel tetranuclear terbium(III) complex [Tb₄(OH)₄(pybet)₆(H₂O)₈][Tb₄(OH)₄(pybet)₆(H₂O)₇ (NO₃)](ClO₄)₁₄·6H₂O has been synthesized and shown by X-ray crystallography to have a cubane-like Tb₄(μ₃-OH)₄(μ₂-carboxylato-O,O′)₆ core. The ligand pybet is pyridinoacetate, C₅H₅⁺N-CH₂CO₂⁻. Magnetic susceptibility data were measured for this Tb₄ complex in the range of 2.0–320 K and in fields of 1.0 G to 50.0 kG. It is concluded that either there is very weak antiferromagnetic exchange interaction (J = −0.015 cm⁻¹) or there is a small crystal-field splitting of the ⁷F₆ Tb^III ground state.
