A possible counterexample to well posedness of entropy solutions and to Godunov scheme convergence

A particular case of initial data for the two-dimensional Euler equations is studied numerically. The results show that the Godunov method does not always converge to the physical solution, at least not on feasible grids. Moreover, they suggest that entropy solutions (in the weak entropy inequality sense) are not well posed.

     

A new family of proximity graphs: Class cover catch digraphs

Motivated by issues in machine learning and statistical pattern classification, we investigate a class cover problem (CCP) with an associated family of directed graphs—class cover catch digraphs (CCCDs). CCCDs are a special case of catch digraphs. Solving the underlying CCP is equivalent to finding a smallest cardinality dominating set for the associated CCCD, which in turn provides regularization for statistical pattern classification. Some relevant properties of CCCDs are studied and a characterization of a family of CCCDs is given.     

Nonsensitiveness Regions for Threshold Ellipsoids

The problem is to determine nonsensitiveness regions for threshold ellipsoids within a regular mixed linear model.     

Linear EV model with replicate observations on independent variables

This paper studies the linear EV model when replicate observations are made only on independent variables. We construct the estimates of regression coefficients and prove the consistency and asymptotic normality under some proper conditions. Results obtained reveal the difference between the case where the independent and dependent variables are observed repeatedly and simultaneously and the case studied in this article.     

Multilevel preconditioners for a quadrature Galerkin solution of a biharmonic problem

Efficient multilevel preconditioners are developed and analyzed for the quadrature finite element Galerkin approximation of the biharmonic Dirichlet problem. The quadrature scheme is formulated using the Bogner–Fox–Schmit rectangular element and the product two‐point Gaussian quadrature. The proposed additive and multiplicative preconditioners are uniformly spectrally equivalent to the operator of the quadrature scheme. The preconditioners are implemented by optimal algorithms, and they are used to accelerate convergence of the preconditioned conjugate gradient method. Highly accurate calculation of radial spheroidal functions

A new method for calculating the radial spheroidal functions of the first kind is proposed for the arguments that are greater than unity in modulus. A well-known representation of these functions is refined and used for this purpose. The constructs and the software implementation proposed in the paper provide an efficient tool for the calculation of the functions with a desired accuracy in a wide range of parameters.     

200MW汽轮发电机组进油问题初析

对国产200MW汽轮发电机组普遍存在的向机内进油及密封油系统运行不稳定等问题进行了较为详细的分析,指出发电机氢侧回油腔窄小,回油不畅,密封瓦及内油挡安装不良;平衡阀灵敏度低,可靠性差;压差阀发卡发涩,跟踪性能差;密封油箱补排油不畅等因素是造成上述问题的主要原因,并提出了相应的改进措施。
