Approximation of Matrices and a Family of Gander Methods for Polar Decomposition

Two matrix approximation problems are considered: approximation of a rectangular complex matrix by subunitary matrices with respect to unitarily invariant norms and a minimal rank approximation with respect to the spectral norm. A characterization of a subunitary approximant of a square matrix with respect to the Schatten norms, given by Maher, is extended to the case of rectangular matrices and arbitrary unitarily invariant norms. Iterative methods, based on the family of Gander methods and on Higham’s scaled method for polar decomposition of a matrix, are proposed for computing subunitary and minimal rank approximants. Spectroscopy of the regenerative soot

The mechanisms and processes of the formation of the regenerative soot in a graphite hollow cathode discharge that produces and emits carbon clusters are presented. Mass spectrometry with a specially designed E×B velocity filter analyzes the entire range of the charged clusters from C ₁ to ∼C ₄₃₀₀. The state of the carbon vapour within the source is evaluated by using the characteristic line emissions from the carbonaceous discharge whose formative mechanisms depend upon the kinetic and potential sputtering of the sooted cathode. The carbonaceous discharge generates atomic and ionic C and its clusters C _m (m≥ 2), noble gas metastable atoms and ions, energetic electrons and photons in the cavity of the graphite hollow cathode. The parameters of soot formation and its recycling depend critically on the discharge parameters, the geometry of the hollow cathode and 3D profile of the cusp magnetic field contours. 保险在西部民族地区小康建设中的方位和空间

从分析西部民族地区保险业与全国保险业发展水平的差距及背景入手，指出西部民族地区保险业所处的现实方位及在财产保险、农业保险和人寿保险等方面进一步拓展的广阔空间，发挥保险业在风险保障、资金融通和社会管理方面的作用。     

Millikan′s油滴实验数据处理透析

本文从误差传递的角度出发，代入合理的数据，来说明目前高校实验中对此内容的数据处理的问题所在以及应怎样采取措施解决。     

含碳铬矿团块高温还原特性研究

在1250～1450℃高温范围内研究内配碳铬矿团块中Cr2O3还原率和总还原率与内配碳比和渣相碱度的关系,并分析了含碳铬矿团块还原过程中金属相和渣相聚集和分离状态的变化。结果表明,Cr2O3还原率主要受还原温度和内配碳比的影响,当还原温度高于1400℃时,控制适宜的渣相组成和内配碳比,可以实现还原产物中金属相和渣相的完全分离。利用实验得到的条件,可望开发一种新的廉价碳素铬铁的生产方法。     

蔺草染土固色技术及工艺研究

蔺草即蓆草，由它编织而成的榻榻米蓆是日本国的传统生活用品．本文研究了一种适合我国引种的日本蔺草染土固色配方，使用A、B、C三种添加剂，建立一套合理的操作工艺，使出口产品的质量达到一等或二等产品的要求，该技术所需经费不多，经济效益却十分显著．     

基于RBF网络的增量学习

提出了一种基于径向网络的增量学习算法 ,在对新样本进行学习时 ,通过恢复受干扰样本的方式来尽可能保持已有的知识不变 .模拟实验证明了本算法的正确性和有效性 .     

对非英语专业大专生学习方式的调查

对广州部分非英语专业大专生英语学习方式的一次抽样调查和分析表明，非英语专业的大专生最喜欢的学习方式是动手学习方式，最不喜欢的是小组学习方式；女生比男生更明显偏爱动手学习方式；高分组的学生在动手和小组学习方式上的平均分明显高于低分组学生。因此，教师在根据学生不同的学习方式采取灵活多样授课方式的同时，应对学生的学习方式加以有效指导，使学生注意改善并扩展自己的学习方式，从而提高学习效果，取得事丰功倍的学习效果。
