介绍了绿色设计在技术先进性,环境、材料和结构等方面的准则,并运用于塑窗锯铣加工中心的铣削机设计中,表明绿色设计可从技术上保证安全,可靠,经济地实现产品的各项功能和性能,同时只有在设计阶段将产品的“绿色度”作为设计目标,才能取得理想的设计结果。     

Large Deviations of Empirical Measures Under Symmetric Interaction

We prove the large deviation principle for the joint empirical measure of pairs of random variables which are coupled by a totally symmetric interaction. The rate function is given by an explicit bilinear expression, which is finite only on product measures and hence is non-convex.     

Moderate Deviations and Large Deviations for Kernel Density Estimators

Let f _n be the non-parametric kernel density estimator based on a kernel function K and a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables taking values in ^d . It is proved that if the kernel function is an integrable function with bounded variation, and the common density function f of the random variables is continuous and f(x) 0 as |x| , then the moderate deviation principle and large deviation principle for hold.

Single Machine Scheduling of Unit-time Jobs with Controllable Release Dates

The paper presents a bicriterion approach to solve the single-machine scheduling problem in which the job release dates can be compressed while incurring additional costs. The two criteria are the makespan and the compression cost. For the case of equal job processing times, an O(n⁴) algorithm is developed to construct integer Pareto optimal points. We discuss how the algorithm developed can be modified to construct an -approximation of noninteger Pareto optimal points. The complexity status of the problem with total weighted completion time criterion is also established.     

Large Deviation Principle for Additive Functionals of Brownian Motion Corresponding to Kato Measures

Asymptotic Expansion of the Distribution Density Function for the Sum of Random Variables in the Series Scheme in Large Deviation Zones

The work is designated for obtaining asymptotic expansions and determination of structures of the remainder terms that take into consideration large deviations both in the Cramer zone and Linnik power zones for the distribution density function of sums of independent random variables in a triangular array scheme. The result was obtained using general Lemma 6.1 of Saulis and Statuleviius in Limit Theorems for Large Deviations (Kluwer, 1991) and joining the methods of characteristic functions and cumulants. The work extends the theory of sums of random variables and in a special case, improves S. A.Book's results on sums of random variables with weights.     

Large deviations for heavy-tailed random sums of independent random variables with dominatedly varying tails

We prove large deviation results on the partial and random sums Sn = ∑i=1n Xi,n≥1; S(t) = ∑i=1N(t) Xi, t≥0, where {N(t);t≥0} are non-negative integer-valued random variables and {Xn;n≥1} are independent non-negative random variables with distribution, Fn, of Xn, independent of {N(t); t≥0}. Special attention is paid to the distribution of dominated variation.     

On Uniform Laws of Large Numbers for Ergodic Diffusions and Consistency of Estimators

Consider a regular diffusion process X with finite speed measure m. Denote the normalized speed measure by μ. We prove that the uniform law of large numbers holds if the class has an envelope function that is μ-integrable, or if is bounded in L _p(μ) for some p>1. In contrast with uniform laws of large numbers for i.i.d. random variables, we do not need conditions on the ‘size’ of the class in terms of bracketing or covering numbers. The result is a consequence of a number of asymptotic properties of diffusion local time that we derive. We apply our abstract results to improve consistency results for the local time estimator (LTE) and to prove consistency for a class of simple M-estimators. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.
