Geometry of an Accelerated Rotating Disk

We analyze the geometry of a rotating disk with a tangential acceleration in the framework of the theory of Special Relativity, using the kinematic linear differential system that verifies the relative position vector of time-like curves in a Fermi reference. A numerical integration of these equations for a generic initial value problem is made up and the results are compared with those obtained in other works.     

Structure and properties of the mesophase of syndiotactic polystyrene—III. Selective sorption of the mesophase of syndiotactic polystyrene

Syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS) has various crystalline forms such as α, β, γ, and δ forms, and a mesophase depending on the preparation method. In this study, we focused on the mesophase with the molecular cavity of sPS, which is obtained by step‐wise extraction of the guest molecules from the sPS δ form. To prepare the mesophase containing different shapes and sizes of the cavity, two kinds of the sPS δ form membrane cast from either toluene or chloroform solution were first prepared and then the guest molecules were removed by a step‐wise extraction method using acetone and methanol. We could succeed in the preparation of two kinds of mesophase with different shapes and sizes of the molecular cavity. Either toluene or chloroform vapor sorption to the sPS mesophase membranes was examined at 25 °C. Sorption analysis indicates that the mesophase with large molecular cavities can mainly sorb large molecules; on the other hand, the mesophase with small cavities can sorb only the small molecules, and is unable to sorb a large amount of large molecule because the cavity was too small to sorb the large molecules. 含三正辛胺微胶囊对六价铬的富集

本文将对六价铬有效的萃取剂ＴＯＡ（三正辛胺）微胶囊化，制成填充柱型的酸性体系六价铬的富集分离装置。实验结果表明，微胶囊填充柱中每毫升ＴＯＡ对六价铬的最大萃取容量为１５８．０ｇ／ｍＬ，为纯ＴＯＡ液相萃取的４．９倍。微胶囊经碱／水洗涤后，可再生使用。

A highly selective solid phase extraction sorbent for pre-concentration of sameridine made by molecular imprinting

Summary A novel approach to solid phase extraction, based on the use of a highly selective molecularly imprinted polymer, is presented. The versatility of this type of sorbent for solid phase extraction was demonstrated in a model batch-wise pre-concentration of sameridine prior to gas chromatography. Problems associated with leakage of remaining imprint molecules during the desorption phase could be eliminated by the use of a close structural analogue of sameridine as the imprint species. It was found that a major benefit of the imprinted polymer was its specificity, which lead to distinctly cleaner chromatographic traces and ability to improve sensitivity by extracting sameridine from larger sample volumes.

THE PRACTICE OF ACRYLIC SIROSPUN YARN ON THE SEMI WORSTED SPINNING FRAME

The technique of sirospun process is applied on a modified semi-worsted balloonless spinningframe to investigate the effect of spindle-speed,yarn-twist and strand-spacing on yarn properties.Yarn breaking strength,breaking extension,evenness and imperfection are examined on the basisof CCD experimental design.Yarn hairiness is particularly concerned,being found that all spinningparameters tested have significant effects on hairiness and that the minimum number of hairs oc-curs at the strand-spacing of 14.4 mm.Compared to conventional single spun yarn,experimentshave revealed the greatest advantage of using sirospun process is that all sirospun yarns have muchless hairiness.A new sirospun yarn fault,so called“loop”,has also been examined.The most likely cause forthis yarn fault is the strand-tension unbalance between the two strands when low tension spinningis applied.Further analysis and some initial tests have been carried out in the hope of overcomingthis loop fault which is an important obstacle to the application of balloonless spinning.     

Investigation on Ochratoxin A stability using different extraction techniques

The stability of Ochratoxin A during its extraction using different extraction techniques has been evaluated. Microwave-assisted extraction and pressurised liquid extraction, in addition to two other reference methods of extraction, i.e. ultrasound-assisted and magnetic stirring-assisted extraction, were evaluated. The effect of extraction temperature using the cited techniques was checked.The results show that Ochratoxin A can be extracted using microwave-assisted extraction at temperatures up to 150 °C without degradation. Pressurised liquid extraction can be used at temperatures up to 100 °C, for extraction times of less than 30 min. Further, both ultrasound-assisted extraction and magnetic stirring extraction can be applied at temperatures up to 65 °C.High-performance liquid chromatography combined with fluorescence detection using a Chromolith RP-18e column at a flow rate of 5 mL min⁻¹ was used to quantify the Ochratoxin A. The retention time for the Ochratoxin A was 1.3 min. The limits of detection (LOD) and of quantification (LOQ) were 0.03 and 0.10 μg L⁻¹, respectively.
