Topology of complete intersections

Let X _n (d) and X _n (d') be two n-dimensional complete intersections with the same total degree d. In this paper we prove that, if n is even and d has no prime factors less than , then X _n (d) and X _n (d') are homotopy equivalent if and only if they have the same Euler characteristics and signatures. This confirms a conjecture of Libgober and Wood [16]. Furthermore, we prove that, if d has no prime factors less than , then X _n (d) and X _n (d') are homeomorphic if and only if their Pontryagin classes and Euler characteristics agree. A mean value theorem for metric spaces

We present a form of the Mean Value Theorem (MVT) for a continuous function f between metric spaces, connecting it with the possibility to choose the relation of f in a homeomorphic way. We also compare our formulation of the MVT with the classic one when the metric spaces are open subsets of Banach spaces. As a consequence, we derive a version of the Mean Value Propriety for measure spaces that also possesses a compatible metric structure.     

覆盖近似空间的连续与同胚映射

利用一般映射研究了覆盖近似空间的一些性质,并证明了一些结论.接着定义了覆盖空间的粗糙连续映射及粗糙同胚映射.最后在覆盖粗糙连续映射和覆盖粗糙同胚映射的条件下,研究了两个覆盖近似空间的有关性质,进而在某种程度上为覆盖近似空间的分类提供了理论依据.     

Infinite type homeomorphisms of the circle and convergence of Fourier series

We consider the problem of convergence of Fourier series when we make a change of variable. Under a certain reasonable hypothesis, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for a homeomorphism of the circle to transform absolutely convergent Fourier series into uniformly convergent Fourier series.
