A new strategy to design a graphene oxide supported palladium complex as a new heterogeneous nanocatalyst and application in carbon–carbon and carbon‐heteroatom cross‐coupling reactions

The palladium nanoparticles were successfully stabilized with an average diameter of 6–7 nm through the coordination of palladium and terpyridine‐based ligands grafted on graphene oxide surface. The graphene oxide supported palladium nanoparticles were thoroughly characterized and applied as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst in carbon–carbon (Suzuki‐Miyaura, Mizoroki‐Heck coupling reactions) and carbon–heteroatom (C‐N and C‐O) bond‐forming reactions. The catalyst was simply recycled from the reaction mixture and was reused consecutive four times with small drop in catalytic activity.     

A generalised finite difference scheme based on compact integrated radial basis function for flow in heterogeneous soils

In the present paper, we develop a generalised finite difference approach based on compact integrated radial basis function (CIRBF) stencils for solving highly nonlinear Richards equation governing fluid movement in heterogeneous soils. The proposed CIRBF scheme enjoys a high level of accuracy and a fast convergence rate with grid refinement owing to the combination of the integrated RBF approximation and compact approximation where the spatial derivatives are discretised in terms of the information of neighbouring nodes in a stencil. The CIRBF method is first verified through the solution of ordinary differential equations, 2–D Poisson equations and a Taylor‐Green vortex. Numerical comparisons show that the CIRBF method outperforms some other methods in the literature. The CIRBF method in conjunction with a rational function transformation method and an adaptive time‐stepping scheme is then applied to simulate 1–D and 2–D soil infiltrations effectively. The proposed solutions are more accurate and converge faster than those of the finite different method used with a second‐order central difference scheme. Additionally, the present scheme also takes less time to achieve target accuracy in comparison with the 1D‐IRBF and higher order compact schemes.     

One‐pot synthesis of polysubstituted pyrrolidinones using novel magnetic nanoparticles as an efficient and reusable catalyst

7‐Aminonaphthalene‐1,3‐disulfonic acid‐functionalized magnetic Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles efficiently catalyse the one‐pot multi‐component synthesis of substituted 3‐pyrrolin‐2‐ones without using any other harmful organic reagents. High catalytic activity, ease of recovery, use of an external magnetic field and capability of being reused many times without significant loss of its catalytic activity are additional eco‐friendly properties of this catalytic system. Compared to other methods, our protocol has various advantages such as short reaction times, low catalyst loading, high yields, easy magnetic separation and reusability of the catalyst.     

核不均一性核糖核蛋白H2（hnRNPH2）对单纯疱疹病毒（HSVI）复制影响

本文研究了单纯疱疹病毒（HSVI）在感染与复制过程中影响宿主细胞RNA转录，蛋白表达，进而为病毒的潜伏和持续感染创造必要条件．采用基于2-DE分析，人正常肝细胞L-02细胞核不均一性核糖核蛋白H2（heterogeneous nutlear ribonucleoprotein H2，hnRNPH2）在感染HSVI前后存在表达差异，构建pcDNA-hnRNPH2真核表达载体及hnRNPH2稳定转染的293T细胞系的方法，研究在核不均一性核糖核蛋白H2（hnRNPH2）稳定过表达后对HSVI病毒复制周期的影响．结果表明，病毒滴度和生长曲线显示，hnRNPH2可以显著影响病毒复制周期．过表达hnRNPh2的细胞系与对照相比，其病毒滴度明显下降，hnRNPH2在HSVI病毒复制中起到比较明显的抑制作用，其作用机理还有待进一步研究．     

Practical,Ecofriendly, and Chemoselective Method for the Synthesis of 2-Aryl-1-arylmethyl-1H-benzimidazoles Using Amberlite IR-120 as a Reusable Heterogeneous Catalyst in Aqueous Media

A simple, efficient, and environmentally benign method has been developed for the exclusive formation of biologically significant 2-aryl-1-arylmethyl-1H-benzimidazoles under the heterogeneous catalysis of Amberlite IR-120 in aqueous media in excellent yields. The catalyst is recyclable without loss of activity.
