An efficient numerical method to compute solitary wave solutions to the free surface Euler equations is reported. It is based on the conformal mapping technique combined with an efficient Fourier pseudo-spectral method. The resulting nonlinear equation is solved via the Petviashvili iterative scheme. The computational results are compared to some existing approaches, such as Tanaka’s method and Fenton’s high-order asymptotic expansion. Several important integral quantities are computed for a large range of amplitudes. The integral representation of the velocity and acceleration fields in the bulk of the fluid is also provided.  相似文献

The primary Bjerknes force experienced by a population of multiple bubbles in a liquid set in a nonlinear ultrasonic standing field and their translation are calculated and analyzed by numerical simulations. The force field is evaluated by considering the nonlinear bubble oscillations as well as the nonlinear character of the ultrasonic pressure field (both variables are unknown in the coupled nonlinear differential system). The results at small amplitudes agree with the classical theory on bubble translation, depending on the driving frequency in relation to the bubble resonance. It is shown that, when amplitudes are raised, the force field exhibits important modifications that strongly affect the motion of the bubbles and the way they form agglomerates. An analysis is performed on the importance of the terms in the differential system that provoke (a) the nonlinearity of the bubble oscillations and (b) the nonlinearity of the acoustic wave. This study reveals that both features should be considered to better approximate the primary Bjerknes force field. Simulations of the nonlinear ultrasonic field after the bubbles form agglomerates under the influence of this force are also performed.  相似文献

A method for classifying orbits near asteroids under a polyhedral gravitational field is presented, and may serve as a valuable reference for spacecraft orbit design for asteroid exploration. The orbital dynamics near aster- oids are very complex. According to the variation in orbit characteristics after being affected by gravitational perturbation during the periapsis passage, orbits near an as- teroid can be classified into 9 categories: (1) surrounding- to-surrounding, (2) surrounding-to-surface, (3) surrounding- to-infinity, (4) infinity-to-infinity, (5) infinity-to-surface, (6) infinity-to-surrounding, (7) surface-to-surface, (8) surface- to-surrounding, and (9) surface-to- infinity. Assume that the orbital elements are constant near the periapsis, the gravitation potential is expanded into a harmonic series. Then, the influence of the gravitational perturbation on the orbit is studied analytically. The styles of orbits are dependent on the argument of periapsis, the periapsis radius, and the periapsis velocity. Given the argument of periapsis, the orbital energy before and after perturbation can be derived according to the periapsis radius and the periapsis velocity. Simulations have been performed for orbits in the gravitational field of 216 Kleopatra. The numerical results are well consistent with analytic predictions.  相似文献

We present the Stroh formalism for two-dimensional subsonic steady-state motion of anisotropic quasicrystals. Using this new formalism and a series of identities and properties which follow, we investigate subsonic surface and interfacial waves in anisotropic quasicrystals. Our results suggest that there exist at most three subsonic surface wave speeds. This interesting observation is quite different from the unique surface wave speed known for anisotropic crystals. The degenerate case of decagonal quasicrystalline materials is discussed in detail.  相似文献

We present explicit expression of the polarization vector for surface waves and slip waves in an anisotropic elastic half-space, and Stoneley waves and interfacial slip waves in two dissimilar anisotropic elastic half-spaces. An unexpected result is that, in the case of interfacial slip waves, the polarization vector for the material in the half-space x2≥0x20 does not depend explicitly on the material property in the half-space x2≤0x20. It depends on the material property in the half-space x2≤0x20 implicitly through the interfacial slip wave speed υυ. The same is true for the polarization vector for the material in the half-space x2≤0x20.  相似文献

In the present paper, we are interested in the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an isotropic elastic half-space coated with a thin isotropic elastic layer. The contact between the layer and the half space is assumed to be smooth. The main purpose of the paper is to establish an approximate secular equation of the wave. By using the effective boundary condition method, an approximate, yet highly accurate secular equation of fourth-order in terms of the dimensionless thickness of the layer is derived. From the secular equation obtained, an approximate formula of third-order for the velocity of Rayleigh waves is established. The approximate secular equation and the formula for the velocity obtained in this paper are potentially useful in many practical applications.  相似文献

In the present work, the propagation of longitudinal stress waves is investigated with a strain gradient elasticity theory given by Lam et al. In principle, the analysis of wave motion is based on the Love rod model including the lateral deformation effects, but in the same time is also taken into account the shear strain effects with Bishop?s correction. By applying Hamilton?s principle, a general explicit strain gradient elasticity solution is developed for the longitudinal stress waves, and it is compared with the special solutions based on the modified couple stress and classical theories. This work gives useful information with regard to the meaning of the three scale parameters in the strain gradient elasticity theory used here.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of large amplitude dust acoustic (DA) solitons has been addressed in a charge varying dusty plasma with ions following a Cairns-Gurevich distribution. Based on the orbit motion limited approach, the correct Cairns-Gurevich ion charging current is presented for the first time. The expression relating the variable dust charge to the plasma potential is given in terms of the Lambert function and we take advantage of this transcendental function to, carefully, analyse DA solitons in a charge varying dusty plasma with trapped nonthermal ions. Our results show that the spatial patterns of the variable charge solitary wave are significantly changed due to the presence of ion population modelled by the Cairns-Gurevich distribution. An addition of a small concentration of trapped nonthermal ions makes the solitary structure less spiky, grows the net negative charge residing on the dust grain surface, and contributes to the electron depletion. Finally, our investigation is extended to highlight the effect of the grain dust charge variation. We have shown that under certain conditions, the impact of dust charge fluctuation may furnish an alternate physical mechanism rasing anomalous dissipation, which becomes more strong and may predominate over the dispersion as the nonthermal character of ions following the Cairns-Gurevich distribution increases.  相似文献

The local delivery of therapeutic small interfering RNA or siRNA to the lungs has the potential to improve the prognosis for patients suffering debilitating lung diseases. Recent advances in materials science have been aimed at addressing delivery challenges including biodistribution, bioavailability and cell internalization, but an equally important challenge to overcome is the development of an inhalation device that can deliver the siRNA effectively to the lung, without degrading the therapeutic itself. Here, we report the nebulization of siRNA, either naked siRNA or complexed with polyethyleneimine (PEI) or a commercial transfection agent, using a miniaturizable acoustomicrofluidic nebulization device. The siRNA solution could be nebulised without significant degradation into an aerosol mist with tunable mean aerodynamic diameters of approximately 3 µm, which is appropriate for deep lung deposition via inhalation. The nebulized siRNA was tested for its stability, as well as its toxicity and gene silencing properties using the mammalian lung carcinoma cell line A549, which demonstrated that the gene silencing capability of siRNA is retained after nebulization. This highlights the potential application of the acoustomicrofluidic device for the delivery of efficacious siRNA via inhalation, either for systemic delivery via the alveolar epithelium or local therapeutic delivery to the lung.  相似文献

Asphaltene deposition around the wellbore is a major cause of formation damage, especially in heavy oil reservoirs Ultrasonic stimulation, rather than chemical injection, is thought to be a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly means of removing asphaltene deposition. However, it seems to be unclear how crucial features like reservoir pore geometries and ultrasonic parameters affect this ultrasound treatment.In this work, five two-dimensional glass micromodels with different pore geometries were designed to assess the impact of pore geometries on the ultrasonic removal of asphaltene deposition. Experiments were undertaken in an ultrasound bath at a set frequency (20 kHz) and adjustable powers (100–1000 W). Direct image analysis before, during and after sonication was used to assess the impact of pore geometry and a change in ultrasonic parameter on the removal of asphaltene deposition. The effectiveness of ultrasound treatment at various sonication periods were found to be reliant on the pore geometries of the individual micromodels. For micromodels with throat sizes 300 µm and pore shapes as circle, square and triangle, an increase in ultrasonic power from 400 to 1000 W resulted in an increase in the percentage of removed asphaltene deposition after 2 h from 12.6 to 14.7, 11.5 to 14.63, and 5.8 to 7.1 percent, respectively.  相似文献
