Necessary conditions for the optimality of a pair (y*, u*) with respect to the cost functional g(y) + h(u) subject to AyBu + f are given in terms of generalized gradients. Here, g is locally Lipschitz, h is convex, A is a maximal strongly monotone operator, and B is linear. Two examples of applications of our necessary conditions to nonlinear partial differential equations of elliptic type are presented.  相似文献

In several complex variables, the multivariate Padé-type approximation theory is based on the polynomial interpolation of the multidimensional Cauchy kernel and leads to complicated computations. In this paper, we replace the multidimensional Cauchy kernel by the Bergman kernel function K (z,x) into an open bounded subset of C n and, by using interpolating generalized polynomials for K (z,x), we define generalized Padé-type approximants to any f in the space OL 2() of all analytic functions on which are of class L 2. The characteristic property of such an approximant is that its Fourier series representation with respect to an orthonormal basis for OL 2() matches the Fourier series expansion of f as far as possible. After studying the error formula and the convergence problem, we show that the generalized Padé-type approximants have integral representations which give rise to the consideration of an integral operator – the so-called generalized Padé-type operator – which maps every f OL 2() to a generalized Padé-type approximant to f. By the continuity of this operator, we obtain some convergence results about series of analytic functions of class L 2. Our study concludes with the extension of these ideas into every functional Hilbert space H and also with the definition and properties of the generalized Padé-type approximants to a linear operator of H into itself. As an application we prove a Painlevé-type theorem in C n and we give two examples making use of generalized Padé-type approximants.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the equivalence between the existence of perfectly normal, non-metrizable, non-archimedean spaces and the existence of ``generalized Souslin lines", i.e., linearly ordered spaces in which every collection of disjoint open intervals is -discrete, but which do not have a -discrete dense set. The key ingredient is the observation that every first countable linearly ordered space has a dense non-archimedean subspace.

We present a new inversion formula for the classical, finite, and asymptotic Laplace transform of continuous or generalized functions . The inversion is given as a limit of a sequence of finite linear combinations of exponential functions whose construction requires only the values of evaluated on a Müntz set of real numbers. The inversion sequence converges in the strongest possible sense. The limit is uniform if is continuous, it is in if , and converges in an appropriate norm or Fréchet topology for generalized functions . As a corollary we obtain a new constructive inversion procedure for the convolution transform ; i.e., for given and we construct a sequence of continuous functions such that .

For a second order elliptic equation with a nonlinear radiation-type boundary condition on the surface of a three-dimensional domain, we prove existence of generalized solutions without explicit conditions (like ) on the trace of solutions. In the boundary condition, we admit polynomial growth of any fixed degree in the unknown solution, and the heat exchange and emissivity coefficients may vary along the radiating surface. Our generalized solution is contained in a Sobolev space with an exponent q which is greater than for the fourth power law.  相似文献

In this note, we show that a well-known integral method, which was used by Mayne and Polak to compute an -subgradient, can be exploited to compute deterministically an element of the plenary hull of the Clarke generalized Jacobian of a locally Lipschitz mapping regardless of its structure. In particular, we show that, when a locally Lipschitz mapping is piecewise smooth, we are able to compute deterministically an element of the Clarke generalized Jacobian by the adaptive smoothing method. Consequently, we show that the Newton method based on the plenary hull of the Clarke generalized Jacobian can be implemented in a deterministic way for solving Lipschitz nonsmooth equations.  相似文献
