By using generalized invariants, we describe a method for solving a class of higher‐order nonautonomous difference equations. Solvability of the equations of order two, three, and four are studied in detail. Our results explain and extend some problems in the literature. As far as we know, the case when the order is four is considered for the first time in this paper. Uncertainty quantification for linear inverse problems remains a challenging task, especially for problems with a very large number of unknown parameters (e.g., dynamic inverse problems) and for problems where computation of the square root and inverse of the prior covariance matrix are not feasible. This work exploits Krylov subspace methods to develop and analyze new techniques for large‐scale uncertainty quantification in inverse problems. In this work, we assume that generalized Golub‐Kahan‐based methods have been used to compute an estimate of the solution, and we describe efficient methods to explore the posterior distribution. In particular, we use the generalized Golub‐Kahan bidiagonalization to derive an approximation of the posterior covariance matrix, and we provide theoretical results that quantify the accuracy of the approximate posterior covariance matrix and of the resulting posterior distribution. Then, we describe efficient methods that use the approximation to compute measures of uncertainty, including the Kullback‐Liebler divergence. We present two methods that use the preconditioned Lanczos algorithm to efficiently generate samples from the posterior distribution. Numerical examples from dynamic photoacoustic tomography demonstrate the effectiveness of the described approaches. 相似文献

An analytic expression of the potential energy surface (PES) of the ground state of the Ne-HF complex is obtained by utilizing
nonlinear least square method to fit the intermolecular interaction energies [Zhang Y. Guizhou Science, 2003, 21(3): 9–13 (in Chinese)], which have been computed using the augmented correlation-consistent polarized quadruple
zeta basis set aug-cc-pVQZ at the theoretical level of CCSD (T). On the basis of the PES, the partial cross sections (PCSs)
at the incident energies of 60, 75, 100 and 150 meV for collisions between Ne atoms and HF molecules are calculated using
the quantum close coupling approach. The effects of the long-range attractive and the short-range anisotropic interactions
on the inelastic PCSs are discussed in detail. The results show: (1) The long-range attractive well of the EPS makes the significant
contribution to the lower excitation PCSs, especially the tail maximum for j = 0→j′ = 1 transitions, whereas no contribution is to the j′⩾3 inelastic transitions. (2) The short-range (the repulsive and attractive) interaction makes the significant contribution
to the lower excitation PCSs, especially the main peak for j = 0→j′ = 1, 2. As for the transitions of j′⩾3, the short-range interaction plays a key role in the inelastic excitation. (3) Although the positions of the maximums
and minimums of the inelastic PCSs are different at the collision energies, they correspond to almost the same impact parameter.

By using the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant theory, we have studied the dynamical and the geometric phases in a generalized time-dependent A-type Jaynes Cummings model. We lind that, compared with the dynamical phases, the geometric phases in a cycle case are independent of the frequency of the photon field, the coupling coefficient between photons and atoms, and the atom transition frequency. It is pointed out that the geometric phases in a cycle ease can be measured under the case of a stronger time-dependent photon field and a stronger coupling photon-atom system. On the other hand, the geometric phases of the model may be measured in the composition of cold atoms. 相似文献
