Symmetry of the Barochronous Motions of a Gas

We study the system of nonlinear differential equations which expresses the constancy of the algebraic invariants of the Jacobian matrix for smooth vector fields in three-dimensional space. This system is equivalent to the equations of gas dynamics which describe the barochronous motions of a gas (the pressure and density depend only on the time). We present the results of computation of the admissible local Lie group and construction of the general solution of the system. We mention a few new problems that arise here.     

Numerical method for calculation of the incompressible flow in general curvilinear co‐ordinates with double staggered grid

A solution methodology has been developed for incompressible flow in general curvilinear co‐ordinates. Two staggered grids are used to discretize the physical domain. The first grid is a MAC quadrilateral mesh with pressure arranged at the centre and the Cartesian velocity components located at the middle of the sides of the mesh. The second grid is so displaced that its corners correspond to the centre of the first grid. In the second grid the pressure is placed at the corner of the first grid. The discretized mass and momentum conservation equations are derived on a control volume. The two pressure grid functions are coupled explicitly through the boundary conditions and implicitly through the velocity of the field. The introduction of these two grid functions avoids an averaging of pressure and velocity components when calculating terms that are generated in general curvilinear co‐ordinates. The SIMPLE calculation procedure is extended to the present curvilinear co‐ordinates with double grids. Application of the methodology is illustrated by calculation of well‐known external and internal problems: viscous flow over a circular cylinder, with Reynolds numbers ranging from 10 to 40, and lid‐driven flow in a cavity with inclined walls are examined. 陈骥《文则》的现代修辞观

陈骏的《文则》是中国历史上第一部谈及文法修辞的专著，其价值是多方面的，本文从陈骏创作实践中运用多种积极辞格阐述相关的修辞理论，以评价他的积极修辞观；《文则》“虽以事出创造，不无瑕疵”，但论及了语法、句法、辞格、文章、风格、文体等多方面内容，初步建立了大修辞学体系，体现了现代修辞学界所倡导的广义修辞观；陈骏虽是对《诗》《书》《礼》《易》《春秋》等静态书面语言的考察，但用动态的辩证的眼光提出了不少真知灼见，体现了动态的辩证的修辞观。

探讨了后湾水库除险加固工程的原枢纽方案和原枢纽加泄洪洞方案,通过对工程地质、施工条件、运行管理、工程投资等多方面综合分析,最终选用了原枢纽方案。     

Elliptic fibers over non-perfect residue fields

Kodaira and Néron classified and described the geometry of the special fibers of the Néron model of an elliptic curve defined over a discrete valuation ring with a perfect residue field. Tate described an algorithm to determine the special fiber type by manipulating the Weierstrass equation. In the case of non-perfect residue fields, we discover new fiber types which are not on the Kodaira-Néron list. We describe these new types and extend Tate's algorithm to deal with all discrete valuation rings. Specifically, we show how to translate a Weierstrass equation into a form where the reduction type may be easily determined. Having determined the special fiber type, we construct the regular model of the curve with explicit blow-up calculations. We also provide tables that serve as a simple reference for the algorithm and which succinctly summarize the results.     

A fourth‐order compact finite difference scheme for the steady stream function–vorticity formulation of the Navier–Stokes/Boussinesq equations

A fourth‐order compact finite difference scheme on the nine‐point 2D stencil is formulated for solving the steady‐state Navier–Stokes/Boussinesq equations for two‐dimensional, incompressible fluid flow and heat transfer using the stream function–vorticity formulation. The main feature of the new fourth‐order compact scheme is that it allows point‐successive overrelaxation (SOR) or point‐successive underrelaxation iteration for all Rayleigh numbers Ra of physical interest and all Prandtl numbers Pr attempted. Numerical solutions are obtained for the model problem of natural convection in a square cavity with benchmark solutions and compared with some of the accurate results available in the literature. Irreducible Representations of Wreath Products of Association Schemes

The wreath product of finite association schemes is a natural generalization of the notion of the wreath product of finite permutation groups. We determine all irreducible representations (the Jacobson radical) of a wreath product of two finite association schemes over an algebraically closed field in terms of the irreducible representations (Jacobson radicals) of the two factors involved.     

Exact Solution of a Test Particle in Presence of Thick Domain Walls

We have obtained the exact solution of the equations of motion of a test particle near a thick domain walls. From the solution it has been shown that the domain walls have repulsive gravitational fields.
