Nonlinear Boundary Stabilization of Nonuniform Timoshenko Beam

In this paper, the stabilization problem of nonuniform Timoshenko beam by some nonlinear boundary feedback controls is considered. By virtue of nonlinear semigroup theory, energy-perturbed approach and exponential multiplier method, it is shown that the vibration of the beam under the proposed control actiondecays exponentially or in negative power of time t as t→∞.     

Hyers–Ulam stability of linear differential operator with constant coefficients

Let P(z) be a polynomial of degree n with complex coefficients and consider the n–th order linear differential operator P(D). A necessary and sufficient condition for completeness of systems of exponentials with a weight in Lp is established and a quantitative relation between the weight and the system of exponential in Lp is obtained by using a generalization of Malliavin's uniqueness theorem about Watson's problem.

Probability theory and polymer physics

This study applies the theory of stochastic processes to the equilibrium statistical physics of polymers in solution. The topics treated include random copolymers and randomly branching polymers, with self-consistent mean field effects. A new and more natural way of dealing with Boltzmann weighting is discussed, which makes it possible from the beginning of a calculation to consider only the physical polymer conformations. We also show that in general the random copolymer problem can be reduced to the ordinary polymer problem, and treat the self-consistent field problem for a general branching polymer.     

The Sharma-Tasso-Olver-Burgers equation: its conservation laws and kink solitons

The present paper deals with the Sharma–Tasso–Olver–Burgers equation (STOBE) and its conservation laws and kink solitons. More precisely, the formal Lagrangian, Lie symmetries, and adjoint equations of the STOBE are firstly constructed to retrieve its conservation laws. Kink solitons of the STOBE are then extracted through adopting a series of newly well-designed approaches such as Kudryashov and exponential methods. Diverse graphs in 2 and 3D postures are formally portrayed to reveal the dynamical features of kink solitons. According to the authors’ knowledge, the outcomes of the current investigation are new and have been listed for the first time.     

Inverse Bremsstrahlung absorption coefficient in inhomogeneous plasma with nonextensive electron velocity distribution and Tsallis exponential electron density profile

Inverse bremsstrahlung (collisional) absorption of the laser beam is studied in plasma with a generalized (q-nonextensive) electron velocity distribution and some kind of generalized electron density profile. It is shown that for some values of parameters designating the q-nonextensive electron velocity distribution function and its generalized density profile, the calculated absorption coefficient reduces to the already known cases with Maxwellian velocity distribution with linear and exponential density profiles.
