Hybrid density functional theory has been applied for investigations of the electronic and atomic structure of bulk phases, nanolayers, and nanotubes based on titanium and zirconium disulfides. Calculations have been performed on the basis of the localized atomic functions by means of the CRYSTAL‐2009 computer code. The full optimization of all atomic positions in the regarded systems has been made to study the atomic relaxation and to determine the most favorable structures. The different layered and isotropic bulk phases have been considered as the possible precursors of the nanotubes. Calculations on single‐walled TiS2 and ZrS2 nanotubes confirmed that the nanotubes obtained by rolling up the hexagonal crystalline layers with octahedral 1T morphology are the most stable. The strain energy of TiS2 and ZrS2 nanotubes is small, does not depend on the tube chirality, and approximately obeys to D–2 law (D is nanotube diameter) of the classical elasticity theory. It is greater than the strain energy of the similar TiO2 and ZrO2 nanotubes; however, the formation energy of the disulfide nanotubes is considerably less than the formation energy of the dioxide nanotubes. The distance and interaction energy between the single‐wall components of the double‐wall nanotubes is proved to be close to the distance and interaction energy between layers in the layered crystals. Analysis of the relaxed nanotube shape using radial coordinate of the metal atoms demonstrates a small but noticeable deviation from completely cylindrical cross‐section of the external walls in the armchair‐like double‐wall nanotubes. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

In the selenium‐containing heterocyclic title compound {systematic name: N‐[5‐(morpholin‐4‐yl)‐3H‐1,2,4‐diselenazol‐3‐ylidene]benzamide}, C13H13N3O2Se2, the five‐membered 1,2,4‐diselenazole ring and the amide group form a planar unit, but the phenyl ring plane is twisted by 22.12 (19)° relative to this plane. The five consecutive N—C bond lengths are all of similar lengths [1.316 (6)–1.358 (6) Å], indicating substantial delocalization along these bonds. The Se...O distance of 2.302 (3) Å, combined with a longer than usual amide C=O bond of 2.252 (5) Å, suggest a significant interaction between the amide O atom and its adjacent Se atom. An analysis of related structures containing an Se—Se...X unit (X = Se, S, O) shows a strong correlation between the Se—Se bond length and the strength of the Se...X interaction. When X = O, the strength of the Se...O interaction also correlates with the carbonyl C=O bond length. Weak intermolecular Se...Se, Se...O, C—H...O, C—H...π and π–π interactions each serve to link the molecules into ribbons or chains, with the C—H...O motif being a double helix, while the combination of all interactions generates the overall three‐dimensional supramolecular framework. 相似文献

Diffusiophoresis phenomenon of aoft particles suspended in binary electrolyte solutions is explored theoretically in this study based on the spherical cell model, focusing on the chemiphoresis component in absence of diffusion potential. Both the electrostatic and hydrodynamic aspects of the boundary confinement, or steric effect, due to the presence of neighboring particles are examined extensively under various electrokinetic conditions. Significant local extrema are found in mobility profiles expressed as functions of the Debye length in general, synchronized with the strength of the motion-inducing double layer polarization. Moreover, a seemingly peculiar phenomenon is observed that the soft particles may move faster in more concentrated suspensions. The competition between the simultaneous enhancement of the motion-inducing electric driving force and the motion-retarding hydrodynamic drag force from the boundary confinement effect of the neighboring particles is found to be responsible for it. The above findings are also demonstrated experimentally in a very recent study on the diffusiophoretic motion of soft particles through porous collagen hydrogels. The results presented here are useful in various practical applications of soft particles like drug delivery. 相似文献

The effectiveness of Congo red (CR) adsorption from aqueous solutions onto MgAl-layered double hydroxide (MgAl-LDH) nanosorbents was examined in this study. MgAl-LDH was synthesized using the hydrothermal method, and physicochemical characterization was performed via powdered X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared analysis, and zeta potential measurements. For optimum adsorption of CR onto the synthesized MgAl-LDH nanosorbent, the adsorption process was employed in batch experiments. Adsorption parameters, such as the adsorbent dosage, solution pH, contact time, and initial adsorbate concentration, vary with the adsorption kinetics and isotherm mechanism. The results of the batch experiments indicated rapid adsorption of CR dye from aqueous solutions onto MgAl-LDH during the first 30 min until equilibrium was achieved at 180 min with a dye concentration of 50 mg/100 mL and MgAl-LDH adsorbent dosage of 0.05 g. The experimental adsorption data fit adequately with the monolayer coverage under the Langmuir isotherm model (R2 = 0.9792), and showed the best fit with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2 = 0.996). The change in zeta potential confirmed the effective adsorption interaction between the positively charged MgAl-LDH and the negatively charged CR molecules with electrostatic interactions. This work is distinguished by the successful hydrothermal preparation of MgAl-LDH in the form of homogenous nanoscale particles (~100 nm). The prepared MgAl-LDH showed a high adsorption capacity toward anionic CR dye with a maximum adsorption capacity of 769.23 mg/g. Herein, we report a facile method for synthesizing MoCo-layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets employing Prussian blue analog (PBA) as the precursor. The introduction of Mo in Co-LDH modulates the electronic structure, increases the number of active sites and electrochemical surface area to improve the hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution, and overall water splitting activity. As a result, PBA-derived Mo0.25Co0.75-LDH nanosheets demonstrated 10 mA cm?2 current density at only 220 mV and 115 mV overpotentials for OER and HER, respectively. The overall water splitting was attained at 1.52 V cell voltage for 10 mA cm?2 current density. 相似文献
