The Nonexistence of Procedures with Bounded Performance Characteristics in Certain Parametric Inference Problems

This paper gives a condition which implies the nonexistence of parametric statistical procedures with bounded risk or error performance characteristics. Many examples for which such a condition is satisfied are considered.     

Calorimeter energy calibration using the energy conservation law

A new calorimeter energy calibration method was developed for the proposed ILC detectors. The method uses the center-of-mass energy of the accelerator as the reference. It has been shown that using the energy conservation law it is possible to make ECAL and HCAL cross calibration to reach a good energy resolution for the simple calorimeter energy sum.      

Implementation and experimental study on fast object modeling based on multiple structured stripes

In this paper, a practical structured light-based system for fast object modeling and reconstruction is reported. The system consists of an off-the-shelf digital projector, a video camera and a turntable. The system calibration is implemented accurately and automatically by taking a single image of an illuminated calibration template. The multiple color light stripes emitted by the projector adopt only three colors and the color can be modified easily according to the surface texture of the object. This makes the system widely applicable in many situations, and the assumption about color neutrality, which is a limitation to other similar systems, can be largely relaxed. The registration and merging algorithm is greatly simplified by employing a turntable. The validity and high accuracy of the method are demonstrated by extensive real experiments.     

大视场短焦距镜头CCD摄像系统的畸变校正

从光学测量角度出发,结合计算机视觉中的摄像机标定方法,解决了大视场短焦距镜头CCD摄像系统的畸变校正问题。与摄像机标定不同,畸变校正中仅标定内部参数,外部参数作为已知条件。采用线性畸变模型,由最小二乘法解线性方程组得到摄像系统畸变模型的畸变系数。介绍了数字图像中像素间距和光学中心的标定方法。通过比较由标定参数得到的畸变图像和摄像机采集的畸变图像对实验标定精度进行评定,实验结果表明边缘视场(112°)的标定精度达到了0 75%。     

Methods in carbon K-edge NEXAFS: Experiment and analysis

Near-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy (NEXAFS) is widely used to probe the chemistry and structure of surface layers. Moreover, using ultra-high brilliance polarised synchrotron light sources, it is possible to determine the molecular alignment of ultra-thin surface films. However, the quantitative analysis of NEXAFS data is complicated by many experimental factors and, historically, the essential methods of calibration, normalisation and artefact removal are presented in the literature in a somewhat fragmented manner, thus hindering their integrated implementation as well as their further development. This paper outlines a unified, systematic approach to the collection and quantitative analysis of NEXAFS data with a particular focus upon carbon K-edge spectra. As a consequence, we show that current methods neglect several important aspects of the data analysis process, which we address with a combination of novel and adapted techniques. We discuss multiple approaches in solving the issues commonly encountered in the analysis of NEXAFS data, revealing the inherent assumptions of each approach and providing guidelines for assessing their appropriateness in a broad range of experimental situations.

Simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel by partial least squares and principal component regression multivariate calibration

Two spectrophotometric methods for the determination of Ethinylestradiol (ETE) and Levonorgestrel (LEV) by using the multivariate calibration technique of partial least square (PLS) and principal component regression (PCR) are presented. In this study the PLS and PCR are successfully applied to quantify both hormones using the information contained in the absorption spectra of appropriate solutions. In order to do this, a calibration set of standard samples composed of different mixtures of both compounds has been designed. The results found by application of the PLS and PCR methods to the simultaneous determination of mixtures, containing 4–11 μg ml⁻¹ of ETE and 2–23 μg ml⁻¹ of LEV, are reported. Five different oral contraceptives were analyzed and the results were very similar to that obtained by a reference liquid Chromatographic method.

绝压传感器温漂补偿及性能仿真

分析了扩散硅绝对压力传感器的静态特性,提出了线性校正和零点校正方案,并利用Matlab软件对其性能进行了仿真,结果表明:解决了该类绝对压力传感器温漂的补偿问题,用廉价的压力敏感元件实现了对真空压力分辨到1Pa的测量.
