A general theory of critical sound propagation, including phonon-spin-energy coupling, is studied in anisotropic magnets above their transition temperature. The Kawasaki weak singularity in the ultrasonic attenuation is found as a nonasymptotic effect. A new nonasymptotic regime similar to the one in the binary mixture is also determined. Polaron effects on third-harmonic generation (THG) in cylindrical quantum wires with a finite confining potential are investigated. The THG coefficient is obtained by using the compact-density-matrix approach and an iterative method, and the numerical results are presented for GaAs/AlAs cylindrical quantum wires. The results show that the THG coefficient is greatly enhanced and the peak shift to the aspect of high energy when considering the influence of electron-phonon interaction.  相似文献

We study the statistical properties of thermal radiation in a Kerr nonlinear blackbody in which bare photons with opposite wave vectors and helities are bound into pairs and unpaired photons are transformed into a different kind of quasiparticle, the nonpolariton. This paper investigates the statistical properties of the photon blackbody field by using the second-order correlation function, the phase space distribution function, the photon number distribution and the nonclassical depth. We calculate the NMR relaxation rate due to quadrupolar coupling of the nucleus to a local, strongly anharmonic phonon mode. As a model potential for a “rattling” motion we consider a square-well potential. We calculate the free phonon Green's function analytically and derive the low and high temperature limits of the NMR relaxation rate. It is shown that the temperature dependence of the NMR relaxation rate possesses a peak in contrast to harmonic phonons but in qualitative agreement with a recent NMR study on KOs2O6. We discuss the influence of phonon renormalization due to electron-phonon interaction.  相似文献

Nonlinear refraction and nonlinear absorption of diphenylporphyrins with bromination and metallization were studied by Z-scan technique in nanosecond and picosecond regimes. Results show that both metallization and bromination of diphenylporphyrins can cause the regular change of magnitude and sign of nonlinear absorption. The transition between saturable absorption and reverse saturable absorption happens as bromine increases and metal ion changes. The effect of bromination on nonlinear refraction is small, the change of nonlinear refraction is mainly attributed to the metallization. Influences of photophysical parameters on nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refraction have been elucidated using five-level models.  相似文献

Transmission geometry measurements of the efficiency of second harmonic generation in various thicknesses of CdTe samples were made to determine the conversion efficiency dependence on material thickness. Neglecting pump depletion, it is found that for samples of well-defined symmetry, the second harmonic conversion efficiency scales with film thickness, with no observed enhancement owing to coherence length effects. The angular dependence of the observed second harmonic light in films of well-defined symmetry is consistent with second harmonic generation originating in the bulk.  相似文献

We consider the accumulation of immobile particles landing on a one-dimensional lattice and annihilating via the A + B 0 bimolecular reaction. Here we focus on short-range interactions with cutoff. We investigate through computer simulations both the kinetics of the particles' accumulation and also their spatial distribution. The relation between the exponents describing the growth of the particles' concentration and the correlation length of their distribution shows that the kinetics of accumulation is fluctuation-dominated.This work is dedicated to Prof. George H. Giant shape vibrations of fission fragments are described in a simple model which is based on nuclear transport theory. The friction and inertial parameters are calculated within the linear response and cranking theory, respectively. The initial conditions are chosen in the scission region following the conventional picture of the fission process at low energy. A theoretical analysis is carried out to synthesize acoustic material signatures (AMS) of solid plates immersed in water. The distinctive feature of this analysis is that it avoids three major simplifying assumptions of the presently available techniques, which are, paraxial approximation, assumption of perfect reflection and Gaussian summation of the incident field. Presently available techniques can avoid some but not all of these simplifying assumptions for computing the AMS. In this paper the analysis is carried out for lowfrequency acoustic waves generated by a cylindrical transducer without a lens rod. Reasons for these changes in the conventional acoustic microscope geometry is given. The AMS is synthesized for an aluminium plate in presence as well as in absence of water on its one side. As expected a significant difference is observed between the signatures generated under these two situations.  相似文献
