SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF MONOVALENT AND MIXED-VALENCE COMPLEXES OF COPPER WITH 2-THIOURACIL

Five polynuclear monovalent and mixed-valence complexes of copper with 2-thiouracil were synthesized. They were characterized by the molar conductivity, electromc spectra, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Their coordination properties and tentative structures were discussed.     

Application of x-ray fluorescence analysis to investigation of the composition of gunshot residues

We have used x-ray fluorescence analysis to study the elemental composition of gunshot residues from smooth-bore and rifled-bore guns. We have established that it is possible to differentiate between types of projectiles (jacketed/lead), types of primers (corrosive/noncorrosive), and types of propellant powders (black/smokeless) by analysis of the elemental composition of the gunshot residues. We have shown that the mercury content in gunshot residues on the surface of the object carrying the residues steadily decreases as storage time increases. Despite this fact, mercury can be preserved as a component of gunshot residues on the object (cotton cloth) under room conditions for more than 45 days. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 73, No. 3, pp. 320–325, May–June, 2006.     

A Numerical Calculation for Electron Impact Excitation of Copper

The scattering of electrons by atomic copper has been studied using Born approximation and the concept of the generalized oscillator strength (GOS). Differential and total cross-sections for the excitation of the 3d¹⁰ 4p² P state are calculated at incident energies of 100 eV and are compared with other available experimental and theoretical data. The agreement between our calculation for the differential cross-section and the available experimental results is fairly good at the forward angles, while the agreement at large angles is poor. The calculated total cross-sections are compared with the experimental data and those predicted by several theories. It is found that our calculation for the total cross-sections are in a good agreement with the close coupling calculation of Msezane and Henry (1986a, Physical Review A 33, 1631) for incident energies greater than 20 eV. The integrated cross-section measurements of Ismail and Teubner (1995, Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics 28, 4164) are in good agreement with the present calculation.     

镀铜板镀铜量检测分析仪的研制

根据电解剥离原理，采用Cygnal F020单片机为智能部件，研制出的镀铜板镀铜量检测分析仪．本仪器采用微分电位法，使各层界面自动分层难题得到了解决，同时对双电层电容充电电流所引起的测量误差作了修正．该仪器通过USB接口与上位机配合使用，具有小型轻便、操作界面友好和检测数据精确等特点，并具有本机显示和打印测量结果的功能．     

Electrophoretic study of the effect of ultradisperse iron powder on cotton seed proteins

The protein composition of seeds treated with a suspension of ultradisperse iron was studied using electrophoresis on PAAG. Changes were noted in the fractions with relative electrophoretic mobility (REM) 0.11 of water-soluble and REM 0.37 of buffer-soluble An-9 cotton seed proteins. __________ Translated from Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 384–385, July–August, 2006.     

The dehydration of copper(II) acetate monohydrate

The thermal dehydration of copper(II) acetate hydrate has been studied between 353 and 406 K, over a range of humidities. The dehydration is controlled by nucleation-and-growth kinetics at low temperatures, with an activation energy of 154 kJ·mol⁻¹, which changes to contracting-disc kinetics at higher temperatures with a lower activation energy of 76 kJ·mol⁻¹. Frequency factors have also been derived; the value for the high temperature process is low (10⁷s⁻¹) and that for the low temperature step is high (10¹⁷s⁻¹). Optical microscopy has been used to clarify the bulk kinetics; there is evidence for a reactive layer at the surface of the decomposing solid. In celebration of the 60^th birthday of Dr Andrew K. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering study of polymer on metals. III. Chemisorbed polybenzimidazole and its corrosion-inhibiting properties at high temperature

Chemisorption of polybenzimidazole on silver and copper etched with nitric acid has been observed by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The polymer is found to react chemically with silver, forming a complexed film on the surface. The SERS spectra show that polybenzimidazole film inhibits oxidation of the metal at high temperature, unlike chemisorbed benzimidazole, benzotriazole, and poly(4-vinyl pyridine). © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Matrix-Untersuchungen zu monomerem Kupfer(I)-chlorid und seinen Komplexen mit N2 und PN IR-spektroskopische Nachweise und ab-initio Rechnungen

Matrix-Investigations on Monomeric Copper(I) Chloride and its Complexes with N₂ and PN Ligands. IR Spectroscopic Results and ab-initio Calculation In solid argon the reaction of monomeric CuCl with N₂ yields ClCuN₂. On the basis of two absorptions in the ir-spectrum and their corresponding isotopic shifts (_14/15N) and with the help of a normal coordinate analysis, linearity of the molecule has been deduced. These results are confirmed by large scale ab-initio Calculations (CPF, MP2). Reaction of monomeric CuCl with molecular PN under matrix condition is shown to give rise to new absorptions in the IR spectrum which arev assigned to a linear molecule ClCuNP.     

甲基百里(香)酚蓝新负载树脂的特 性及应用

本文以金属指示剂甲基百里(香)酚蓝作为鳌合剂制得具有相应鳌合基团的负载树脂.研究了该树脂的某些分析特性及其在富集天然水中微量铜、钻、镍、锌中的应用.     

钨酸铜的生成及其氢还原过程的研究

本文提出一种生产微细钨铜复合粉的方法。将WO_3(或蓝钨)和CuO均匀混合,在空气中焙烧生成CuWO_4,再在氢气中还原,就能制得微细钨铜复合粉,其钨、铜两相分布均匀,钨颗粒细小且分布狭窄。本文详细地研究了钨酸铜的生成及其氢还原过程,与WO_3相比,发现两者的还原相变过程及动力学过程有某些差异。
