Investigation and reduction of variance of a weighted estimate in numerical statistical simulation

The efficiency of the “value” and “partial value” modeling related to the construction of a modeling distribution for an auxiliary random variable by multiplying the initial density by a value function is investigated. The value function usually corresponds to a solution of the adjoint equation. Conditions under which the value modeling of the initial distribution reduces the variance compared to the direct simulation are obtained. It is proved that the variance of the weighted estimate is bounded in the case of the partial value modeling. This proposition provides a basis for a method for determining whether or not the variance of the weighted estimate is bounded. This method uses the majorizing adjoint equation. Using a practically important problem in transport theory as an example, the asymptotic optimization of the distribution of the mean free path is presented. The application of the proposed method of the investigation of the variance boundedness for the analysis of the classical exponential transformation method of simulating the mean free path of a particle in the one-dimensional and the spherical variants is discussed.     

Autour du théorème de Ferrand–Obata (Concerning the Theorem of Ferrand–Obata)

The aim of this article is to give a new dynamical proof of the Ferrand–Obata theorem when the manifold is compact. This will give us a generalisation of this theorem to transversally conformal foliations ofcodimension greater than three and constant basic functions.

哈萨克族是个古老的游牧民族，近20年来，哈萨克族由游牧转向定居。由传统的较为单一的畜牧业生产向农牧并举、多种经营结合的经济发展方向转变，牧区哈萨克族的生活、生产水平得到大幅度的提高。然而在经济转型的过程中，贫富差距也凸显出来。建立农牧区的医疗保障制度，农牧并举，多种经营，转变观念，是当地哈萨克族民族乡脱贫与进一步富裕的基本条件。

联合功率谱的高频成份对相关峰识别具有重要作用,实验中记录的联合功率谱随着频率的增加其强度迅速降低。为增强联合功率谱的高频成分,改善其调制程度,可对功率谱进行对数变换,从而有效保留更多的高频成份,压低零级衍射光斑,提高联合变换相关器的识别能力。     

Cardy's formula for some dependent percolation models

We prove Cardy's formula for rectangular crossing probabilities in dependent site percolation models that arise from a deterministic cellular automaton with a random initial state. The cellular automaton corresponds to the zero-temperature case of Domany's stochastic Ising ferromagnet on the hexagonal lattice  (with alternating updates of two sublattices) [7]; it may also be realized on the triangular lattice 𝕋 with flips when a site disagrees with six, five and sometimes four of its six neighbors. 首先提出了数据仓库中数据集成的一个总体框架;然后探讨了数据集成在数据仓库设计方案中的作用、所要解决的问题、工作流程等;最后,介绍作者依据这一框架所开发的"铁路货票信息综合利用系统数据仓库解决方案"的数据集成工具DWE-DI.     

The Huber theorem for non-compact conformally flat manifolds

It was proved in 1957 by Huber that any complete surface with integrable Gauss curvature is conformally equivalent to a compact surface with a finite number of points removed. Counterexamples show that the curvature assumption must necessarily be strengthened in order to get an analogous conclusion in higher dimensions. We show in this paper that any non compact Riemannian manifold with finite -norm of the Ricci curvature satisfies Huber-type conclusions if either it is a conformal domain with volume growth controlled from above in a compact Riemannian manifold or if it is conformally flat of dimension 4 and a natural Sobolev inequality together with a mild scalar curvature decay assumption hold. Flow in a waterfall with large Froude number

An approximate method is developed to solve the full nonlinear equations governing two-dimensional irrotational flow in a free waterfall, falling under the influence of gravity, at high Froude number based on conditions far upstream. Schwarz—Christoffel transformation is used to map the region, in the complex potential-plane, onto the upper half-plane. The Hilbert transformation as well as the perturbation technique, for large Froude number, are used as a basis for the approximate solution of the problem. A complete solution, up to second-order approximation, for the downstream free-surfaces profiles, for different Froude number, is discussed and illustrated. The obtained approximate solutions are compared with those of other authors. Favourable agreement with other results suggests that this method is effective in dealing with flow problems strongly influenced by gravity and high Froude number. The results obtained by this method are sufficiently accurate for practical purposes.
