The catalase (fromAspergillus niger) has been immobilized by a chemical method on the pous SiO2 modified with γ-aminopropyltrietoxysilane, followed with glutaraldehyde and by a physical method in alginate and γ-carrageenan

Cold represents one of the major abiotic factors influencing plant growth and development worldwide. We analysed the long-term responsiveness of an Iranian spring wheat (cv. Kohdasht) to cold from a proteomic point of view, in order to unravel the molecular mechanisms helping a cold-sensitive cultivar to survive exposure to suboptimal temperatures. Plants were grown at 20 or 4°C until entering the reproductive stage and a cross-comparison on the leaf proteomes was performed. Quantitative analyses on protein alterations occurring upon low-temperature exposure showed a reinforcement in ascorbate recycling (dehydroascorbate reductase, ascorbate peroxidase) and protein processing (proteasome subunit, cysteine proteinase), as well as the accumulation of the enzyme devoted to tetrapyrrole resynthesis (glutamate semialdehyde aminomutase). In contrast, among proteins down-regulated after cold stress, we could identify some key Krebs cycle enzymes (isocitrate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase), together with many photosynthesis-related proteins (oxygen-evolving complex proteins, ATP synthase subunits, ferredoxin NADPH oxidoreductase and some Calvin cycle enzymes). Physiological and biochemical parameters (such as shoot apex dissection, chlorophyll, proline and sugar content determination) sustained proteomics findings allowing the present research to contribute to the current knowledge on these long-term responses, which may be crucial to stress adaptation under field conditions. 相似文献

The determination of trace concentrations of Hg in water samples by the use of electrolytic cold vapor generation (ECVG) system and AFS was studied. Several buffer solutions were used and the detection limits with these systems were found to be by a factor of 1–2 lower than in the conventional electrolytic cold vapor generation system. Comparing with the traditional inorganic acid, phosphate buffer solution (PBS) increased the signal intensity of Hg vapor from electrolytic generation on Pt cathode and reduced the impact of cathode erosion on the stability of signal intensity. Moreover, buffer solution has better interference tolerance. The effects of the electrolytic conditions and interference ions on the ECVG have been studied. Under optimized conditions and with PBS as catholyte the detection limit for Hg was found to be 0.27 ng L−1. The relative standard deviation was 2.8% for 11 consecutive measurements of 1 μg L−1 Hg. The thermodependence of growth kinetic parameters was investigated for the Antarctic psychrophilic strain Rhodotorula aurantiaca and a psychrotrophic strain of the same species isolated in Belgium (Ardennes area). Cell production, maximum growth rate
(μmax), and half-saturation constant for glucose uptake (Ks) of both yeasts were temperature dependent. For the two yeasts, a maximum
cell production was observed at about 0°C, and cell production decreased when temperature increased. The μmax values for both strains increased with temperature up to a maximum of 10°C for the psychrophilic strain and 17°C for the
psychrotrophic strain. For both yeasts, Ks for glucose was relatively constant at low temperatures. It increased at temperatures
above 10°C for the psychrophilic strain and 17°C for the psychrotrophic strain. Although its glucose affinity was lower, the
psychrotrophic strain grew more rapidly than the psychrophilicone. The difference in growth rate and substrate affinity was

TEM micrographs show that the PA grafts of PS‐g‐PA6 graft copolymers, which are obtained directly by extracting homo‐PA6 out from the homo‐PA6/PS‐g‐PA6 blends, are in the form of wormlike structure. The wormlike PA6 domains can shrink into droplets after annealing at 250 °C for 15 min. The diameter of the droplet determined by TEM and SAXS is in the range of 50–60 nm. This article reports on a unique crystallization behavior of the PA6 grafts in PS‐g‐PA6 graft copolymers. In a DSC cooling scan, PA6 grafts do not crystallize from the melt with a cooling rate of 10 °C/min. However, there is a cold crystallization peak around 65 °C in the subsequent heating scan. This cold crystallization phenomenon, which has not yet been reported in the literature till now, follows well the homogeneous nucleation mechanism and is depressed at relatively slow cooling rates (2 °C/min) or even completely eliminated after annealing within a specific temperature range. It may be caused by the slow diffusion or transport rate of the less flexible PA6 grafts to the crystal fronts when crystallization takes place around its glass transition temperature. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study we firstly report a new electrolytic cold vapor generation system for mercury determination on Pt/Ti cathode in the presence of organic acid catholyte. Comparing with the traditional inorganic acid, formic acid increased the signal intensity of Hg vapor from electrolytic generation on Pt cathode and reduced the impact of cathode erosion on the stability of signal intensity. Moreover, formic acid has better interference tolerance. The introduction location for carrier gas is probably the most important factor that influences the signal intensity of Hg from electrolytic vapor generation. The effects of the electrolytic conditions and interference ions on the ECVG have been studied. Under the optimized conditions, the detection limit (3σ) of Hg (II) in aqueous solutions is 1.4 ng L−1; a relative standard deviation of 2.3% for 1 μg L−1 Hg was obtained. The accuracy of this method was verified by the determination of mercury in the certified reference materials. This paper describes a sintering technique for ceramics and ceramic‐based composites, using water as a transient solvent to effect densification (i.e. sintering) at temperatures between room temperature and 200 °C. To emphasize the incredible reduction in sintering temperature relative to conventional thermal sintering this new approach is named the “Cold Sintering Process” (CSP). Basically CSP uses a transient aqueous environment to effect densification by a mediated dissolution–precipitation process. CSP of NaCl, alkali molybdates and V2O5 with small concentrations of water are described in detail, but the process is extended and demonstrated for a diverse range of chemistries (oxides, carbonates, bromides, fluorides, chlorides and phosphates), multiple crystal structures, and multimaterial applications. Furthermore, the properties of selected CSP samples are demonstrated to be essentially equivalent as samples made by conventional thermal sintering. 相似文献
