A comprehensive investigation on the synthesis and properties of a series of ferrocene‐containing (meth)acrylate monomers and their polymers that differ in the linkers between the ferrocene unit and the backbone was carried out. The side‐chain ferrocene‐containing polymers were prepared via atom transfer radical polymerization. The kinetic studies indicated that polymerization of most monomers followed a “controlled”/living manner. The polymerization rates were affected by the vinyl monomer structures and decreased with an increase of the linker length. Methacrylate polymerization was much faster than acrylate polymerization. The optical absorption of monomers and polymers was affected by the linkers. Thermal properties of these polymers can be tuned by controlling the length of the linker between the ferrocene unit and the backbone. By increasing the length of the linker, the glass transition temperature ranged from over 100 to ?20 °C. The self‐assembly of head‐tail type block copolymers composed of polyamidoamine dendron head block and poly(L ‐lysine) (PLL) tail block was studied using a light scattering technique and transmission electron microscopy. A PLL tail block in a head‐tail type block copolymer exhibits a coil‐to‐helix transition as a result of the change in solvent quality from water to methanol. When the PLL tail block takes a helical conformation in high methanol content, the resulting head‐tail type block copolymer has a defined three‐dimensional structure like that of a protein molecule. Self‐assemblies of such block copolymers having a totally fixed molecular shape spontaneously form polymersome‐like self‐assemblies with an extremely narrow size distribution through converging to a thermodynamically stable assembling state. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, the performance analysis of recharging the borehole by means of exhaust-air energy is carried out. The results show that a vertical borehole used as heat source for a Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) can be recharged in high efficiency. With equal heat transfer capabilities of exhaust-air coil and borehole collector, the system provides a maximum overall efficiency. However, due to ground infinite capacity, the optimum brine flow rate is different from conventional twoexchanger system. The recharging system provides two peak overall efficiencies when the capacity ratio Cr = 5 for laminar flow and Cr = 15 for turbulent flow respectively.The overall efficiency is independent of exhaust-air temperature and undisturbed ground temperature,although the fluid properties depend on temperature. In practical system lower ethyl percentage brine should be chosen if the freezing point meets the system request,which can provide a higher overall efficiency. 相似文献

The effect of the side‐chain length (short side chain and long side chain, SSC and LSC, respectively) of perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomers on the properties of nanofibers obtained by electrospinning ionomer dispersions in high dielectric constant liquids has been investigated with a view to obtaining electrospun webs as components of fuel cell membranes. Ranges of experimental conditions for electrospinning LSC and SSC PFSAs have been explored, with a scoping of solvents, carrier polymer and PFSA ionomer concentrations, and carrier polymer molecular weight. Under optimal conditions, the electrospun mats derived from SSC and from LSC PFSA show distinct fiber dimensions that arise from the different chain lengths of the respective ionomers. Enhanced interchain interactions in SSC PFSA with low equivalent weight compared to LSC PFSA result in a considerably lower average fiber diameter and a markedly narrower fiber size distribution. The proton conductivity of nanofiber mats of SSC and LSC PFSA with equivalent weights of 830 and 900 g mol?1, respectively, are 102 and 58 mS cm?1 at 80°C and 95% relative humidity. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper deals with the shear strengthening of Reinforced Concrete (RC) flexural members with externally bonded Fiber-Reinforced
Polymers (FRPs). The interaction between an external FRP and an internal transverse steel reinforcement is not considered
in actual code recommendations, but it strongly influences the efficiency of the shear strengthening rehabilitation technique
and, as a consequence, the computation of interacting contributions to the nominal shear strength of beams. This circumstance
is also discussed on the basis of the results of an experimental investigation of rectangular RC beams strengthened in shear
with “U-jacketed” carbon FRP sheets. Based on experimental results of the present and other investigations, a new analytical
model for describing the shear capacity of RC beams strengthened according to the most common schemes (side-bonded and “U-jacketed”),
taking into account the interaction between steel and FRP shear strength contributions, is proposed.
