Alternating Sign Multibump Solutions of Nonlinear Elliptic Equations in Expanding Tubular Domains

Let Γ denote a smooth simple curve in ? ^N , N ≥ 2, possibly with boundary. Let Ω _R be the open normal tubular neighborhood of radius 1 of the expanded curve RΓ: = {Rx | x ∈ Γ??Γ}. Consider the superlinear problem ? Δu + λu = f(u) on the domains Ω _R , as R → ∞, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We prove the existence of multibump solutions with bumps lined up along RΓ with alternating signs. The function f is superlinear at 0 and at ∞, but it is not assumed to be odd. If the boundary of the curve is nonempty our results give examples of contractible domains in which the problem has multiple sign changing solutions.     

Reverse Order Law for the Group Inverse in Semigroups and Rings

In this paper, we provide equivalent conditions for the two-sided reverse order law for the group inverse (ab)^# = b ^# a ^# and (ba)^# = a ^# b ^#, in semigroups and rings. Moreover, we prove that, under finiteness conditions, these conditions are also equivalent with the one-sided reverse order law (ab)^# = b ^# a ^#.     

A Generalization of Weak Law of Large Numbers

Kolmogorov's weak law of large numbers for i.i.d. random variables is generalized to a larger class distributions and to a wide class of normalizing sequences. The result is extended to maximal sums of negatively associated identically distributed random variables.     

Variable Structure Control for Unmatched MIMO Nonlinear System with Its Application to MCFC Stacks

A new Variable Structure Control (VSC) with Rapid-Smooth Reaching Law (RSRL) and RapidConvergent Sliding Mode (FCSM) is proposed, which is based on normal VSC system. When it is used to unmatched MIMO nonlinear system, the authors combine the method of Input/Output Linearizing (I/O L) with VSC: they use the I/O L method to solve the “Unmatched“ problem and use the new VSC to get good result of control. After analyzing the robustness of the MIMO nonlinear system, they use this novel controller to the temperature and gas pressure control system of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell (MCFC) Stacks. Simulation provides quite satisfactory performance with unmatched uncertainties and extemal disturbances. Its future actual application is practical.     

麻黄生物碱类化合物电喷雾电离质谱

采用电喷雾离子阱质谱(ESI-MS)法,研究了麻黄生物碱类化合物的质谱行为及分子结构与裂解规律间的关系．样品通过直接进样,进行一级质谱正负离子全扫描(扫描范围m／z：50～800)和选择性离子二级质谱分析(扫描范围m／z：50～200)．流动相：甲醇一水(50：50V/V),流速：0．2mL／min,离子源喷雾电压：4．5kV;毛细管温度：200℃,鞘气流速：40个单位．结果显示,该类化合物在电喷雾电离一级质谱中易得到质子产生正离子,并有部分自发丢失小分子H20的碎片产生．应用碰撞诱导解离(CID)技术得到的二级质谱显示,麻黄生物碱侧链氮原子比较活跃,质谱碰撞容易失去连接在N原子上的取代基团,特征性丢失为CH2、CH4、NH4、NH2等中性碎片．一级、二级质谱图适宜作为麻黄生物碱提取物特征图谱,实验结果可应用于麻黄生物碱类化合物的结构分析研究,并为麻黄药材有效成分的鉴定提供了一种快速、准确的检测方法．

Angular momentum of a brane-world model

In this paper we discuss the properties of the general covariant angular momentum of a five-dimensional brane-world model. Through calculating the total angular momentum of this model, we are able to analyze the properties of the total angular momentum in the inflationary RS model. We show that the space-like components of the total angular momentum of the inflationary RS model are all zero while the others are non-zero, which agrees with the results from ordinary RS model.
