Low-lying states of 6He studied via the 6Li(t,3He)6He reaction

We present the recent experimental results on the ⁶He structure studied by the ⁶Li(t, ³He)⁶He reaction at 336 MeV. Above the conspicuous peaks for ground and first excited states for ⁶He, we have observed a broad structures at E _x∼ 5 MeV, and E _x∼ 15 MeV. The angular distribution of this structure exhibits the dominance of a ΔL = 1 transition, indicating the existence of intruder dipole states at low excitation energies in ⁶He. A slight admixture of positive-parity states in this structure has been indicated as well. Received: 1 May 2001 / Accepted: 4 December 2001     

Influence of SiO2 in SiCp on the microstructure and impact strength of Al/SiCp composites fabricated by pressureless infiltration

The effect of SiO₂ in SiC_p and the following processing parameters on the microstructure and impact strength of Al/SiC_p composites fabricated by pressureless infiltration was investigated: Mg content in the aluminum alloy, SiC particle size, and holding time. Preforms of SiC_p in the form of rectangular bars (10 × 1 × 1 cm) were infiltrated at 1150°C in an argon→nitrogen atmosphere for 45 and 60 min by utilizing two aluminum alloys (Al-6 Mg-11 Si and Al-9 Mg-11 Si, wt.%). The results obtained show that the presence of SiO₂ in SiC affects the microstructure and impact strength of the composites significantly. When Al₄C₃ is formed, the impact strength decreases. However, a high proportion of SiC to SiO₂ limits the formation of the unwanted Al₄C₃ phase in the composites. Also, a higher content of Mg in the Al alloy lowers the residual porosity and, consequently, increases the composite strength. The impact strength grows with decrease in SiC particle size and increases considerably when the residual porosity is less than 1%. Magnetic behavior of the bond random mixed compound FE(BR x I1−x )2(x = 0.9) with Mössbauer spectroscopy

The bond random mixed compound Fe(Br_0.9I_0.1)₂ has been studied by magnetization and Mössbauer measurements. Although the zero-field cooled and field-cooled magnetization variations are not like a typical spin glass one, the Mössbauer spectrum below Néel temperature shows a hyperfine field distribution. It implies that the 10% FeI₂ mixed in FeBr₂ can be induced by the bond random effect which causes the sample to exhibit a spin glass-like behavior.

从地质条件出发,详细分析了滑坡的成因,以大型的岩土工程数值分析软件(ADINA)为研究手段,建立有限元计算模型,用强度折减的方法分析了滑坡体在初始工况、蓄水工况、暴雨工况、水位骤降工况和地震工况下的稳定情况,根据滑坡的失稳情况,在综合考虑的基础上,提出了削坡减载和地表排水相结合的治理措施,计算结果表明,治理措施是可行的,研究结果对设计和施工具有较大的参考价值.     

Unsaturated bond existing in tetrafluoroethylene-propylene-vinylidene fluoride terpolymer

Infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies have been applied for quantitative comparison on unsaturated bonds in tetrafluoroethylene (TFE)-propylene (P)-vinylidene fluoride (VdF) terpolymers. These spectroscopies have led to consistent results while they are based on completely different principles. It is shown that the absolute concentration can be evaluated from NMR measurements. The behavior of unsaturation has been discussed in terms of after-treatment such as wet and dry treatments. The result obtained here can give the important information to improve the performance of fluoroelastomer based on TFE-P-VdF terpolymers.

Study of local lattice relaxation of substitutional impurities in silicon and germanium

Local lattice relaxation of substitutional donors in silicon investigated using self‐consistent multiple scattering Xα (MSXα) method within the framework of the standard muffin‐tin potential approximation is extended to substitutional donors in germanium and substitutional acceptors in both silicon and germanium. Incorporating the effect of lattice relaxation surrounding the impurity makes the model suitable for both shallow and deep levels. Chemical trends of some aspects of impurity states, such as local lattice relaxation and charge transfer, of the impurities both in silicon and germanium are inferred. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
