两类拟共形映射的掩盖定理

In this paper we define two classes of quasiconformal mappings,and study their covering properties by methods of module.We obtain some new results.In the meantime,we give new methods to prove Koebe 1/2 covering theorem on convex conformal mappings.     

A new trust region technique for the maximum weight clique problem

A new simple generalization of the Motzkin-Straus theorem for the maximum weight clique problem is formulated and directly proved. Within this framework a trust region heuristic is developed. In contrast to usual trust region methods, it regards not only the global optimum of a quadratic objective over a sphere, but also a set of other stationary points of the program. We formulate and prove a condition when a Motzkin-Straus optimum coincides with such a point. The developed method has complexity O(n³), where n is the number of vertices of the graph. It was implemented in a publicly available software package QUALEX-MS.Computational experiments indicate that the algorithm is exact on small graphs and very efficient on the DIMACS benchmark graphs and various random maximum weight clique problem instances.     

二阶非线性微分方程的斜周期边值问题

In this paper a uniqueness theorem for a skewperiodic boundary value problem is obtained. By using the optimal control method, we derive the best estimate for the integration mean ensuring that the results hold.     

Darboux transformation and solitons of Yang-Mills-Higgs equations in R2,1

The Darboux transformations for soliton equations are applied to the Yang-Mills-Higgs equations.New solutions can be obtained from a known one via universal and purely algebraic formulas. SU(N) soliton solutions are constructed with explicit formulas. The interaction of solitons is described by the splitting theorem:each p-soliton is splitting into p single solitons asymptotically as t →±∞.     

A simple proof of Sanov’s theorem*

A simple self-contained proof of Sanov's theorem in τ-topology is given, well suited for a first course on large deviations. *This work was supported by the Hungarian National Foundation for Scientific Research under Grant T046376     

An expansion in the exponent for compound binomial approximations

The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, we introduce a new asymptotic expansion in the exponent for the compound binomial approximation of the generalized Poisson binomial distribution. The dependence of its accuracy on the symmetry and shifting of distributions is investigated. Second, for compound binomial and compound Poisson distributions, we present new smoothness estimates, some of which contain explicit constants. Finally, the ideas used in this paper enable us to prove new precise bounds in the compound Poisson approximation. An Informational Approach to the Sinusoidal Law of Photon Polarization

The photon polarization law po ＝ sin2θ is derived from a simple informational consideration by twomethods: The first is via an intuitive principle of mininum Fisher information, the second is via a symmetry andinvariance argument. The results demonstrate that in photon polarization, Nature has a tendency to hide herselfas deepas possible while obeying some regular conditions.
