Crystal structure of the Molybdenum(V) Diphosphate KMoP2O8 isotypic with KNbP2O8

A new molybdenum(V) diphosphate KMoP₂O₈ has been isolated. The single crystal X-ray diffraction study of this phase has shown that it is isotypic with KNbP₂O₈. It crystallizes in the P2₁/n space group a = 5.0862(4), b = 11.720(1), c = 11.486(1) Å, β = 90.91(1)°. The structure of this phase is compared with those of other molybdenum(V) diphosphates. This tunnel structure is described in terms of [MP₂O₈]₈∞ ribbons running along ā, showing close relationships with the titanophosphate NaTiP₂O₇. The existence of one free apex for each MoO₆ octahedron and each P₂O₇ group, respectively, is emphasized, allowing a great flexibility of the structure.

高岭石无定形化的动力学研究

Amorphous kaolinite derivatives were prepared through mixing kaolinite with HCOOK and KOH solution. Ki-netics of kaolinite being turned into amorphous derivatvies was investigated by XRD. It showed that the transfor-mation included dynamic and diffuse controlling stages. And the active energy E₁=26.8kJ·mol^-1; E₂=12.2 kJ·mol^-1. TEM and SEM images showed that particle size of the amorphous derivatives was about 50nm. And the amorphous derivatives seemed like alumnsilicate gel， accompanied by some aggregates.     

Simple and versatile operational fractionation of Fe and Zn in dietary products by solid phase extraction on ion exchange resins

A simple and versatile protocol, based on use of solid phase extraction on strong ion exchangers and off-line detection by flame atomic absorption spectrometry, was devised to fractionate iron and zinc in common dietary food and beverages products, i.e., bee honeys, fruit juices and tea infusions. In the procedure proposed, cation exchanger Dowex 50Wx4 and anion exchanger Dowex 1x4 were used separately for distinguishing broadly meant the cationic metal fraction and the fraction of stable anionic metal complexes, respectively, after retention of metal species and their exhaustive elution by means of a 4.0 mol l⁻¹ HCl solution. The third fraction, referred to the residual metal species, was retrieved by difference between total soluble metal contents and sum of metal quantities in separated cationic and anionic fractions. The fractionation pattern observed for both metals was described and discussed.

Application of thermal analysis to study of the synthesis of K0.5Bi0.5Tio3 ferroelectric

Synthesis of potassium bismuth titanate ferroelectric by heating of mixtures prepared using oxide precursors, i.e. Bi₂O₃, TiO₂ and K₂CO₃ was investigated. DTA, TG, XRD and SEM methods were used to study the formation of intermediate compounds and the final product. Usage of associated homogenization and grinding of precursors mixture permits to decrease the temperature of formation of K_0.5Bi_0.5TiO₃. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Geranylgeraniol formation in Croton stellatopilosus proceeds via successive monodephosphorylations of geranylgeranyl diphosphate

The process of catalytic dephosphorylation of geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGPP) to give geranylgeraniol (GGOH) in Croton stellatopilosus leaves was examined by in vivo chloroplast feedings with [1-³H]GGPP and [1-³H]GGMP and in vitro enzyme-catalyzed reactions. The results strongly suggest that the formation of GGOH from GGPP proceeds in the chloroplasts via two successive monodephosphorylation reactions. Hence, we name the enzyme geranylgeranyl diphosphate phosphatase rather than geranylgeranyl diphosphatase based on its catalytic mechanism.     

Anion control of isomerism, crystal packing and binding properties in a mononuclear zinc complex

The coordination chemistry of the tetradentate pyridyl N-donor ligand cis-3,5-bis-[2-pyridinyleneamin]-trans-hydroxycyclohexane (DDOP) has been investigated with zinc(II) nitrate and triflate. The resulting complexes, [Zn(DDOP)(H₂O)(NO₃)](NO₃) (1), and [Zn(DDOP)(H₂O)(OTf)](OTf) (2) differ not only in their counterions, but also the arrangement of the axial ligands and their solid state hydrogen bonded networks. Isothermal titration calorimetry was used to assess the difference in binding properties exhibited by the two zinc complexes at physiological pH in an aqueous environment. A series of coordinating amino acids were found to preferentially bind to the mononuclear zinc triflate (1) complex over the corresponding nitrate (2) assembly, with histidine exhibiting a two centre binding mode.     

锌与小儿神经系统及代谢性疾病

综述了锌在小儿神经系统疾病和内分泌代谢性疾病中的作用及临床意义，尤其是对癫痫的发病起重要作用，大量资料证明高锌与癫痫发作有关，其血锌值明显高于健康儿童，因此在治疗中不要轻易补锌。还综述了锌与智能发育障碍、生长发育障碍、多动症、胎儿畸形、遗传性感音神经性聋等疾病的关系及在治疗糖尿病、肝豆状核变性等内分泌和代谢性疾病时要注意维持锌的正常动态平衡。     

Electroless preparation and electrochemical behavior of a platinum-doped nickel hexacyanoferrate film–zinc modified electrode: catalytic ability of the electrode for electrooxidation of methanol

The use of a zinc substrate as an electrode and the modification of its surface by means of a thin film of platinum-doped nickel hexacyanoferrate (Pt-NiHCF) were developed. The modification conditions of the zinc surface including the electroless deposition of metallic nickel on the electrode surface from NiCl₂ solution, chemical derivatization of the deposited nickel to the NiHCF film in 0.5 M K₃[Fe(CN)₆] solution, and electrochemical penetration of metallic platinum into the modified film are described. The modified zinc electrodes prepared under optimum conditions show a well-defined redox couple due to the [Ni^IIFe^III/II(CN)₆]^1–/2– system. The effects of pH, the alkali metal cation, and the anion of the supporting electrolyte on the electrochemical characteristics of the modified electrode were studied in detail. The diffusion coefficients of hydrated alkali metal cations in the film (D), the transfer coefficient (), and the transfer rate constant for the electron (k_s) were calculated in the presence of some alkali metal cations. The electrocatalytic activity of the modified electrode for methanol oxidation was demonstrated. The stability of the modified electrode under various experimental conditions was investigated.
