Small bimetallic Pd-Fe particles supported on a well ordered alumina film grown on NiAl (1 1 0) were studied focusing on the geometric, electronic, adsorption, as well as magnetic properties. The morphology, growth mode and surface composition were investigated by combining scanning tunneling microscopy (STM), temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) and infrared spectroscopy (IRAS) using CO as a probe molecule. Information on the electronic properties of the bimetallic systems was obtained by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). These measurements were amended by in situ ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy to address the magnetic properties of the bimetallic particles. The subsequent deposition of the metals at 300 K varying the order of metal deposition resulted in two distinct bimetallic systems. Pd deposited on existing Fe particles forms a shell, however, FMR and XPS suggest that intermixing of Pd and Fe occurs to some extent. For the reverse order, a larger amount of Fe is required to coat Pd particles, due to the strong tendency of Pd to segregate to the surface of the particles. 相似文献

Segregation and selective oxidation phenomena of minor alloying elements during annealing of steel sheets lead to the formation of bare spots after hot dip galvanizing. In order to understand the influence of common alloying elements on the surface chemistry after annealing, model alloys of binary (Fe-2Si, Fe-2Mn and Fe-0.8Cr), ternary (Fe-2Mn-2Si, Fe-2Mn-0.8Cr and Fe-2Si-0.8Cr) and quarternary (Fe-2Mn-2Si-0.8Cr) systems were investigated. The specimens were annealed for 60 s at 820 °C in N2-5% H2 gas atmospheres with different dew points −80 and −40 °C, respectively. Surface chemistry of the annealed specimens was obtained by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) was used to view surface morphology. At low dew point −80 °C, apart from the thermodynamical calculations such as solubility product of oxides and their critical solute concentrations, kinetics play a decisive role on the selective oxidation, i.e. oxygen competition. As expected, the amount of external selective oxidation of alloying elements are well pronounced at higher dew point −40 °C. An attempt has been made to explain the dominant process of Si and Mn on Cr-oxidation and segregation. It is observed that annealing of quarternary system at higher dew point shifts the Cr-oxidation from external to internal. 相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the Co site configuration in Zn1−xCoxO thin films by means of different spectroscopic techniques. Thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition with Co proportion from 1% to 30%. The Co 2p doublet observed in the X-ray photoelectron spectra exhibits the spin–orbit splitting and shake-up satellites typical of Co+2 ionization states. X-ray absorption spectra at the Co K-edge, taken in fluorescence mode, unambiguously show that Co atoms are in tetrahedral configuration substituting for Zn over the whole composition range. Optical absorption spectra provide further evidence of the tetrahedral coordination of Co cations, both through the internal transitions in the Co 3d shell and through the shift to higher energies of the band-to-band absorption edge with the increase of the Co proportion. 相似文献

The degradation of the cathodoluminescence (CL) intensity of cerium-doped yttrium silicate (Y2SiO5:Ce) phosphor powders was investigated for possible application in low voltage field emission displays (FEDs). Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and CL spectroscopy were used to monitor changes in the surface chemical composition and luminous efficiency of commercially available Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor powders. The degradation of the CL intensity for the powders is consistent with a well-known electron-stimulated surface chemical reaction (ESSCR) model. It was shown with XPS and CL that the electron stimulated reaction led to the formation of a luminescent silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer on the surface of the Y2SiO5:Ce phosphor powder. XPS also indicated that the Ce concentration in the surface layer increased during the degradation process and the formation of CeO2 and CeH3 were also part of the degradation process. The CL intensity first decreased until about 300 C cm−2 and then increased due to an extra peak arising at a wavelength of 650 nm. 相似文献

The interaction and the durability to laundering of a cationic β‐cyclodextrin derivative applied to Tencel were examined by x‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The N1(s) XPS spectra of the cationic β‐cyclodextrin treated substrates revealed the presence of the applied finish on the fibre surface and that the durability of the applied finish to hand‐wash was good. Sol-gel derived Mg doped tin oxide (Sn1−xMgxO2) nanocrystals were synthesized with x ranging between 0.5 and 7 at. %. Characteristic single phase tetragonal structure of pure and doped samples was obtained and doping saturation was inferred by X-ray diffraction analysis. Structural, morphological and phase informations were obtained by high resolution transmission electron microscope, field emission scanning electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy respectively whereas bonding information was obtained from Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy. Measurement of different electrical parameters with frequency (200 Hz-105 Hz) has been carried out at room temperature. Ultrahigh dielectric constant and metallic AC conductivity were observed for undoped tin oxide and the profiles reflected highly sensitive changes in the atomic and interfacial polarizability generated by doping concentrations. Relaxation spectra of tangent loss of any sample did not show any loss peak within the frequency range. Both the grain and grain boundary contributions are observed to increase as the doping concentration increased. Results of first principle calculation based on density functional theory indicated effective Fermi level (EF) suppression due to Mg doping which is responsible for the experimentally observed conductivity variation. AC conductivity was found to depend strongly on the doping concentration and the defect chemistry of the compound. Mg doped SnO2 may find applications as a low loss dielectric and high density energy storage material. 相似文献

In solution, hypochlorous acid (HOCl) reacts with organic matter and notably with protein side-chains. In this study, HOCl was produced by an electrochemical way, by oxidation of chloride ions at a transparent tin dioxide electrode in the presence of a protein, the bovine serum albumin (BSA). A thick irregular layer is formed at the electrode when HOCl is produced at the SnO2 surface. Indeed, SEM analyses show that an important deposit is formed during the anodic polarization of SnO2 in the presence of chloride ions and proteins. Actually, two phenomena take place on the one hand the chlorination of the proteins due to the reaction of HOCl with some protein side-chains and on the other hand the aggregation of proteins onto the SnO2 surface. The present X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study points out the cross-linking of BSA molecules via formation of inter molecular sulfonamide groups. It also shows that the BSA chlorination is due on the one hand to the formation of sulfonyl chloride groups (-SO2Cl) and on the other hand to formation of chloramine groups (N-Cl). The Cl2p and S2p photo-peak intensities allowed us to quantify the chloramines. It is found that, one BSA entity immobilized onto the SnO2 surface contains about 50 chloramine groups. 相似文献

A quantitative study of the surface composition of ferric oxide employing photoemission spectra is presented. It was possible to accurately reproduce the expected composition (Fe2.00±0.05O3) by modeling the background as a combination of Shirley‐type (Shirley–Vegh–Salvi–Castle) and slope backgrounds through the active approach. The line‐shape employed to fit apparent peak asymmetries was the double‐Lorentzian. It was possible to resolve a previously unreported satellite located at ~729 eV. 用共蒸发法在室温下制备了ZnTe及ZnTe:Cu多晶薄膜,测量了电导率温度曲线,发现不掺杂的ZnTe薄膜的暗电导随温度的增加而线形增加,呈常规的半导体材料特征;掺Cu的ZnTe薄膜在温度较低时,lnσ随温度升高而缓慢增加,随后缓慢降低,达到一极小值,当温度继续升高时又陡然增加,呈现异常现象。用XPS研究了N2气氛下退火前后表面状态,发现不掺Cu的ZnTe薄膜呈现富Te现象。掺Cu后Te氧化明显,以ZnTe形式存在的Te明显减少;ZnTe:Cu薄膜中Zn的含量在退火前后变化明显,退火前,Zn主要以ZnTe形式存在,退火后Zn原子向表面扩散,使表面成分更加均匀,谱峰变宽;退火时,部分Cu原子进入晶格形成CuxTe相,引起载流子浓度变化,导致ZnTe:Cu多晶薄膜的电导温度关系异常。 相似文献
