It was demonstrated that nanobodies with an in vitro neutralizing activity against poliovirus type 1 interact with native virions. Here, the use of capillary electrophoresis was investigated as an alternative technique for the evaluation of the formation of nanobody–poliovirus complexes, and therefore predicting the in vitro neutralizing activity of the nanobodies. The macromolecules are preincubated offline in a specific nanobody‐to‐virus ratio and analyzed by capillary electrophoresis with UV detection. At low nanobody‐to‐virus ratios, a clear shift in migration time of the viral peak was observed. A broad peak was obtained, indicating the presence of a heterogeneous population of nanobody–virion complexes, caused by the binding of different numbers of nanobodies to the virus particle. At elevated nanobody‐to‐virus ratios, a cluster of peaks appeared, showing an additional increase in migration times. It was shown that, at these high molar excesses, aggregates were formed. The developed capillary electrophoresis method can be used as a rapid, qualitative screening for the affinity between poliovirus and nanobodies, based on a clearly visible and measurable shift in migration time. The advantages of this technique include that there is no need for antigen immobilization as in enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays or surface plasmon resonance for the use of radiolabeled virus or for the performance of labor‐ and time‐intensive plaque‐forming neutralization assays. 相似文献

This Letter investigates generalized function synchronization of continuous and discrete complex networks by impulsive control. By constructing the reasonable corresponding impulsively controlled response networks, some criteria and corollaries are derived for the generalized function synchronization between the impulsively controlled complex networks, continuous and discrete networks are both included. Furthermore, the generalized linear synchronization and nonlinear synchronization are respectively illustrated by several examples. Defect turbulence described by the one-dimensional complex Ginzburg–Landau equation is investigated and analyzed via a birth–death process of the local structures composed of defects, holes, and modulated amplitude waves (MAWs). All the number statistics of each local structure, in its stationary state, are subjected to Poisson statistics. In addition, the probability density functions of interarrival times of defects, lifetimes of holes, and MAWs show the existence of long-memory and some characteristic time scales caused by zigzag motions of oscillating traveling holes. A growing interest exists currently in the analysis of time series by the complex network theory. Here we present a simple and quick way for mapping time series to complex networks. Using a simple rule allows us to transform time series into a textual sequence then we divide it into words with fixed size. Distinct words are nodes of the network, and we have complete control on the network scale by adjusting the word size. Two nodes are linked if their associated words co-occur in sequence. We show that the network topological measures quantify the persistence and the long range correlations in fractional Brownian processes. For a particular word size we assume some relations between the topological measures and the Hurst exponent which characterised the persistence in fractional Brownian processes. 相似文献

A new composite complex of [La(NMP)4(H2O)4][HSiMo12O40]·2NMP·H2O (NMP = N-methyl-2- pyrrolidone) was synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, ESR, TG-DTA and single crystal structural analysis. The water and organic ligands (NMP) coordinate directly with La(III) to form a dodecahedral complex and the SiMo12O4? 40 anion is the counter ion. IR and X-ray analysis show that there is strong interaction between the polyoxometalate and organic donors. The complex is strongly photosensitive under irradiation with sunlight, resulting in a charge-transfer complex by oxidation of the N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and reduction of the polyoxometalate. Low temperature ESR spectra indicate thermal electron delocalization among the Mo atoms in the title compound. 相似文献

From a complex network perspective, this study sets out two aims around the US airport network (USAN) which is built from en-route location information of domestic flights in the US. First, we analyze the structural properties of the USAN with respect to its binary and weighted graphs, and second we explore the airport patterns, which have wide-ranging implications. Results from the two graphs indicate the following. (1) The USAN exhibits scale-free, small-world and disassortative mixing properties, which are consistent with the mainstream perspectives. Besides, we find (2) a remarkable power relationship between the structural measurements in the binary graph and the traffic measurements in the weighted counterpart, namely degree versus capacity and attraction versus volume. On the other hand, investigation of the airport patterns suggests (3) that all the airports can be classified into four categories based on multiple network metrics, which shows a complete typology of the airports. And it further indicates (4) that there is a subtle relationship between the airport traffic and the geographical constraints as well as the regional socioeconomic indicators. 相似文献

For a spatial characteristic, there exist commonly fat-tail frequency distributions of fragment-size and -mass of glass, areas enclosed by city roads, and pore size/volume in random packings. In order to give a new analytical approach for the distributions, we consider a simple model which constructs a fractal-like hierarchical network based on random divisions of rectangles. The stochastic process makes a Markov chain and corresponds to directional random walks with splitting into four particles. We derive a combinatorial analytical form and its continuous approximation for the distribution of rectangle areas, and numerically show a good fitting with the actual distribution in the averaging behavior of the divisions. 相似文献

We analyse the transport properties in approximants of quasicrystals α-AlMnSi, 1/1-AlCuFe and for the complex metallic phase λ-AlMn. These phases present strong analogies in their local atomic structures and are related to existing quasicrystalline phases. Experimentally, they present unusual transport properties with low conductivities and a mix of metallic-like and insulating-like characteristics. We compute the band structure and the quantum diffusion in the perfect structure without disorder and introduce simple approximations that allow us to treat the effect of disorder. Our results demonstrate that the standard Bloch–Boltzmann theory is not applicable to these intermetallic phases. Indeed their dispersion relations are flat, indicating small band velocities, and corrections to quantum diffusion, which are not taken into account in the semi-classical Bloch–Boltzmann scheme, become dominant. We call this regime the small velocity regime. A simple relaxation time approximation to treat the effect of disorder allows us to reproduce the main experimental facts on conductivity qualitatively and even quantitatively. 相似文献

Trinitrotoluene, known as TNT, is a widely used powerful explosive. It is a poisonous material, which injures almost all cells, especially those of liver, bone marrow, and kidney. Estrone is a sex hormone having an electron rich aromatic (phenolic) ring that is capable of forming a π complex with molecules containing an electron deficient π system. This study has focused on investigating the tendency of the complex formation of TNT with estrone. It has been thought that the formation of estrone‐TNT π complex might take place in a human body exposed to acute or prolong period of this hazardous chemical and consequently estrone activities might be impaired. The complex formation reaction was investigated mainly using DFT method with B3LYP/6‐31G(d, p) basis set in gas phase. The existence of π interaction between estrone and TNT was demonstrated by computational spectroscopic analyses (UV/Vis, IR, and 1H NMR techniques). The frontier molecular orbital (HOMO and LUMO) analyses have shown that the considered π complex is very resistant to oxidation with respect to its components, estrone and TNT. 相似文献
