Solitary wave interactions and reshaping in coupled systems

The interaction of the components of composite solitary waves governed by nonlinear coupled equations is studied numerically. It is shown how predictions of the known exact traveling wave solutions may help in understanding and explaining the process of reshaping seen as head-on and take-over collisions of individual solitary waves. The most interesting results concern the switch in the sign or the periodic modulation of the amplitude of the solitary wave and the direction of its propagation due to collisions.     

Bifurcations and New Traveling Wave Solutions for the Nonlinear Dispersion Drinfel'd-Sokolov ($D(m,n)$) System

In this paper, we employ the theory of the planar dynamical system to investigate the dynamical behavior and bifurcations of solutions of the traveling systems of the $D(m,n)$ equation. On the basis of the previous work of the reference \cite{zhang}, we obtain the solitary cusp waves solutions (peakons and valleyons), breaking wave solutions (compactons) and other periodic cusp wave solutions. Morever, we make a summary of exact traveling wave solutions to the $D(m,n)$ system including all the solutions which have been found from the references \cite{Deng,Xie,zhang}.     

Simulation of certain multivariate generalized Pareto distributions

The investigation of multivariate generalized Pareto distributions (GPDs) has begun only recently. For further progress with these distributions simulation methods are an important part. We describe several methods of simulating GPDs, beginning with an efficient method for the logistic GPD. The algorithm is based on the Shi transformation, which was already used for the simulation of multivariate extreme value distributions (EVDs) of logistic type. In the sequel another algorithm is presented simulating a broader class of GPDs. Due to its numerical complexity it is only practicably applicable in low dimensions. A method is given to generate unconditional GPD random vectors from conditionally GPD distributed random vectors. A short application of the simulation methods in the analysis of a real hydrological data set concludes the article. The simulation algorithms are available on the author’s home page .

本文讨论了二维RLW方程和二维SRLW方程孤立波解的性态，通过直接积分的方法求出了这两个方程的显式精确孤立波解，并通过选取初始条件的方法求出了二维RLW方程和二维SRLW方程的另一类精确行波解．     

Traveling solitary wave solutions to evolution equations with nonlinear terms of any order

Many physical phenomena in one- or higher-dimensional space can be described by nonlinear evolution equations, which can be reduced to ordinary differential equations such as the Lienard equation. Thus, to study those ordinary differential equations is of significance not only in mathematics itself, but also in physics. In this paper, a kind of explicit exact solutions to the Lienard equation is obtained. The applications of the solutions to the nonlinear RR-equation and the compound KdV-type equation are presented, which extend the results obtained in the previous literature.
