In this paper, the problem of controller design for Lur’e systems guaranteeing dichotomy is investigated. On the basis of Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov (KYP) lemma and two frequency equalities, a new methodology for the dichotomy analysis of the Lur’e systems is proposed. A linear matrix inequality (LMI) based criterion is derived, which is equivalent to the Leonov’s frequency-domain one, while for the dichotomy analysis and synthesis which is more straightforward than the frequency-domain one. In virtue of this result, a dynamic output feedback controller ensuring the dichotomy property for Lur’e systems is designed. A discretization algorithm is proposed by Haar wavelet approximation theory for the fractional order integral. In this paper, the integration time is divided into two parts, one presents the effect of the past sampled data, calculated by the iterative method, and the other presents the effect of the recent sampled data at a fixed time interval, calculated by the Haar wavelet. This method can reduce the amount of the stored data effectively and be applied to the design of discrete-time fractional order PID controllers. This paper deals with the problem of robust finite-time stabilization of non-autonomous chaotic gyrostat systems. It is assumed that the parameters of the gyrostat system are completely unknown in advance and the system is perturbed by unknown uncertainties and disturbances. Some update laws are proposed to estimate the unknown parameters. Based on the finite-time control idea and the update laws, appropriate control laws are designed to ensure the stabilization of the closed-loop system in a finite time. The finite-time stability and convergence of the closed-loop system are analytically proved. A new analog fuzzy logic controller implemented in CMOS technology is described. The chosen membership function generator keeps the needed area for the inference engine very small while giving a big flexibility in the configuration of the membership function. The proposed solution for defuzzification gives an additional area reduction over earlier implementations. High speed, low power fuzzy controller hardware make the chip appropriate for intelligent sensor application.
