Investigation of the Declared Value of Selenium in Food Supplements by HG-AFS

The method of hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS) was optimised for determination of selenium in food supplements. Due to the high and varied content of Cu, Mg and Zn in the samples, the standard addition method was found to be the most appropriate. The reliability of the method was checked by the independent method of radiochemical neutron activation analysis, and good agreement was found between the two methods. HG-AFS is simple and rapid for Se determination in food supplements based on minerals. Agreement between the selenium values found and declared was worse than 10% in 9 out of 13 supplements. Furthermore, 2 of the 14 supplements did not comply with the recommendations stated in the 27^th edition of the U.S. Pharmacopoeia, which states that minerals and vitamins in food supplements should be in the range of 90 and 200% of the declared value.     

Study of metal-loaded activated charcoals for the separation and determination of selenium species by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis

Conversion of adsorption properties of activated charcoal (C^∗) by metal modification towards selenite, selenate and seleno-dl-methionine (Se-Met) was studied. Several metals were included in modification studies and also a procedure was developed for the separation and independent determination of microgram quantities of these selenium species in aqueous solution. Selenium species were collected one by one from the same sample solution onto collector material by adsorbing them directly or after complex formation onto different metal-loaded activated charcoals (MgC^∗ and FeC^∗). The mass of selenium in these collectors was measured directly by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF). Detection limits for all three selenium species were better than 6 μg corresponding to concentration of 60 μg/l with 0.100 l of initial sample volume.

据不同地貌、地质条件在30个县市按剖面、同步、随机取土壤样品372份．测定硒等微量元素含量．作等级相关分析显示。土壤硒含量与消化系统癌呈负相关关系．作相对危险度、剂量-效应及多因素分析,认为此负相关关系并非偶然现象．     

Regio- and stereoselective synthesis of vinyl sulfides via PhSeBr-catalyzed hydrothiolation of alkynes

We present here a simple and mild method of hydrothiolation of internal and terminal alkynes under PhSeBr-catalyzed reaction in the absence of solvent at room temperature. The reaction tolerates a wide variety of substituents on thiol, and provides the corresponding product in good yield and selectivity.     

食道癌患者血清铜／锌比值及血清硒含量的测定及临床意义

报道了３５例食道癌患者血清铜／锌比值及血清硒水平，结果发现食道癌患者血清铜／锌比值增加，血清硒水平下降，具有显著性差异（Ｐ〈０．００１）；同时提示随着食道癌分期增加，铜／锌比值进一步增加，血硒水平进一步下降，但无统计学差异。上述结果对临床诊断及观察病情变化有一定意义。     

氢化物发生石墨炉原子吸收光谱法直接测定高温镍基合金中的硒

在６ｍｏｌ／Ｌ盐酸介质和０．１％ＫＢＨ４条件下，不但能有效地发生硒的氢化物，而且５ｍｇ／ｍｌＮｉ和３ｍｇ／ｍｌＦｅ都不干扰硒的测定。利用涂钯石墨；管作为氢化物的原子化器，直接测定了高温镍基合金中的硒，特征质量为４０ｐｇ，相对标准偏差在６．１％以内，回收率在９７％－１１０％之间。     

Selenium and mercury bioaccessibility in fish samples: an in vitro digestion method

The assessment of hazard from selenium (Se) and mercury (Hg) contaminants in the food chain based on their potential bioaccessibility and on estimate of their actual content in fish is reported under an in vitro model. Atomic fluorescence spectroscopy (AFS) was applied for total selenium and mercury quantification. Selenium and mercury bioaccessibility varied depending on the type of fish analyzed. Se solubility in the gastrointestinal supernatants was higher in swordfish and sardine (76 and 83%, respectively) than in tuna (50%). A low Hg bioaccessibility (9-17%) was found for all the samples.Simulated human gastric and intestinal digestion led to the identification of selenomethionine (SeMet) and organic mercury in the three digested fish. Furthermore, these species were not modified during the digestion. Speciation of selenium compounds was done by liquid chromatography in conjunction with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LC-ICP-MS).Sardine had the most favorable Se:Hg, [Se:Hg]_{bioaccessible} and [SeMet:Hg]_{bioaccessible} molar ratios, making it preferable to tuna and swordfish.The effect of cooking was also evaluated.     

高血脂大鼠摄入富硒饲料对血清中铜,锌,钙,镁含量的影响

将４０只雄性ＳＤ大鼠随机分成两组，采用猪油（Ｌ）或玉粮米油（Ｍ）加胆固醇饲料诱导出大高血脂模型后，再分出两组、分别加入亚硒酸钠（Ｌ－Ｓｅ，Ｍ－Ｓｅ），观察大鼠补硒后血清中锌铜、锌、钙、镁等元素的变化。结果表明，高血脂大鼠补硒后血 锌的含量明显下降，铜／锌比值长高。相关分析显示：血硒水平与血清锌含量呈负相关，各组大鼠血清铜、钙、镁的浓度未观察到显著性差异。     

(CuBr)3P4Se4: A Low Symmetric Variant of the (CuI)3P4Se4 Structure Type

Bright orange (CuBr)₃P₄Se₄ is obtained from the reaction of CuBr, P, and Se in stoichiometric amounts (CuBr : P : Se = 3 : 4 : 4). The composition and the crystal structure of the compound were determined from single crystal X‐ray diffraction data. Lattice constants are a = 33.627(2) Å, b = 6.402(1) Å, c = 19.059(1) Å, β = 90.19(3) °, V = 4103.2(3) ų, and Z = 12. The compound crystallizes in a structure that is related to (CuI)₃P₄Se₄. Cages of β‐P₄Se₄ are stacked along the b‐axis and are separated by columns of copper(I) bromide. However, the coordination of the β‐P₄Se₄ cage molecules to the copper atoms in the CuBr columns in (CuBr)₃P₄Se₄ is quite different from (CuI)₃P₄Se₄. The monoclinic compound (space group: P2₁, no. 4) has an almost orthorhombic metric in combination with a threefold superstructure in [100]. Structural aspects of (CuBr)₃P₄Se₄ are discussed with respect to the heavier homologue (CuI)₃P₄Se₄.     

富硒灵芝中一种新含硒蛋白的纯化、性质及其自由基清除活性研究

通过硫酸铵沉淀、离子交换层析和分子排阻层析等方法, 从富硒灵芝中获得了一种新的含硒蛋白, 命名为Se-GL-P, 并研究了此蛋白的性质、抗氧化活性与其硒含量间的关系. 结果表明, 此蛋白的分子量为36600, 分子中约含有19.8%的糖链, N端的氨基酸残基序列为DINGGGATLPQKLYLTPDVL, 属于DING蛋白家族. 硒含量为4.87 mg/g, 具有较高的羟自由基和超氧自由基清除活性. 研究发现, Se-GL-P的抗氧化活性的提高与其中硒含量的提高相关.
