The poly(hydroxy ether of bisphenol A)‐based blends containing poly(acrylontrile‐co‐styrene) (SAN) were prepared through in situ polymerization, i.e., the melt polymerization between the diglycidy ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) and bisphenol A in the presence of poly(acrylontrile‐co‐styrene) (SAN). The polymerization reaction started from the initial homogeneous ternary mixture of SAN/DGEBA/bisphenol A, and the phenoxy/SAN blends with SAN content up to 20 wt % were obtained. Both the solubility behavior and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy studies demonstrate that no intercomponent reaction occurred in the reactive blend system. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) were employed to characterize the phase structure of the as‐polymerized blends. All the blends display the separate glass transition temperatures (Tg's); i.e., the blends were phase‐separated. The morphological observation showed that all the blends exhibited well‐distributed phase‐separated morphology. For the blends with SAN content less than 15 wt %, very fine SAN spherical particles (1–3 μmm in diameter) were uniformly dispersed in a continuous matrix of phenoxy and the fine morphology was formed through phase separation induced by polymerization. Mechanical tests show that the blends containing 5–15 wt % SAN displayed a substantial improvement of tensile properties and Izod impact strength, which were in marked contrast to those of the materials prepared via conventional methods. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 采用乳液聚合技术通过改变共聚单体的投料比(St/AN)合成了一系列不同AN结合量的ABS接枝共聚物粉料和SAN共聚物.将其与聚氯乙烯(PVC)和邻苯二甲酸二辛酯(DOP)熔融共混分别制得了PVC/ABS、PVC/SAN、PVC/ABS/DOP和PVC/SAN/DOP共混物,利用SEM、TEM和动态力学粘弹谱仪(DMA)对共混物的相容性和相结构进行了表征.结果发现,在PVC/ABS共混体系中,尽管改变接枝SAN共聚物的AN结合量,PVC和SAN共聚物均为不相容体系;在该共混物中引入增塑剂DOP后,虽然当SAN共聚物AN结合量小于23.4 wt%时,共混物在室温以上只存在一个tanδ峰,但形态结构研究结果表明共混物仍为不相容体系,共混物的相区尺寸明显地依赖于SAN共聚物中的AN结合量,当AN结合量为23.4 wt%时相区尺寸最小. 相似文献

This study investigated the fabrication of styrene–acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN) membrane using the nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method with a combination of solvents, namely N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and dimethylformamide (DMF) and water as the nonsolvent. Since the impact of varying solvent ratios on SAN membrane performance remained unexplored, this study aimed to address this knowledge gap in the context of oil–water emulsion separation. Experimental results demonstrated that employing a solvent mixture, rather than a pure solvent, led to improved membrane performance. The primary objective of this work was to experimentally determine the optimal solvent ratio for enhancing SAN copolymer membrane performance. Additionally, the Flory–Huggins thermodynamic model was applied to investigate the possibility of predicting membrane binodal data. The thermodynamic analysis revealed a strong agreement between calculated and experimental binodal data, with an error of less than 3.8%. Notably, membranes produced with an equal solvent ratio exhibited the most hydrophilic properties, resulting in increased permeability. The permeate flux for distilled water reached 320 L/(m2 h) (LMH), and water contact angle of the membrane was 22°. Furthermore, mechanical resistance increased up to 50%. These results highlight the promising potential of fabricating SAN membrane using solvent mixtures for oil–water emulsion separation. 相似文献
