In this work, we review recent progress on the view of potential energy surfaces and molecular dynamics study of water and its related reactions in the last decade or so. Some important gas-phase reactions of water with radicals, chemisorbed dissociative dynamics of water on solid surfaces, and statistical mechanics and vibrational spectrum simulations of water from clusters to the condensed phase have been introduced. The recently developed machine learning techniques, such as the neural networks in a combination of permutational invariant polynomials or fundamental invariants, the atomic neural networks framework, the gaussian approximation potentials with the smooth overlap of atomic position kernel, as well as the many-body expansion framework for the construction of highly accurate potential energy surfaces, have also been discussed. Finally, some suggestions have been provided for further improvement of the potential energy surfaces and dynamics methods of water-related systems.  相似文献

Streaming potential is created when an electrolyte solution is forced to flow pass a charged surface. For an uncoated fused silica capillary, the streaming potential is measured between the inlet and outlet vials while applying a pressure across the capillary. The changes in streaming potential can be used to characterize the properties of the capillary inner surface. In this work, HCl, NaCl, and NaOH solutions ranging from 0.4 to 6 mM were used as the background electrolyte (BGE) at temperatures of 15 to 35 °C for the mesurements. The streaming potential decreases with the increase in BGE concentration, and the trend is amplified at higher temperatures. When buffer solutions in the pH range of 1.5 to 12.7 were used as the BGE, streaming potential was shown to be sensitive to changes in pH but reaches a maximum at around 9.5. At pH < 3.3, no streaming potentials were observed. The pH of zero surface charge (streaming potential equals 0) changes with temperature, and is measured to be 3.3 to 3.1 when the temperature is changed from 15 to 35°C. Zeta potentials can be calculated from the measured streaming potential, conductivity, and the solution viscosity. Surface charge densities were calculated in this work using the zeta potentials obtained. We demonstrated that capillary surface conditions can significantly change the streaming potential, and with three different solutions, we showed that analyte-dependent adsorption can be monitored and mitigated to improve the peak symmetry and migration times reproducibility.  相似文献

The inhibition effect of 1,1′-thiocarbonyldiimidazole (TCDI) on the corrosion behaviors of mild steel (MS) in 0.5 mol·L−1 H2SO4 solution was studied with the help of potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and linear polarization resistance (LPR) techniques. The effect of immersion time on the inhibition effect of TCDI was also investigated over 72 h. For the long-term tests, hydrogen evolution with immersion time (VH2-t) was measured in addition to the three techniques already mentioned. The thermodynamic parameters, such as adsorption equilibrium constant (Kads) and adsorption free energy (ΔGads) values, were calculated and discussed. To clarify inhibition mechanism, the synergistic effect of iodide ion was also investigated. The potential of zero charge (PZC) of the MS was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method, and a mechanism of adsorption process was proposed. It was demonstrated that inhibition efficiency increased with the increase in TCDI concentration and synergistically increased in the presence of KI. The inhibition efficiency was discussed in terms of adsorption of inhibitor molecules on the metal surface and protective film formation.  相似文献

We present a new approach for calculating anharmonic corrections to vibrational frequency calculations. The vibrational wavefunction is modelled using translated Hermite functions thus allowing anharmonic effects to be incorporated directly into the wavefunction whilst still retaining the simplicity of the Hermite basis. We combine this new method with an optimised finite-difference grid for computing the necessary third and fourth nuclear derivatives of the energy. We compare our combined approach to existing anharmonic models—vibrational self-consistent field theory (VSCF), vibrational perturbation theory (VPT), and vibrational configuration interaction theory (VCI)—and find that it is more cost effective than these alternatives. The photoabsorption spectrum of ozone in the UV range (5–9 eV) is calculated from a short-time wave packet propagation using six potential energy surfaces obtained from ab initio electronic structure calculations. It is shown that the (unnamed) band around 7 eV, which is immediately adjacent to the intense Hartley band, is primarily due to excitation of three electronic states: 5 1A′ (3 1A1), 6 1A′ (4 1A1), and 4 1A″ (2 1B1). Excitation of the state 8 1A′ (1B2) leads to a broad and intense band starting around 8 eV with a maximum near 9.1 eV. In full accord with the recent experimental study of Brouard et al. [M. Brouard, R. Cireasa, A.P. Clark, G.C. Groenenboom, G. Hancock, S.J. Horrocks, F. Quadrini, G.A.D. Ritchie, C. Vallance, J. Chem. Phys. 125 (2006) 133308], the excitation at 193 nm (6.42 eV) involves at least two states (5 1A′ and 4 1A″) different from the state excited in the Hartley band (3 1A′). The dynamics along the dissociation path is discussed in terms of one-dimensional potential curves. Several avoided crossings among the excited 1A′ as well as the 1A″ states point to a complicated fragmentation process. Although a quantitative analysis of branching ratios is not possible on the basis of the present calculations, we surmise, that in addition to and O(1D) + O2(1Δg), the next higher spin-allowed channel, , also is likely to be a major product channel, in agreement with experimental observations.  相似文献

Solid contact sensors were designed for determination of the antibiotic prodrug tedizolid phosphate. The sensors are based on; microfabricated copper as cost-effective electrode substrate and graphene layer as a transducer. The ion sensing PVC polymeric membrane was optimized by proper selection of the anion exchanger. The graphene layer was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, FT-IR, besides measuring electrochemical impedance for the fabricated sensors. The potential drift decreased down to 0.133 mV h−1 compared to 6.67 mV h−1 for graphene free sensor. The sensors have been used to determine tedizolid phosphate in its pharmaceutical formulation and content uniformity testing applications.  相似文献

The development of water-soluble redox-active molecules with high potentials is one of the effective ways to enhance the energy density of aqueous organic flow batteries (AOFBs). Herein, a series of promising N-substituted benzidine analogues as water-soluble catholyte candidates with controllable redox potentials (0.78–1.01 V vs. standard hydrogen electrode (SHE)) were obtained by the molecular engineering of aqueous irreversible benzidines. Theoretical calculations reveal that the redox potentials of these benzidine derivatives in acidic solution are determined by their electronic structure and alkalinity. Among these benzidine derivatives, N,N,N′,N′-tetraethylbenzidine(TEB) shows both high redox potential (0.82 V vs. SHE) and good solubility (1.1 M). Pairing with H4[Si(W3O10)4] anolyte, the cell displayed discharge capacity retention of 99.4 % per cycle and a high coulombic efficiency (CE) of ∼100 % over 1200 cycles. The stable discharge capacity of 41.8 Ah L−1 was achieved at the 1.0 M TEB catholyte with a CE of 97.2 % and energy efficiency (EE) of 91.2 %, demonstrating that N-substituted benzidines could be promising for AOFBs.  相似文献
