Study of the absorption spectra and ionic equilibria of cationic-anionic polymethine dyes

The absorption spectra of a number of cationic-anionic polymethine dyes in polar, low-polarity, and nonpolar solvents were studied. It was established that in polar solvents the absorption spectra represent the sum of the absorption spectra of the cation and anion, whereas in nonpolar and low-polarity solvents, in many cases the appearance of a short-wave absorption band is observed, due to interaction of the chromophores of the cation and anion in ion pairs. In solvents of intermediate polarity (for example, in chloroform and ethyl acetate), a concentration dependence of the absorption spectra is observed, determined by the equilibria of ionic dissociation. The ionic dissociation constants of a number of cationic-anionic dyes in chloroform and ethyl acetate were determined by a conductometric method. 研究了黑曲霉细胞的生长及其葡萄糖氧化酶、过氧化氢酶的生物合成．ＣａＣＯ３是２种酶的产酶诱导因子,其产酶模式都是延续合成型,最大比生长速度μｍａｘ、菌体得率Ｙ（Ｘ／Ｓ）、葡萄糖氧化酶及过氧化氢酶合成得率Ｙ（ＧＯＤ／Ｓ）、Ｙ（ＣＡＴ／Ｓ）分别为０．０９７ｈ－１、０．０７５ｇ．ｇ－１、２９．３４μｍｏｌ·ｍｉｎ－１·ｇ－１、３８９．１７μｍｏｌ·ｍｉｎ－１·ｇ－１．也研究了各种物质对葡萄糖氧化酶及过氧化氢酶活力的影响,金属离子对葡萄糖氧化酶有抑制,阴离子对葡萄糖氧化酶和过氧化氢酶有抑制,还原性小分子化合物是葡萄糖氧化酶的激活剂

Efficient combination of task-specific ionic liquid and microwave dielectric heating applied to one-pot three component synthesis of a small library of 4-thiazolidinones

The first report of the use of task-specific ionic liquid as synthetic equivalent of ionic liquid-phase matrice for the preparation of a small library of 4-thiazolidinones is reported in this paper. The starting (ethyleneglycol)ionic liquid-phase is functionalized in good yields with 4-(formylphenoxy)butyric acid by using usual esterification reaction conditions (DCC/DMAP as catalyst). The synthesis of the ionic liquid-phase bound 4-thiazolidinones was performed by a one-pot three-component condensation under microwave dielectric heating. The final cleavage under microwave/catalysis strategy provides the expected 4-thiazolidinones in high purity after flash-chromatography purification. According to the ionic liquid-phase organic synthesis (IoLiPOS) methodology, it was found that optimized reaction conditions were performed by standard analytical methods (NMR, TLC). The ¹H, ¹³C NMR spectrum of some representative 4-thiazolidinones and ionic liquid-phase bound benzaldehyde are also reported.     

New homochiralortho-palladated matrix bearing a bulky substituent at the carbon stereocenter

A new homochiral dimericortho-palladated complex bearing a bulkytert-butyl substituent at the carbon stereocenter was synthesized from optically activeN,N-dimethyl-α-tert-butylbenzylamine. Regioselective activation of only the aromatic C−H bond was shown to occur during the cyclometallation process proceeding under very mild conditions due to steric effects. Spectral characteristics of mononuclear derivatives of the new dimeric complex indicate that the five-membered palladacycle exists predominantly in one of two possible chiral conformations with the axial position of thetert-butyl substituent. Aggregation processes of biomolecules in presence of trehalose

Among disaccharides, trehalose, a naturally-occurring glass-forming disaccharide, is particularly effective in terms of its ability to preserve several organisms under stress conditions. The present work is aimed to investigate the bioprotective action of trehalose on lysozyme as a function of temperature. In order to extract quantitative information about the dimensional changes of the proteins, we performed Small Angle Neutron Scattering measurements on lysozyme/D₂O solutions in absence and in presence of the disaccharide. The findings emphasise the capability of trehalose to stabilise the protein, activating aggregation processes.     

Sulfonated polypropylene ionomers

Polypropylene ionomers have been prepared by sulfonation of copolymers of propene and 7 methyl, 1-6 octadiene, followed by neutralization to cesium salts. Both WAXS and SAXS were used to study the morphology of the samples, while their thermal properties were studied by DSC and their mechanical properties by DMTA. The sulfonation process is shown to cause a further drop in crystallinity in addition to the effect of comonomer incorporation. Ion clustering is observed when the extent of sulfonation is high enough, the limit being dependent on the copolymer composition. The ion pairs which are not incorporated into the cluster cause a small-angle upturn in the WAXS pattern. The mechanical properties are strongly affected by the drop in crystallinity, but may be partly recovered due to ion clustering. No disruption of the ion clusters is observed before thermal decomposition of the polymer.
