The construction and performance characteristics of different phosphate ion-selective electrodes are described. Three types of electrodes are demonstrated, namely screen-printed, carbon paste and the conventional PVC membrane electrodes. The cited electrodes are based on bisthiourea ionophores and show a considerable selectivity towards hydrogenphosphate with Nernstian slopes depending on the type of the electrode and the ionophore used. Matrix compositions of each electrode are optimised on the basis of effects of type and concentration of the ionophore as well as influence of the selected plasticizers. The screen-printed electrodes work satisfactorily in the concentration range 10−5 to 10−2 mol L−1 with anionic Nernstian compliance (32.8 mV/decade activity) and detection limit 4.0 × 10−6 mol L−1. The screen-printed electrodes show fast response time of about 2.2 s and exhibit adequate shelf-life (4 months). The fabricated electrodes can be also successfully used in the potentiometric titration of HPO42− with Ba2+.  相似文献

Commercial polystyrene (PS) has been studied as a modifier for commercial poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) when it was submitted to gamma irradiation. PVC/PS blends were prepared with 100/0, 95/05 and 90/10 compositions. Results for gamma-irradiated (60Co) blends are reported and changes in viscosity-average molar mass (Mv) were analyzed. The study showed that the addition of PS into PVC decreased by 73% (95/05) and 79% (90/10) the number of scissions/100 eV in the dose range of 25-100 kGy. Viscosity analyses by the Pan et al. criterion and analyses of FT-IR spectra in the C-Cl vibration region showed negligible intermolecular interactions between the components of PVC/PS blends. However when the films of blends were irradiated to 50 kGy, certain intermolecular interactions were observed by the viscosity method. The addition of PS to PVC and the main scission effect induced by gamma irradiation decreased crosslink density of blends causing changes in the elongation of break and Young's modulus.  相似文献

The miscibility, morphology, and thermal properties of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) blends with different concentrations of poly(methyl methacylate) (PMMA) have been studied. The interaction between the phases was studied by FTIR and by measuring the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the blends using differential scanning calorimetry. Distribution of the phases at different compositions was studied through scanning electron microscopy. The FTIR and SEM results show little interaction and gross phase separation. The thermogravimetric studies on these blends were carried out under inert atmosphere from ambient to 800 °C at different heating rates varying from 2.5 to 20 °C/min. The thermal decomposition temperatures of the first and second stage of degradation in PVC in the presence of PMMA were higher than the pure. The stabilization effect on PVC was found most significant with 10 wt% PMMA content in the PVC matrix. These results agree with the isothermal degradation studies using dehydrochlorination and UV-vis spectroscopic results carried out on these blends. Using multiple heating rate kinetics the activation energies of the degradation process in PVC and its blends have been reported.  相似文献

Different thiol compounds were tested for the synthesis of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) with halogen groups and the course of the modification reactions followed under different conditions by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. It is shown that PVC can be modified without side reactions using 4-fluorothiophenol, 4-chlorothiophenol, 4-bromothiophenol, 3,4-di-fluorothiophenol, penta-fluorothiophenol and penta-chlorothiophenol. The reactivities and final degrees of modification of the different nucleophiles are compared showing that, when the thiolate salt is preformed, the bromine derivative reacts quicker and higher degrees of modification are reached than with its smaller homologues. On the other hand, using the thiol compounds in combination with potassium carbonate this order is inverted and highest degrees of modification are achieved with 4-fluorothiophenol. Glass transition temperatures and thermal stabilities of the new compounds are compared.  相似文献

New poly vinyl chloride (PVC) membrane, carbon paste (CP), and screen printed (SP) electrodes are constructed for iodide sensing. They are based on copper (II)‐sulphamethazine Schiff base complex as suitable carrier. Mechanism was proved by FT‐IR and UV‐Vis spectroscopy. Computational study involving binding energies calculations at DFT/B3LYP level of theory confirmed the proposed mechanism and agreed the observed selectivity pattern. Responses are near‐Nernstian (?55.0, ?51.0 mV/concentration decade) for PVC, and SP electrodes, and super‐Nernstian (?61.2 mV/concentration decade) for the CP electrode. Lower limit of detection (3.2×10?6 mol L?1) and improved selectivity over the highly interfering thiocyanate were obtained in comparison with the previously reported Schiff base complexes‐based iodide sensors.  相似文献

The polymer electrolytes composing of the blend of polyvinyl chloride-polymethyl methacrylate (PVC/PMMA) with lithium triflate (LiCF3SO3) as salt, ethylene carbonate (EC) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as plasticizers and silica (SiO2) as the composite filler were prepared. FTIR studies confirm the complexation between PVC/PMMA blends. The CCl stretching mode at 834 cm-1 for pure PVC is shifted to 847 cm-1 in PVC-PMMA-LiCF3SO3 system. This suggests that there is interaction between Cl in PVC with Li+ ion from LiCF3SO3. The band due to OCH3 at 1150 cm-1 for PVC-PMMA blend is shifted to 1168 cm-1 in PVC-PMMA-LiCF3SO3 system. This shift is expected to be due to the interaction between Li+ ion and the oxygen atom in PMMA. The symmetric vibration band and the asymmetric vibration band of LiCF3SO3 at 1033 and 1256 cm-1 shifted to 1075 and 1286 cm-1 in the DBP-EC plasticized PVC-PMMA-LiCF3SO3 complexes. The interaction between Li+ ions and SiO2 will lead to an increase in the number of free plasticizers (which does not interact with Li+ ions). When the silica content increases from 2% to 5%, the intensity of the peak at 896 cm-1 (due to the ring breathing vibration of free EC) increases in PVC-PMMA-LiCF3SO3-DBP-EC system.  相似文献

The quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) for neutral carriers used to prepare hydrogen ion sensors has been studied. A series of synthesized carrier compounds were taken as the training set. Five molecular structure parameters of the compounds were calculated by using CNDO/2 algorithm and used as feature variables in constructing QSAR model. The lower and upper limits of the linear pH response range were taken as the activity measure. The corresponding model equations were derived from the stepwise regression procedure. With the established QSAR model, a new pH carrier, (4-hydroxybenzyl) didodecylamine (XIII) was proposed and synthesized. The PVC membrane pH electrode based on carrier XIII with a wide pH linear response range of 2.0-12.5 was prepared. Having a theoretical Nernstian response slope of 57.2 ± 0.3 mV/pH (n = 5 at 25 °C) without a super-Nernstian phenomenon, the sensor had low resistance, short response time, high selectivity and good reproducibility. Moreover, the sensor was successfully applied to detecting the pH value of serum samples.  相似文献

The stability and migration product of medical PVC tubes plasticized with polyadipates were investigated by ageing in phosphate buffer at pH 1.679 and water at different temperatures. Changes in the PVC tubes were studied by water absorption, weight loss, Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The low molecular weight migration product that was released was extracted and silylanized before gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS) identification and quantification. After 70 days, the weight loss was less than 0.5% and only a small amount of adipic acid migrated when a tube was aged at 37°C in water and phosphate buffer (pH 1.679), and at 70°C in water after 56 days. However, when aged at 70 and 110°C, gradual deactivation of heat stabilizer after 21 days of ageing in buffer solution and separation of plasticizer from PVC matrix occurred. When the tube was aged at 110°C, significant degradation of both polyadipates and PVC were observed. Adipic acid and 1,4-butanediol monomers and oligomers of polyadipate were the major migration products from polyadipates in the water ageing solution, while only a relatively high amount of adipic acid was identified as the main product in the buffer ageing solution.  相似文献
