化不等式约束问题为无约束的广义可微限域精确罚函数方法

本文给出了广义可微精确罚函数的概念及一类所谓广义限域可微精确罚函数.本文预先选定罚因子,将不等式约束问题化为单一的无约束问题,并给出了具全局收敛性的算法.本文的罚函数构造简单,假设条件少而且算法的构造与收敛性结果是独特的.     

On the average distance between particles in the two-dimensional two-component plasma

The asymptotic forms of the average distance of the closest particle to a fixed positive charge, and of the closest particle to the origin, are obtained for the two-dimensional two-component plasma in the low-density limit. The asymptotic forms of the average areas of the corresponding disks formed by the closest particle are also derived. These results are verified at a special coupling where exact results are available.Laboratoire Associé au Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.     

On some tests of growth curve model under Behrens-Fisher stituation

In this article, we have considered the problem of testing equality of several growth curves under Behrens-Fisher situation. In this context, the robustness of the existing test criteria have been studied. Also, some exact test procedures have been considered and the exact and asymptotic noncentral distribution problems have been studied.     

An exactly solved model with a wetting transition

A model of a binary mixture, showing a wetting transition, is examined. No prewetting phenomena are found. The scaling functions are obtained for the film thickness and for the correlation lengths.

Bahadur efficiencies of spacings tests for goodness of fit

This paper is concerned with the exact Bahadur efficiencies of spacings statistics. For a general class of statistics based on a fixed number of spacings, the explicit forms of the exact slopes are derived, and it is shown that the sum of the logarithms of spacings is optimal in this class. Some results are extended to the case where the number of spacings increase with the sample size to infinity.     

Isomonodromy Approach to Boundary Value Problems for the Ernst Equation

We use the isomonodromy properties of theta-functional solutions of the Ernst equation and an asymptotic expansion in the spectral parameter to establish algebraic relations, enforced by the underlying Riemann surface, between the metric functions and their derivatives. These relations determine which classes of boundary value problems can be solved on a given surface. The situation on lower-genus Riemann surfaces is studied in detail.     

A class of stationary rotating string cosmological models

We obtain a one parameter class of stationary rotating string cosmological models of which the well-known Gödel universe is a particular case. By suitably choosing the free parameter function, it is always possible to satisfy the energy conditions. The rotation of the model hinges on the cosmological constant which turns out to be negative. String-dust distribution in Gödel-type universes is also briefly discussed.
