On new forms of motive differential equations of a mechanical system relative to non-inertial frame

Based on D'Alembert's principle of a mechanical system relative to non-inertial frame and by introducing the concept of the generalized inertial potential, new forms of differential equations of motion of a mechanical system with holonomic and the non-holonomic constraints relative to the non-inertial frame are obtained. The merits and demerits between our method and the Newtonian dynamic method as well as the analytic dynamic method are discussed comparatively. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the application of the motive differential equations in the new forms.     

Deformations of functionals and bifurcations of extremals

We study homology characteristics of critical values and extremals of Lipschitz functionals defined on bounded closed convex subsets of a reflexive space that are invariant under deformations. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a bifurcation point of a multivalued potential operator (the switch principle for the typical number of an extremal) are established.     

Systematic formulations for electronegativity and hardness and their atomic scales within density functional softness theory

A unified Mulliken valence with Parr ground‐state electronegativity picture is presented. It provides a useful analytical tool on which the absolute hardness as well ionization potential and electron affinity functionals are based. For all these chemical reactivity indices, systematic approximate density functionals are formulated within density functional softness theory and are applied to atomic systems. For the absolute hardness, a special relationship with the new electronegativity ansatz and a particular atomic trend paralleling the absolute electron affinity are established that should complement and augment the earlier finite‐difference energetic approach. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical and Chemical Analysis of Expansive Clay Subjected to Heating and Hydration

A fully coupled formulation combining reactive transport and an existing thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) code is presented. Special attention has been given to phenomena likely to be encountered in clay barriers used as part of containment systems of nuclear waste. The types of processes considered include hydrolysis, complex formation, oxidation/reduction reactions, acid/base reactions, precipitation/dissolution of minerals and cation exchange. Both kinetically-controlled and equilibrium-controlled reactions have been incorporated. The total analytical concentrations (including precipitated minerals) are adopted as basic transport variables and chemical equilibrium is achieved by minimizing Gibbs Free Energy. The formulation has been incorporated in a general purpose computer code capable of performing numerical analysis of engineering problems. A validation exercise concerning a laboratory experiment involving the heating and hydration of an expansive compacted clay is described.     

Ⅰ类超晶格势阱中能级分布及电子跃迁规律研究

在研究大量实验曲线的基础上,指出势阱所有能级均有一定的宽度,电子或空穴在各能级中出现的概率符合正态分布,从理论上分析了I类超晶格和双势垒单势阱的发光光谱与吸收光谱·解释了GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs多量子阱和超晶格吸收光谱吸收边及量子阱变窄时各吸收峰的“蓝移现象”及GaAs/Ga1-xAlxAs双势垒单量子阱样品的电流—电压特性曲线及电导—电压特性曲线的特征和出现的“负阻效应”·     

含有五边形—七边形缺陷的单壁纳米碳管的输运性质研究

运用第一性原理的密度泛函理论结合非平衡格林函数研究了含有五边形—七边形拓扑缺陷的纳米碳管异质结的输运性质.结果发现：拓扑缺陷对碳管的输运性质有很大影响；另外，不同类型的碳管形成的异质结的输运性质也有明显的差异. 关键词： 纳米碳管 输运性质 异质结 透射系数     

CuX(X=Al, Ga, In)分子的势能函数与稳定性的密度泛函研究

根据原子分子反应静力学原理导出了CuX(X=Al,Ga,In) 分子基态电子状态及其离解极限,并在B3LYP/LANL2DZ水平上计算了平衡几何、振动频率和解离能.利用Murrell-Sorbie 函数拟合出了解析势能函数,并计算出光谱参数和力常数.计算结果表明该分子体系是稳定存在的,其稳定性排序为 CuAl＞CuGa＞CuIn.

化学镀镍过程中金属基体的引发催化特性研究

通过电位-时间曲线的特征,研究了化学镀镍反应初期不同基体材料的催化特征.在同质基体上可以瞬间诱发化学镀反应,而在异质基体上的诱导期因镀液组成不同而发生变化.在异质基体材料中,Pt无催化活性,Pd的诱发时间最长.
